The low profile tires on 4x4 pickups trend can't die soon enough.
On anything really - they are easier to damage (both tire and rims) and ride rougher. Maybe they handle a little better in certain situations but not in any way that makes up for their deficiencies for the majority of drivers.
Would put 35 inch mud tires on my car if I could

This was a great recovery. A dad taking his kids out for a fun day. Regardless of the skill level (Matt driving it out). The dad was having a blast.
I love the sound of that Titan.
I can tell that guys wife berates him for making mistakes. He shouldn't have to feel embarrassed for getting stuck. It happens to the best of us.

If you don’t get stuck sometimes then you are not really off-roading . Dad did the right thing by not trying what Matt did. Matt is experienced off road driver.
Drove a truck for 20 years and I finally got stuck 2 miles from home in snow on the Highway
I would be pretty embarrassed calling someone to come pull you out and them end up driving your vehicle out themselves lol ..gotta love Matt's skills

@@ant1985ish there was a jeep jamboree in my hometown and these guys had these brand new jeeps out there with the whole family getting high centered . I was pulling them off with my xj then going over the obstacles just laughing .. the look on his wife and kids face and his looks was priceless . I'm sure he thought he had the coolest jeep and was going to have a awesome day with his family.first thing the guy said was well I guess it's time for a lift now!!! Lol
I don't know, I think it was the right call. Matt is experienced, those people weren't. Had those people tried the things Matt did it would've been very sketchy, especially after getting themselves in that situation in the first place. No it was the right call...

Randy is such a good ambassador for your service, interactingwith customers and keeping them smiling in what must be quite stressy situations, at times. Oh, and please, please put a compressor in the Pumpkin, when you get to kitting it out. The Banana seems to have an aversion to these devices, but maybe the Pumpkin will be more tolerant. You see the casual way I am rooting for "The Pumpkin" as its name.
Thanks Matt for allowing us to tag along with your adventures and rescues, sometimes I feel as if I'm ease dropping on your personal life especially when Jamie is with you... lol I loved how she said to let her drive,and you navigate then the next thing she has the wheel and yadda yadda you know the rest. Old school trick ,stick floor mats by the tires, then drive over them. Works on snow and ice to. And a floor mat makes a nice shovel if needed to scoop sand and snow out of the way.
Did not think about that. I was going for traction boards ... but that idea is neat in situation like this.
In another video Matt pulls a floormat out from under a tire and says "These work zero percent of the time". He would know.

Just a little reminder. Never think you will not need your tools. “ just going to run out and slide down some sand hill “ always be prepared.
I 100% agree. I was playing a par 3 course this morning and figured I could only get by with 2 wedges but turns out I needed that 56* after all. I likely would not have 3 putted if I had a better approach shot. :)

@@clsboo2348 Sometimes people trip over their words when a camera is shoved in their face, but you can continue being a jerk.
Thats why I keep a tow strap, spare parts and multiple different tool kits in my truck, its never come home on a tow truck but its been fixed roadside multiple times
No telling how many times these guys have needed an air compressor and still don't carry one with them. Blows my mind

So many good 12v electric compressors available too.
more services needs= more money for MOR
not enough times to justify buying one, installing one, or the weight on the sand apparently. I'd still say they do a good job.
Leave the stock wheels too.
Some things I have found interesting watching MORR
1. People that don’t watch regularly say Matt doesn’t know what he is doing, and always has problems. I haven’t seen anything unusual, except stuff that happens. But second guessing and backseat quarterbacking are so fun.
2. So many want to tell Matt what he should do when recovering, get an air tank, get a compressor, etc. I have not seen many videos where it was needed. Personally, I would do CO2 so I could seat a bead easily, but that isn’t a recurring problem.
3. Videos are always fun when Ed and Lizzy are involved or Jaime is along for the ride.
4. Jaime sounds like my wife when off-roading.

I grew up in So-Cal where we had access to all sorts of off road fun.
I now live in the middle of Kansas where we have mud, which to me is not fun.
I really miss the sand dunes of Glamis and Baja, Mexico as well as the hills and mountains of The San Bernardino area.

Not really any skill necessary there. Zero tyre pressure and a big v8 with randy as spotter is more than enough

It truly is amazing how airing down the tires makes a difference in that sand. I tried a particular sandy hill really close to where that truck was stuck. I tried that hill 3 times in my SxS with about 14 lbs of air. Then I aired down to about 8 lbs of air pressure, and the machine climbed right up the sandy hill. Of course, all my buddies teased me after that.
That kid in the back seat is a future you tube star. Knows the deal already.

Nice of the guy to let all the air out so when they go on the highway they blow out their tires. Driving on the highway with low tire pressure wrecks the tire sidewall, it may not be today but the tire will give out. Only deflate if you can reinflate before going on the road it is not worth having a front tire blow out because you ran your tire deflated on the road.
Those titans sound pretty good. Love the way you drive it like you stole it.

My buddy had one with a flowmaster exhaust, sounded heavenly. That truck made about 400hp and was pretty damn fast. He went throught 4 rearends in it over a year under warranty. Nissan cant make a decent rearend worth a damn
@@willmcpherson3760 I have a magnaflow on my 2007 titan. I blew up my rear end drag racing and went with trutrac for a diff and then bought nicer gears (3.73) now it's a beast with over 275k miles (original engine and transmission). I will for sure be buying a new titan soon.

@@willmcpherson3760 Dana makes the rear end in the Titan (Nissan M226). It's a modified Dana 44 with a stronger ring and pinion. Same as in the JK Wrangler with the Dana 44 I think.

It amazes me how long it takes for some folks to catch on! On the new Corvair Matt finally learns that a winch is useful. Maybe another few years and an air compressor might enter his thoughts.

As others have noted, carry a tire-pumping air compressor. Even a tiny $10 one would work, but one of those large $30 ones from Amazon would be great. Also, any portable battery packs can be connected to the vehicle's DC supply via a series light bulb to limit current; that way it'll always be fully charged. Carry on !! Cheers.

I did the same thing at work. Back whem I was an operator my supervisor got his pickup stuck and his fiance who was am engineer for the company was in the passenger seat. I had him get out and I got it unstuck. The girl who was his fiance had a blast as I have it hell amd when we got out she said "see Adam, thats a real man right there! Very awkward moment for me. And yes she was hot lol.
