Brokeback Mountain is the saddest movie I have ever seen. Everyone lost, there were no winners. I left the theatre feeling very sad and it lasted for a long time.
Wasn’t able to eat or think for 2 days afterwards...touching experience
@@rw356 same I was crying for no reason at times after watching the movie I have never ever had a feeling like this after watching a movie, I’ll remember this movie for the rest of my life
I watched a couple of days ago for the first time and I am broken.
@@diemnguyen7335 same
Get over it losers!!!
You can see the sadness in his eyes.
We all miss you Heath Ledger.
:((
Brokeback Mountain is the greatest love story of all time.
- A straight guy.
That AND Her (2013)
Jack Green I think it’s primarily due to the brilliant acting and chemistry between Jake and Heath perfectly cast!
debbie nichols Yes, and the environment. Who wouldn’t want to have a love story in the rockies of British Colombia?
we stan
Yup!
Can’t believe Jake didn’t get an Oscar for this I mean come on. Incredible film and acting and everything right down to the beat. These two men poured their souls into their characters.
So true. Will never forget that scene when he exploded and Ennis what he’s been dying to say in their relationship. It’s really hard to say that you are content with what Ennis’ character can give Jack. All those words he said wad piercing right thru my heart 💔💔 Will never forget when he said that “We could have had a good life together. Fucking real good life. Had us a place of our own. But you didn’t want that Ennis. So what we got now is brokeback mountain.” 💔💔💔😭😭😭
You are absolutely right. Jake gave a beautifully nuanced portrayal of a man who falls in love with another man. (Neither of them out looking for it to happen.) He was completely believable.
I know! I didn't doubt his performance for a second. He played a gay man completely believably. And the way he played the character, with love and compassion that radiated from Jack, it makes me cry just thinking about it.
Yes.he did a great job... like his other movies 🌹🖤but winning an oscar is not that important... SOMETIMES it's just a fucking joke :) agree?
@@sunmoon6862 Agreed with you completely! Traffic won the best picture over Broke back! WTH 😱👎
Gyllenhaal played that role so beautifully. It's all in the eyes. Once Jack realises that Ennis is never gonna make it, all hope is drained from his face.
God yess🥺.. He is one of the greatest actors ever 🌹🖤
"he's the seducer" i hate when people say this. obviously jack was more comfortable with his sexuality because he'd had more experience then ennis did. but i hate that most straight audiences take away from this film is that jack somehow "turned ennis queer", or was more "proud" of his sexuality than ennis. it's so ignorant of clear history and what it was like to be queer during the time in which the film is set. yes, ennis initiates the relationship but it's not like he was a predator or something. he and ennis were clearly getting vibes off of each other for a while, and ennis was too scared to act on them because of what he'd seen happen to openly gay people. a lot people tend to forget that sadly, ennis was right. jack and ennis couldn't just drop everything and start a life together. especially since for the better part of their almost 20 year relationship they both had children to think about.
people forget that they *both* had to live in the closet. just because we see jack regularly having sex with men doesn't mean he's openly gay. he knew about the consequences of their relationship as much as ennis did but he didn't want to face them because he loved ennis too much. of course i'm not saying that jack's murder was his fault, but the dynamic of their relationship has nothing to do with jack somehow being "more gay" or "more seductive" than ennis. it's about ennis being more introverted and realistic about the situation in general. i love both characters but i'm tired of straight audiences misunderstanding the film and misrepresenting the characters.
Well said!
True. Not to mention that the setting of the story was on the time where being gay is hard. You need to hide in the closet. Nowadays, what happened to Jack will very seldom happen anymore. Coz people are more open, tolerant and accepting. This film really broke my heart big time. I watched it million of times already but tears keep falling whenever I watch it coz it’s so painful. I always wish Ennis and Jack’s story happened today so they can be happy and be with each other 💔💔
Yes, all they see is sex, and fail to realize it is the story of two men who happen to fall in love with each other.
thank you!
Preach!!
Jake has certainly changed a lot after heath's death. His interviews were comic and fun with heath but without him he tries to collect the pieces of his broken heart.
He’s back to being comic and fun in his interviews with Ryan Reynolds and Tom Holland so that’s good
@@takejaylor3528 yeah thank god
@@takejaylor3528 Jake is not a widower
@@Tiartchannel huh?
