Thanks for the additional information. Unfortunately the NYS Parks where we camp their dump stations are not level. I have tried bring additional boards to the dump area to make more level, was much help. Plus additional sanitization of the wood after. I will try this on level ground this spring at home with clear water. Either way it still beats moving the trailer every 5 days.
I like the tote but the issue I have with the 26gal LX is not all fluid evacuates. On each side of the hose storage there is areas that hold fluid. I find I have to tilt mine back and forth to empty those areas. Even with that I always have a little fluid left in those areas. Or am I doing something wrong? The tow handle is great. I have to pull mine about a mile to the camp ground dump station. I use a bungee to secure to the ball.
Hello Tom. We reached out to the product manager at Thetford. Here is his reply (hope it helps) The inside of the SmartTote2 tank is sloped so that all of the fluid in those back pockets goes to the outlet. It’s best to ensure that the tank is on level ground and it will drain on its own. If the tank is tipped up, the front of it won’t drain as well as the ends.
