A friend of mine, who works and lives in Shanghai, just returned to his hometown in Zhejiang for the weekend. The only requirement for him is to have a negative PCR test within the past 48 hours. Besides that, there is no additional quarantine at destination.
I am in Zhejiang, too, Huzhou to be exact. I need to get a new US passport since the old one is expiring, so I will have to go to the US Consulate in Shanghai. Before the lockdowns, this would be a simple 6-hour round-trip. I just asked our local CDC and they told me I would have to get a negative PCR within 48 hours when I get back at the exit of the highway, then a 7 day stay in a quarantine center (yeah, 400 RMB per day including meals), plus another 7 day self-quarantine at home, both with PCR tests. That's a big deterrent for me. Too bad they don't do mail-in passport renewals at the Consulate.

I happen to be an investment professional with focusing value and long-term cash generation. I would probably overlook the short-term headwinds, such as Ukraine war, China lockdown, US inflation, and etc. Socialism vs. capitalism doesn't matter, but if the company you invested in Zhejiang doesn't generate the long-term growth and cash, get out.

As a native of Shanghai, I’d say it‘s not a normal life. Normal life doesn't include regular COVID tests, mandatory masking, or presenting so-called health codes wherever you go.
It will never get back to normal there. Get out while or if you can. The world is pulling away from China, and China is pulling away from the world. Much better options elsewhere.
Wow this was 2 weeks ago. I know half the city is back on lockdown. Pretty crazy. NYC has been free for the longest and infection rates have been non-stop going up, pretty much 80% of everyone I know tested positive at one point or another and the other 20% including myself probably caught it already as well and didn't know. Hospitalizations are really not much and it feels like a light cold. Most people tell me they've had moderate influenza worse than the new COVID. Wishing Shanghai the best of luck. NYC is 90% back to normal, 10% due to fear mongering. My 87 year old mother is back to hanging out with her friends at the senior centers, parks and dim sum restaurants. 💯% of her friends caught it and they're all in their 70s 80s and 90s. Not one death. Again wishing you guys the best

You have inflation which is a natural at this point then you have the government trying their best to keep it balanced with things like e bonds, pandemic relief cash funds, pandemic relief food funds, pandemic relief living funds etc.. It's not perfect continually throwing money at the people but the impact is much less than I expected. I really hope Shanghai breaks out of this. My relatives down south are starting to fear shut down as well. America isn't perfect by far, but there's no place I'd rather be. That's just my own opinion.

前两年全世界疫情非常严重的时候，上海人民基本是过着正常的生活，看到你们过节时可以上饭店吃饭、还可以去旅游，我作为一个生活在美国的老上海是多么羡慕你们啊！你们总算熬过了两个月的封控日子，但是死亡率是全世界最低的。看到麦克老师迫切需要去理发，我想起我们在美国 在2020年从3月一直到7月理发店💈关了4⃣️个月！我和所有朋友们实在坚持不了4个月，后来一个个只好去买专门剪头发的推剪，让自己家人互相剪头发😂 一时那种专业剪刀都卖完了！

封掉的没有那么多，哪怕有密接和确诊，也只是封锁确诊者的楼。我住虹口区，昨天我们区全区封锁了一个上午做核酸，核酸测完就可以正常进出小区。还有明显正常生活的就是：无论哪个买菜APP，下单之后基本上半小时到两小时都能送到了。
这次上海市的封城确实是疫情一开始防疫政策摇摆不定导致情况急剧恶化，带来很多生活工作的不便困扰，但是反观对岸的台湾，在对待疫情的态度和防疫措施，作为普通老百姓，还是觉得生命无价，安全第一最重要!
台灣人口比上海還少，共存躺平僅兩個月就已造成3318人染疫死亡了！死亡數至少是上海的5倍！

Let's not forget that the "official" covid death numbers are inaccurate and inflated in the USA and elsewhere. China is not immune from these lies. In fact, China has lied the most during this whole pandemic, which began in China. Unfortunately, we are all left to come up with our own conclusions based on real time, first hand information. This has proven that we can not trust out governments to be truthful and forthcoming. Lies and deception and the people that spread them do not stop at borders!

台灣沒有封城 小孩子重症率以及死亡率都偏高 而且腦炎比率很高 有台灣專家說可能是基因的緣故 小孩子如果沒有打疫苗還是要注意保護!
台湾前段时间好像还一天死几百，现在估计也差不多。但是上海死亡数字已经降到零了。

台灣主要是小孩死亡率真的太高。至少台灣喜歡學習的國家，像日本啊，像歐美啊，小孩腦炎都沒這麼嚴重。像英國一直開放式，小孩疫苗根本就沒有的時期，小孩腦炎都沒死這麼多

文章提到，死亡個案中有兩位兒童的死因來自「腦炎引起的神經系統併發症」，1147名兒童中有171名曾出現神經系統併發症，其中最常見的是「熱痙攣」，發生率達到11.6%。和過去的新冠肺炎病毒株相比，Omicron BA.2導致更多幼童住院。
所以我才提到有專家說 有可能是中國人基因特殊導致小兒腦炎比例偏高 所以提醒 要注意小孩.
