I am a 46 year old black woman who drives Lyft for a living. I'm very cerebral, and stumbling across this episode of brilliance has warmed my soul today.
I'm only 24 minutes into listening and am excited to hear more of this profound line of thought that you two are bringing.
I use voter abstinence as, what I consider to be, a viable strategy to declare my right to display independence in thought.
I'm all ears, as this episodes may be EXACTLY what I need to fertilize this field of stagnation I find myself standing in, as a result of human disenchantment.

Why I love this class. First, Professor Karen Hunter I was not familiar until Urban View Party of Lincoln Days. She is no holds bar. She as much a teacher as a student. As a teacher she brought us to Dr. Greg Carr. This is a ride of a life time, a time to be that elder for my grandchildren passing on the library that I am building. The questions from folk blesses my heart because they are asking questions what we all are asking. Dr. Greg Carr is like a brother , cousin. Dr. Carr is the real deal!

I want to make two comments. 1) In reference to Dunbar H.S. and basketball, Ms. Karen you may have been doing a sports story on Coach Hughes and the basketball powerhouse out of Stop Six neighborhood of Fort Worth, Texas. He was the most winningest H.S. coach in the U.S from 2005-2010 and is currently the most winningest boys basketball coach.
    2) There's a new app called Clubhouse where conversations can take place. I think it would be dope to have Dr. Carr and yourself moderate a few convos on there. Specifically for recording these oral histories from our elders, I think this could make for a useful tool. Here in Fort Worth, my wife and I often sit at the feet of Mrs. Opal Lee, who campaigns yearly to make Juneteenth a national holiday. The wealth of knowledge we're able to get from the spring is very rejuvenating. Maybe there's a way we can organize on a national level to have conversations with different elders in different cities. Just a thought. Thank y'all for what you're doing.
