I had a partner who was very charismatic, went to church every Sunday, was involved in the men’s group; this guy had a very tailored Mask of himself. (He was short and not very attractive btw) However, the mask came off when he was after a promotion and a person was ahead of them for seniority. This guy asked me and my family to call and make fake customer service complaints about their rival co worker. That was the day I saw his true character and loss all respect for them. This is why you have to have to date people for a while and they will reveal and self eliminate themselves. And about the looks, ugly men can be just as poor in character as attractive guys; so don’t date down just because ppl like to assign more virtue to unattractive people.

Another way to tell someone's true character. Is by observing how they treat or respond to others who don't have any power or influence over them. If they can't get anything out of you then their behavior changes. At work this is most commonly.

Yeah, ew, love animals, yes, love roaches, he gotta be bugging!, That wouldn't be a red flag but Black Flag, as in no way! (roach killing spray, lol). I read somewhere recently that crying and laughing do the same things for you internally, so I'd rather laugh and will try to find the funny in every situation. Instantly, I notice my stress decreases. There is a saying that encapsulates this idea perfectly. "You find that offensive, I find it funny and that's why I am happier than you."
