Hard work builds character and let me tell you can perform! Y'all are on your way now only you get to see something at the end of the work day! 💪 👍 🍓 🍓 🍓 Gotta love them strawberries!!!
Just wondering if you will be showing the renovations on the sugar shack? I have recently watched all your camper van videos and am now watching these. I really love the way you work together. ❤😊

Yes! We do plan on renovating the old thing ahaha we want to start making maple syrup next spring, so we’ll probably start with a small renovation, just to make it work, but as years go by, we plan on upgrading it :)
A couple of string lines would have made short work of making sure it was all level. 4 on the outside then 2 crossing over the center from corner to corner. making sure they are touching at the centre point. A spirit level to check each line and you are set.
Curious why you didn't bolt the sill down? I guess you don't get a lot of hurricane winds in Canada anyway. This was a very fun episode; you guys are doing a great job! I really appreciate the professional camera work. Sometimes these channels are filled with hand held camera which literally makes me sick at my stomach so thank you!

We feel the same about hand held camera shots ;) thank you!! And for the bolt, we don’t have that much wind in Quebec, so we didn’t find it necessary!
Why did you need to split the sill log? To make it flat obviously, but why does it need to be flat? Surely it would work just the same if it were a full log, especially since you've got the rebar securing it to the footings. Enjoying the videos. Thank you.

It's how we've always seen them built. Plus it's more stable and saves us 1 log
Cabane à sucre! J'aime bien, vous êtes de quel coin? :D

Oui, nous sommes bien contents de savoir que nous pourrons faire notre propre sirop d'érable dans les années à venir! Nous sommes dans les alentours de Montréal!
I cant even imagine finding a gf that I would trust to go half on 100 acres and find out she doesnt want to wait at the finish line, but help me build a cabin offgrid... I mean, she's not sitting pretty, but right next to you doing everything! Where did you find her?! With the vapid social media age taking over women nowadays, I cant imagine her existence, but here she is... I just hope this doesnt go south in 7 years. Although, splitting 100 acres leaves both with 50, so its not like youre hurting for space, if its in both your names. I hope it works out. This must be CAN, cause I cant imagine this situation in the US unless the girl's Amish... I just found the channel and Im working toward the new vids. Dont mind me. I think both men and women can use a win now days. People doing something that matters and finding peace.
Nice technique on splitting the log. But i suggest to invest on power tools same as others in d future. This is not your frst project to do. Imagine just splitting tooks 1 episode.

It’s all editing actually :) we could’ve put the splitting as a 30 second clip in any episode, but we decided to make a full episode out of it because it’s not something that everyone sees every day, we feel!
The juices when the chisel was going in! So cool haha
Watching the log split is very satisfying. I’m sure it was a relief when you were done, though!
You guys are an inspiration! Hoping to start my own hand tool log cabin soon. God bless.
Best of luck! It's not easy, but very fun and rewarding :)
That’s really great work! Love the channel.

You could use a water level. It is just a clear hose with water. It doesn't matter the length.
What a huge project , I could never do that..I would use a chain saw..

Weren't you using a laser to mark the sill log before cutting? If that was a laser could you have used it to get a level line for concrete post?
Yes, that’s a laser level!! And we did use it for the concrete post :)

@ Trop cool!!! Est-ce que vous avez prévue d'avoir un évaporateur ou seulement pour votre sirop personnel?😋
Eu gostaria de ver etapa 18 no lugar de ser 18 colocam a 17e essa etapa não encontro bom trabalho
