Gyllenhaal is SO good, most of the time he takes risky decisions as an actor and just goes with them. He's a breath of fresh air in an industry that's becoming more and more stale.

he's had so many amazing roles, i really think his good looks keep him from being taken seriously like leo dicaprio once was. prisoners, enemy, nightcrawler, nocturnal animals, wildlife, all great movies in which he was wonderful in, ignored by the press. only brokeback mountain was recognized. it's kinda sad. hope he at least gets a second nomination soon

October Sky is one of my favorites.
I've watched Nightcrawler half a dozen times.
You people are saying he is just underrated? He is probably the best actor of our generation, look at his track record. October Sky, Donnie Darko, Zodiac, Source Code, End of Watch, Prisoners, Enemy, Nightcrawler and Stronger. I mean he's been in other good films but EVERY SINGLE film I listed there is a phenomenal film, some of them masterpieces largely in part to Gyllenhaal's unbelievable performances.

That doesn't make sense. Any one who is involve in a movie, specially the writers and directors, wouldn't want their movie to be ruined by spoilers. If you are talking about the company, then that's still counts all other movie companies. It is just that marvel movie are making billions so they are extra careful even if there isn't much to spoil.

I don't know about other people, but I find actors and other celebrities that come off a little awkward and nervous in interviews to be a bit more genuine. Being an actor can be tough, but it's usually what they love to do. It doesn't mean they love being the center of attention whenever possible, especially when there's a crowd involved. It's like, "hey, there's a real person there." what makes me "cringe" (as some seem to like to say) is when you have a person who is so high on themsleves they expect everyone to cater to them and be submissive to the point they can't tolerate people making playful jabs or challenging them in any way, shape, or form without clutching their pearls.
So, yeah. I like Jake. Seems like a down to earth and decent guy.
@1kparmar ha! Nowadays, I think that's more an insult. They come at movies looking for things to complain about rather than just enjoy the damn movie. Same as people so hung up on nostalgia they just fill their huggies and throw a tantrum if everyone doesn't hate it as much as they do.

I've yet to find another actor who is as awesome in a music video (The Shoes: Time To Dance) as he is in a Marvel movie. One of the best things about this guy is that even after being Mysterio, he could be back next month in an incredible movie no one ever heard of, and he'll give it everything. I always get the feeling that he's genuinely in it for the chance to tell great stories and give dimension to compelling characters. He's a real artist.
