I've been working on this skill for a while and it is harder to learn rotation and positioning than it is to learn mechanics like flip resets. With mechs, you can go into free play and practice the skill over and over and it becomes muscle memory, with game sense, the only way to learn is to go into games and watch your opponents and figure out what they are going to do based on their cars position and movement. At least for me it takes a long time to get a sense of the opponent's play just and where they are going to hit the ball from looking at them
when i was learning proper rotation i had to actively talk to my self mid game and i dropped in my rank hard (at the time i was bouncing between C2 and C1 and i dropped al the way to low diamond) it took me about 2 weeks to get a sense of how to properly rotate without needing to actively think about it and so i started incorporating it and actualy thinking about my oponents positioning and what move to make next etc. i skyrocketed into GC without any mechanical skill (i can not even do a fast kickoff/ flip resets the most mechanical move i have in my arsenal is decent air dribble) and i have been in GC since just from good positioning and proper rotations
