@Proper Kvlt he explained a lot of times that euro falls on broken glass hitting in the back. the autopsy made by the authorities says that also. stop being a kiddo.
He doesn't because he doesn't know how to pronounce it. Its Burzum with a guttural r not a rolling r. The elves used rolling r's. It's weird because I'm pretty sure Varg is from Bergen and I'm also pretty sure Bergen-dialect uses guttural r's so why he doesn't is beyond me.
That Gaahl scene...damn, exactly how drunk did you have to be to (eventually, after what...83 takes?) do that scene with a straight face? Lmfao, everything about this is fucking brilliant!
Since WW1 in which Tolkien fought was the reason for creating LOTT to begin with, the killing of Archduke Ferdinand basically led to the creation of black metal.
To play the Dunkelheit riff you have to hit the high strings in a flamenco style. Varg shows it in his Burzum live tutorial. Nice video tone felt right.
And... Burzum sound is created with full middles not zero of them. Recipe: presence 0, bass 0, middle full, treble by taste. Fuzz face was correct, though :)
Mephilis 78 Well technically doesnt count after Hvis lyset. Filosofem was an "anti-black metal" album according to Varg. And everything after that hasnt been black metal. His metal albums after Filosofem have dealt more with nature, paganism and stuff like that. Not really traditional black metal stuff. So you could call it folk metal, or pagan metal.
Wait, could it be that you also watched this video where Farvann specifically mentions this? No, how could that be, that would be such a coincidence to bump into someone who watched a video in the comment section of said video.
I never knew Amon Amarth was the other name for Mount Doom. Well, I could've at least realized the name was taken from the LoTR universe since there's a place called Amon Sûl which is another name for Weathertop (the place where Frodo was stabbed by the Witch King).
wow, it actually sounded very good! Varg vocals where more calm in the slow musics like this one, but still... we must never give up hehe (nice Gaahl impression btw, lost my shit)
Very good video. The main riff definitely has that Burzum texture to it, but it does sound too happy. Also I'm fairly certain that every riff on Filosofem ends on the same or a lower note than it begins with. In fact I'm fairly certain this is the rule with most of the obligatory Burzum era, Det som engang var (the album) having the most exceptions IIRC.
Ash nazg durbatulûk, ash nazg gimbatul, ash nazg thrakatulûk, agh burzum-ishi krimpatul. The last line is "and in the darkness bind them", burzum is black speech for darkness.
Your akward humor is great and I think the track you put together was virtually spot on. You should do a stoner doom tutorial. (If you're into that style, anyway). I Also subscribed to your channel, as well. \m/
The joke was made more evil by reversing the sequence . He said Satan some time prior to stroking the wine glass . Instead of the pause after , the name Satan was uttered before hand to the cat
@Farvann : This video is surely one of the very best from you I’ve seen so far! Thank you so much! The way you masturbate this glass of wine is unique, even the lyrics of the song are so good, the guitar riffs and the synth melody are “pure-fect” in a “beurzeum-ish” way, and thanks to Brocoli for paying a 10 000+ viewers visit! Damn! I love your videos! And I don’t even need the automatic French subtitles to understand you. Baptiste
In "until the light takes us" varg told that he used a tiny marshall amp and a mic for record it. i think that's the reason for the gnarly rough guitar sound
DEPH ONE thats what I thought. Burzum has power chords that are trem picked up and them go down half a step typically. The vocals sounded like darkthrone
I'm a die-hard early black metal fan but I absolutely love how you lampoon it. It does sound like shit but that's the beauty of it, in my opinion. I tried starting an early bathory/ discharge infused band myself a few years ago, couldn't get committed bandmates
Hi, I’m new to the Channel! I‘ ve never seen a black metal head being so funny and self-ironic like you! Its so unreal but refreshing, I like it! Keep up the good work! 🤘🏻
Well, that was hillarious, I like it! Especially when you tried to pick a band name. Please, make Lustre tutorial, it's a milestone of Ambient Black Metal.
Burzum is renowned for recording a lot of different guitar parts (even if the listener seems to hear only one or 2), creating this chaotic layered sound. I think that it's not quite like Filosofem because there's only one guitare track ;)
Just got back to this video after years... it just hit me and I gotta say it mate, the lyrics to this song are just awesome, honestly. Very profound meaning (to me at least). They give me chills.
It`s true, i had it. I tought it wound never happen again but... :D Back in my younger days when i needed my daily dose of DSBM and my spirit was transofrming trough agony it was a more often happening. By the way, nice work!
I always pronounced it with b-yur-zum. Also the way you say it relies heavily on accent. Definitely would not roll of the tongue like that for a native English speaker. Also Hvar Lyset Tar Oss was and will always be a masterpiece. Those howls would chill a yeti to its bones. Filosofem is my second favorite Burzum album. He was absolutely instrumental in defining black metal.
Filsofem is great I also like the original album both albums are great. Not to mention some of the best guitar playing in black metal history along with Varg’s insane screeching it’s just an amazing atmosphere 👍
I pronounce Burzum the way I do so that I can make the joke "Let's Burnzum churches." Btw, I'm really curious to see what a "how to Arcturus " tutorial would look like. They're such a complex and well thought out band, and to top it all off, they have ICS Vortex and Hellhammer.
I heard a norweigan say that in Norway they can refer any type of Distortion pedal as a "Fuzz" pedal, not sure but it would make sense to why he said so.
2:57 - Of course I mean 1996. That was my German brain talking.
lol thats so relatable
How to know you're really into a black metal: You argue over how to pronounce the band names which are based on a fictional language.

@Proper Kvlt and you are an analphabet with internet, that is hard to find. cant read vargs explanation and the norwegian court sentence?
poor you...
@Proper Kvlt 26 times at that

not really, he plays it on the live/tutorial videos sometimes, and he puts on subs that he is now using 6 strings

The black speech is actually based on the Finnish language, so just pronounce it like the Finns do it. I'd have to say that 0:40 sounds about correct.
