      It was chosen because the William Tell Overture is often played at school sports festivals and it has a japanese feeling of "running" to it. This is a nice little bit of cultural overlap because the William Tell Overture is also connected to horse racing in american culture and also has a feeling of "running" to americans too.

    Don't despair triangle player. In this piece, it is one of the most important instruments. William Tell finally without the triangle would sound terrible! This is the cleanest, best performed William Tell performances on the web. Only one small error about 2 seconds before the end by one of the horns, but other than that, perfect!

    • @cab1stborn
      @cab1stborn 9 лет назад +92

      you don't just get one instrument if you're in percussion. You have to learn all of the instruments if you're a percussionist, some pieces require you to move around while you're in the pit [the place where percussion plays]. So if you only played triangle, the band wouldn't need you. You would need to know all of the instruments in that section. The conductor may move people around in the pit to get the best result for the band.

    I remember I was leaving school one day, and I was stepping on the bus when I realized I left my trombone in the classroom. I was listening to music and this song came on. I ran all the way back up three flights of stairs, grabbed it, hauled it BACK downstairs, and sprinted out the front doors. The buses were starting their engines and I could see people laughing at me through the bus windows. I made it just in time, and this song is now called "the Trombone Dash" in my mind.

    ¡Mis felicitaciones! A la Producción que grabó está bella música. Principalmente al enfocar los dos elementos importantes como son: "El Triángulo y Los Platillos". Ellos deben tener precisión, exactitud y sincronización para ejecutarlos. He visto a muchas orquestas pero esta ha sido la ÚNICA en donde enfocan al que ejecuta El Triángulo.

    Beautifully done; however, I think the description should note that this is an abridged finale, as it's missing about a minute and a half of the full composition.

    Man, it doesn't get much better than this! Camera work was perfect - most of the time the videographer misses the solos and other keys to the performance. This video nails it. On the musical side, nice to see a full compliment of French horns!

      The camera work might have been good, but the editing is terrible. It is out of sync the whole time, sometimes by a complete bar!

    Rossini was the first great modern entertainer. He understood the ever evolving audience. This might be the greatest composition ever because of it's universal appeal and 20th century sound. The great master himself might have thought so too, because this was his last opera.

      Plenty of Baroque music has universal appeal and, dare I say, a "pop" sensibility. Not to mention Mozart, who was basically the Beatles. In fact get out of here.
