Looks like a variant of U-Boat. Not sure this makes a lot of sense in relation to carrier damage and/or damage control. Lots of damaged carriers survived various types of hits. Many did not. Most US carrier damage came from Kamikaze attacks, at least in terms of numbers of carriers damage throughout the war. Will we see Japanese aircraft making suicide runs and crashing carriers? Probably not.
From my perspective, the game play just does not look realistic in terms of how carrier damage was historically handled. Or the results of fires on carriers; either interior or planes on the deck. Also not sure how a situation with crew in the hundreds will be managed without some serious compromises in scale and/or consolidation.
Am also somewhat leery of how the issue of injury and damage to crew is going to be handled. Most injuries on carriers subjected to strikes were horrific. Drowning, burning alive, dismemberment. Will this be a 2022 'politically correct' game that hides the real results of war in this environment? I expect so.
All in all, I am not to hopeful regarding the success, or general interest, for this implementation of carrier warfare and management.
