About to smoke a joint and take a shower listening to this masterpiece that vanished from all streaming services. Whoever uploaded this BLESS UR HEART !!! It’s been years since I listened to them 😭😭
She is one of the best writers I’ve ever heard. Her lyrics have so much and depth and layered meanings. Sidenote: the 3 song stretch of mantis, murakami, and panther is extraordinary.
There’s no music like this on the planet. It consistently brings me to a place of self-love and detached reflection. I listen at least once a week, thanks so much and I hope it doesn’t get taken down
I have listened to both of their solo music, and its just... fine... normal... but when they came together for those few years, the stars aligned, and they created two literal works of art together. it's a shame they split, but all things end. at least we got two amazing albums.
A friend of mine sent me Murakami, said it helped her through some tough times. Found the rest of the album here and I gotta say I am blessed. This music is something I can't even describe.
i came across their song murakami again after finding my 2016 playlist. heartbreaking its not on spotify anymore. thank you so much for uploading this!
No it's not. Fuck Spotify and their whole business model. When they took it all down I already had 80% of the MIH songs I liked saved offline after buying them off Bandcamp, and then discovered more via Kelsey's upload. Streaming-only services suck ass, stop using them and giving them this power to take away your music.
I finally googled “murakami pirouette album” and found this after not being able to find either song on Spotify for the past few weeks and having forgotten the artist name. The melody keeps coming back to me just recently and the last time I’ve listened to the album was probably 2015/16, and it was on repeat. So glad I found again! 🙏 thank you
It's my understanding that they had a sort of falling out that involved lawyers & conflict over the music's rights :( They were also a couple, so it may have been messy.
I cannot express what it means to have found this album again! Thank you so much for putting this up and for the download link! MiH is just absolutely brilliant.
Most people don't know that the Lead singer Kelsey Bulkin has some of her own songs and they are just as magical! She also has a few songs with a band called Fiero .

I totally forgot about this album but was going through an old spotify playlist I made and found Pirouette greyed out...just listened through and yeah wow shit HOLDS UP! I didn't realize they pulled their music, no wonder I could never find them on spotify. Thank you for the download link! Their music got me through some wild times

For the last few days I was trying to remember this band. I remembered this album art but for the life of me I couldn't remember the name of the band or any song names so I was trying to look it up to no avail. Finally, today after I had basically just decided to forget about it, the name just popped into my head out of nowhere and it's a good thing it did (and no wonder I hadn't found it), because apparently, their music disappeared from everywhere. I don't get it. But thank you for uploading this so I could revisit this music after so many years 😊

DEATH
Feel it rush like a hush in the attic, bae
You could see me blush when I tell you all about it
In a moment hit the switch
Then a moment in the dark
Then a moment so pervasive it was breaking us apart
The galaxy is spreading like a rumor in your jaw
Better keep your planet spinning better keep the motive tall
There’s time inside my tears making diamonds on the wall
Heavy forest summer night, I confess that I'm a lightweight
Cause fate is rolling up and hate is blowing up
If it’s a crime to bend the line then we should tear it up
And when the waters start to cross, I’ll call you up
I genuinely love to hear your thoughts
Inherited these ways and they came with seven claws
Like the terror that remains every morning in the dark
And the tethers that you lace only tie you in a knot
Don’t fall for all the blame, don’t rely on the applause
Tripping for so long, I've been Tripping for so long
Tripping for so long, I've been Tripping for so long
Your burden was the weight of a feather
I was certain if I waited you’d remember
When the comet took me out into space
When you held your breath, looking at my face
Now I comprehend that death is not the end
And the world that we destroyed wasn't real enough to live in
But I’m alive, Yes I am alive
I can feel it running up and down my spine
Tripping for so long, I've been Tripping for so long
Tripping for so long, I've been Tripping for so long
Hahahaha hahahaha hahahaha hahahaha
Tripping for so long, I've been Tripping for so long
Tripping for so long, I've been Tripping for so long
PIROUETTE
Pour my tea, pour my thoughts into separate beds
Spilling out into clouds, whirling like a pirouette
Every breath, every cross, everywhere I turn
In my head, stitching thread until my temples burn
From the crease of your mouth to the picket fences
All the space, stretching out, blurring my defenses
Dignity, diligence, I can not avenge
Sink my teeth in the sheets and taste the emptiness
Love is sweet, love is dark and it pulls
Your world apart, so you can grow
Now I see perfectly, oh, how it's clear
What I needed the most was you here
If I ever let you down, if I ever let you down
If I ever let you down, if I ever let you down
Spend my time, spend my dime waiting for the train
All of these memories float around and ricochet
Like a storm, when it's thrown out over the sea
As I roll, as I grow tougher than I used to be
Love is sweet and it calls you again
To bring you back from where you've been
Now I see perfectly through all the fear
What I needed the most was you here
If I ever let you down, if I ever let you down
If I ever let you down, if I ever let you down
If I ever let you down, if I ever let you down
If I ever let you down, if I ever let you down
You will feel my love, when the time comes, here me say
You will feel my love, when the time comes, and you say
Never be the same as before
It'll never be the same, I deserve much more
Hard for me to blame you my love, so, so, ooh
If I ever let you down, if I ever let you down
If I ever let you down, if I ever let you down
If I ever let you down, if I ever let you down
If I ever let you down, if I ever let you down
MURAKAMI
I hear the bells I hear the wind
I hear a song in my heart again
In the tenderness moves all things
Like a poltergeist in the streets
It's a silly rush that I used to get
Singing Billie or reading Vonnegut
I could teleport to the stars
Kinda strange that I'm all alone
'Cause you really hold me down like that
'Cause you really know what's down like that
Like the universe is singing a song
Do you feel it when you write like that?
Do you feel it cause you're down like that?
Like the universe is singing a song
'Cause you really hold me down like that
'Cause you really know what's down like that
Like the universe is singing a song
Do you feel it when you write like that?
Do you feel it cause you're down like that?
Like the universe is singing a song
It's just a story though
Is it a story though?
I can't tell if it happened cause it felt impossible
Don't know whether it was real or a dream
Imagination playing tricks on me
Now tell me what you know
Is this a story or
An allegory for the racket knocking at my door?
What's the difference if it's real or a dream?
Imagination playing tricks on me
What's the difference in my love or scheme?
The difference in what you say what you mean?
What you mean you don't really know?
I'm losing touch with the physical
I'm showing up in the future like I've been here before
Ain't that a story though?
Like you ain't even know
Somebody switching the digits up on my Casio
Don't know whether this is real or a dream
Imagination playing tricks on me