I’ve noticed he seems happy and fun with ppl he’s comfortable with/loves (Jimmy Fallon, Ryan Reynolds, Tom Holland, Tom Sturridge) but he seems pretty awkward and sad when he’s alone with strangers, but that’s just my observation
The sadness part is when ennis found blood shirt .. i can imagine how much he loved ennis 😞.. now, i still cant move from brakeback mountain film.. seriously 😞
that scene literally broke me :(
I'm just going to the corner and cry a little, ok? I miss Heath and I didn't know him.
Yeah I feel like I lost my best friend in the world. I feel like I'll never have a friend like him and I too-never knew him.
Jayden F yes :(
I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels like that!
thank god im not the only one i didnt even know about him while he was alive and after watching brokeback mountain i miss him so much
Me too 😖😖😖
Heath also spoke about being extremely sad after shooting Brokeback. He even said he needed professional help to get over it😔
Really? I never knew this.
what a lie, where did he say that? sad about what?
I had just turned 60 and set in my ways when at a yard sale I ran across this movie "Brokeback Mountain". The lady selling the movie asked me had I seen it and I said "That's a gay movie I don't watch that kinda stuff". She said it was a sad love story with beautiful, mountainous scenery, of which I like. She then said if I didn't like it she'd give me my 3 bucks back. Great movie.
Brokeback Mountain left me devastated, it’s been 2 weeks since I watched it and lord I still cry when I rewatch a few scenes, no other film made me feel like this
Definitely one of the best, if not the best movie I've ever seen. And incredibly sad; I think I felt sad for weeks after watching it for the first time.
Justin Clayton I feel like I can’t bear to watch it again because of how sad it was and it really is heart breaking especially the ending scene with the shirt and the postcard with the picture of brokeback mountain on it I literally balled my eyes out but non the less it was such a beautiful film the best I’ve watched so far
The beginning question was such a good question! As a journalist it's refreshing to hear different questions about this movie.
I watched the film a week ago, I can not stop thinking about the beautiful and tragic love story that the film unfolds, this sincere love that so strongly comes to hurt, suffocates and that lasts for a lifetime, suffocated by fear, I identify myself too much as many people out there who also go through the same situation as Enis and Jack
I’ve seen brokeback once. I never want to see it again. Too heart breaking. Beautiful.
Same
Wow the question about Heath's death really took Jake by surprise! He looks so sad... Love Jake! RIP Heath
when will u guys realize that maybe jake doesn’t want to talk about heaths death 😐 like u do realize they were very close right and it probably still hurts him??
Just watched this movie for the first time a few days ago. First time actually watching one of Heath Ledger’s movies. I was always aware of who he was but never took the time to look into his work. Not sure why. He was truly phenomenal at everything he did. Been mourning his passing and it’s been weighing on me heavily. Hard to do daily activities. I’ve watched so many interviews with him and the documentary on him. I feel terrible for Jake….truly hope he is okay. Time does help ease pain, but it doesn’t fully go away. Heath really isn’t someone easy to simply put out of your mind. A passing that has a real lingering effect.
I love him so much, such an amazing person inside and out, I want to meet him one day and give him the biggest hug❤️
Whenever I feel defeated or hurt by love I go back and watch this movie. It’s the greatest love story ever. ❤️
What a wonderful movies about LOVE
How Ironic, he died in the movie but yet Heith died later in real life , sad
ikr 😞😭😭😭
I saw Brokeback 3 times and it gets me each time...it is a Masterpiece.
apparently Jake Ghyllenhaal was devastated. He is Matilda Rose Ledger's godfather.
hes such a insightful and has this warmth to him?? idk how to explain it but he talks is just soo nice
Beautiful film lovely acting beautiful. Story line just a wonderful film
..i remember being married and having to hide the fact that I was gay. It killed me being married, being secretive, thank god I am now free of marriage and can be myself, a gay happy man. yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
this is NOT an easy movie to recover from
Sometimes Jakes eyes look like the Cowboy character from “Toy Story.” I love this Saggitarius man.
Heath and Jake are both so fucking amazing
Jake and Heath were absolutely brilliant in this movie! I miss Heath so much! Big fan! RIP Heath Ledger ❤
*Host:* "How is Heath's death affect you?"
*Me:* "You insensitive bitch!!" *//fryingpansmash*
Must be sad losing your best friend! That is what Jake and Heath had.
And I still have not forgiven Oscars for taking Best Picture from Brokeback Mountain
Jack Annis forever in my heart
Dare not watch it again. Deep sadness within.
Seems like they made a real connection playing "that" roll.
The shift in him when he have to talk about brokeback mountain everytime. He will go a lil quiet and the devastation still
I think Jake is so tired of always having to talk about brokeback mountain in every interview he does.
Me too
i don't remember jack twist, i remember jack fcking twist
