That’s the most gentle wels cat I’ve ever seen, the two I’ve had constantly ate or attacked anything they were with. I recently lost a high fin banded shark and a bowfin of the same size as the wels, to the wels….
This sounds more like a Chinese wels, not European wels, no?
@@Fish-Story yea I’d love to have a European wels but I believe they’re illegal to import in the USA
@@Tygor3533 Yes they are federally banned since the Fall of 2016. When someone says wels without any adjective, it means European wels by default, I think. Hence my confusion and question.

Thinking back, yes, this could have been a valid explanation. Finger mullet are small for Mr Wels.
I don't know how much it would cost, but if you covered the liner with paver stones, that would protect it, and look pretty.
Thank you. I'd have to concrete the pavers in place. For the bottom it should be easy but it won't be easy or lasting on vertical walls. In any case, this is moot until I finish the 10K. Even then, it'd be risky for the fish, with sedation or not.
My favorite koi's tail is shredded 😔
Yes, I bummed about this too Still pondering how to mitigate or stop this. The tail attacks have subsided 10x but haven't completely stopped yet.
