Please forgive my poor English. I am a Japanese who loves bait finesse. Basically, Japan is a very small area and the density of people fishing is ridiculously high. Therefore, fish are accustomed to seeing lures all the time, no matter where they are in the field. Japanese people do not think in terms of "going where the fish can be caught. They try to catch the fish that are there by force. In order to catch fish that are used to seeing lures, you need to use thinner lines and lighter weights. This trend has accelerated in recent years. In response to this need, Daiwa has released the Gekka Bijin. This reel is designed not for minnows, but for a style of fishing in which a worm less than 1 inch in length is attached to a jig head of an astonishingly light weight of 0.8 grams. Even if it were a spinning reel, it would not fly 20 meters. However, its handling is surprisingly comfortable. This reel is designed to catch horse mackerel and mebaru. These fish are basically caught at night. For this reason, it is necessary to reduce trouble anyway. I don't think that a reel created to meet such unusual needs in Japan would be accepted outside of Japan 😂I think that Aldebaran with a weaker brake and a larger spool diameter would be more advantageous for the lures used in the test in this video. The Gekka Bijin is an extraordinary reel. By the way, I am a fan of Daiwa.
Love the content, your channel really got me informed and into bfs fishing. I don't understand why people give you a hard time for putting bible passages in your intro. You're not being negative or telling anyone what to think or believe, you're just expressing your beliefs and freedom of speech. We should defend everyone's freedom of speech and religion/beliefs if it is not hateful. Thanks
If you don't want controversy, there are two points of contention you never touch on. Religion and Politics. If you don't care about the inevitable counter beliefs, sleep soundly but do not wonder why you're receiving, potentially, discerning opinions. You also never know who you reach with your beliefs. Point of example, I am not religious but I always read the passages posted on this channel before each video. It could be curiosity or simply respect for the poster, either way I ultimately appreciate the content.

It's funny I ran across this video, as yesterday I had the Aldebaran BFS in my hand at the Point tackle shop. I commented to the Japanese salesman that it looked like a Concode Jet. It's nice it has the good looks and good function. :)
Got the curado bfs. For my type of fishing I like to do bass and striper. These reels won’t stand a chance on catching a 12lb striper. I’m happy with my purchase. It has a drag clicker and also seems like it’ll do better casting heavier lures in the 1/16oz to 1/4oz range
nice compare, i would like to ask, what settings do you use for ald22 when cast 5-7g lures. and what your minds about that rubber around bearings, what to do when change to other company bearings.
You really just have to just get out and cast and find the right setting for you. We all have different casting styles. As far as the o-rings? Im going to do a video about that.
Yeah, but I mean, fan boys can try to prove me wrong and do their own testing on video but in over 5 years of doing these battles, ZERO fan boys have done it LOL
@@THEREELTEST Exactly, somehow all the reel reviews on RUclips all pretty much come to the same conclusions: Shimano's cast the furthest BUT Daiwa's are more affordable. I own both and IDK my Shimano's just hold up better overtime. There has to be something to over greasing the reels before shipping them to market.
The 22 Aldebaran is smoother…I don’t own one yet ( one is being shipped to me right now ) but my Gek is air smooth and I don’t know how smoother you can be to beat that. Well I’ll find out when my Alde gets here.
I bought the Gekabijin for saltwater. My tatula sv outperforms it in any cast I've done with any 5 gram lure. I don't like my Gekabijin, not worth it. ETA: I've noticed the Daiwa is extremely sensitive to the pole used.
been looking at the alde myself, do you suggest the xg or hg? i mainly fish shore or shallow rivers/streams without alot of hard current. right now i fish UL spinning
If you’re using a jerkbait like duo ryuki Casting up current id say xg I use in saltwater for jigging so I prefer xg If you will use bottom soft bait then as low ratio as possible
Well if you need to pick up line faster the XG, but keep in mind with that small spool the line pickup isnt really going to be anywhere near a 34mm spool in XG ratio
As usual, Shimano wins in footage distance and when the results there are close, Daiwa is downgraded on the basis of ease of use. Lots of interesting reels are covered on this channel, but the channel's value would be so much better if the evaluations were truly unbiased.
How is a 20% backlash rate when casting a popular BFS jerkbait downgrading the reel on the basis of ease of use? I sold my Gekka and got an Alde, couldn't be happier bro.
New Aldebaran is amazing, just having such a hard time getting over that exposed brake dial. Not too bad, just wish they had used a different design. Other than that I might worry about the micro module aluminum gear durability.
@@THEREELTEST That's good. I try and remind myself I have other reels with an exposed dial and they work fine. Still was an odd design versus Shimano's usually sleek nature.

Aldebaran is the king of bfs. Sorry for spoiler.
I just ordered the 3g Chameleon spool for the 22 Aldebaran, it should make it ultra deadly for trout magnet fishing.

The Aldebaran casts so smooth it feels like you’ve cracked off.

Why would your curado stand up and not the alderberen. Just trying to learn I have an alderberen ots
@THEREELTEST great content. What rod were you using during your test.

A $75 standard magnetic brake reel can cast a 7g lure. Not sure why you'd want to throw that heavy of a lure on an Aldebaren.
You just keep it o brake dial just a bit above 4 and play with the know and you are sound

The Gekkabijin Air TW PE BFS is available at Plat LLC for $218
I think I am one of the annoying folks who have been requesting a braid battle 😂 thanks doing this for us 🙏
braid was the only way the Gekkabijin could complete a battle. The reel is extremely limited in what it can acutally fish

Shimano
Does anyone know where to get a good budget bsf rod 7ft the shortest?
I had a go with a mates alderbaren the other day it’s a wonderful reel just need to save some cash to buy one
when will there be a comparison zenon ltx - Aldebaran
I hope to do that battle probably in January
The Shimano fam bois never disappoint lol
The proofs in the pudding 🤷♂️
You supposed to use 0.6 braided line. Not 0.2.
For Christmas for us who watch your vids please do a video with links to where you buy all your finesse lures.
for the JDM stuff I usually look on ebay
Who win. Tell me?
What about the steez air?
send me one and Ill battle it against the Aldebaran
Deron Goot: 🦗🦗🦗
I got both I like the steez air more but it could use a drag clicker you got one viper guy?
@@viperguyz if so you should send him yours
On that gekkabijin buy the Roro spool and a test with the Aldebaran see who wins
no
Did you adjust the spool tension at all? Because we know you take the zero adjust spool tension as gospel.
did you listen?
🤣🤣🤣 clearly he didn't

Daiwa fan boys are probably really angry af again 😂😂😂
Im not worried about it... never will be either lol
Is going to take another 2 years for daiwa now to make a reel to reach the alde22 performance😂
I think daiwa still has advantage of casting easiness of sub 2 gr lures but 3gr and higher aldebaran really shines
Antares dc 21 vs exsence dc 22 cast battle 🥺
send them both to me and Ill do it
