Rodney Dangerfield jokes about his "scary neighborhood", & it's Williamsburg, NYC in Brooklyn, a poor Jewish 'hood, where he, Don Rickles, Ben Stiller w: Dad Jerry, even Andrew "Dice" Clay, & more mensch lived financially humble Hebrews, & yet family proud to each become comedic stars!💙
Rodney was on fire and still relevant today and makes you laugh constantly . Dom DeLuise to the left was an actor that was very funny as well ,he usually played a likeable character and made a few movies with Burt Reynolds...
Thanks for sharing this Maddy. People always - and rightfully so - talk about how fast Robin Williams was at delivering genius, but I've almost forgotten how Rodney's manic act almost matches Robin's in a parallel comedy universe kind of way. And now, I need to go and watch some Jonathan Winters clips!!!
Rodney was a legend in comedy. He wasn’t very successful when he started in show biz and basically quit but re-emerged with the act that we all know and love. The rest is history. ❤🙏😊
Johnny Carson is a legend! Its crazy how many years has passed since Johnny had left the tonight show. 30 years later and hes still relevant and missed.
Dom DeLuise spoofed Marlon Brando's 'Godfather' in Mel Brooks' "Robin Hood: Men in Tights", & other funny films, so... Great reaction to 2 of the Greats, Maddy!
dom deLuise was in mel brooks' movies. in "blazing saddles" he played the director of the musical that was being shot before the brawl busted through the wall. and he was in "history of the world part 1." he had a horrible obesity problem as he aged. thanks for the video.
"I never got no respect, no respect at all!" Rodney Dangerfield's most famous line and used often in his routines! As was 'Vinnie Boom-batts!' Younger people might not get some of this as the humor was from the 1970s - different world and culture today.
What a great clip! Rodney is usually a runaway train, all you get are his prepared topics and prepared one liners, about 50 of them. Normally Johnny would provide some of the subjects, but not on this night. He tried once but he was too soon (health). Dom was losing it not over the jokes, but at Rodney's super blunt transitions. But all the showbiz ended when Johnny broke out that photo of Rodney when he was known as Jack Roy. I have never seen Rodney be real like that.
To me, the funniest part of this video was when Rodney spoke the "rabbit stayed in critical condition" line, and Maddy had a blank look on her face. Rodney Dangerfield was the funniest comedian in the history of show business. He became famous very late in life...before his comedy days, he sold aluminum siding for homes.
She needed to set this up and say it was on 'The Tonight Show' with Johnny Carson which was a huge show for 30 years until Carson retired in 1992. ANYBODY who was anything appeared on 'The Tonight Show!' Dom Deluise was a great comedian - buddies with Burt Reynolds - and appeared in a bunch of his classic movies!
That gun-to-doll's-head was a promo for "No one's safe-!!" and that's maybe before his "No Respect-!" tagline. Maybe the start of it? "No one's safe from my humor because I get no respect"?
Funzo's Knuckle Room ... a "knuckleroom" is a very old term for a pool hall, where you go to drink and play pool or billiards. I don't know if it was a real joint Rodney was talking about tho.
@@immortaltyger1569 nope, the knuckle is a formal term for a part of the pool table on the bumper /cushion ... so a slang term they came up with for a pool hall is a knuckleroom.
I love that you're a lady. You should be proud. Maybe we can't change the world. But never let the world change you. You're a breath of fresh air. Hello from Texas.
Hey Maddy, Jim here. Nice to meet you, and may I say how lovely you are. I love Rodney. I would say he is my second favorite comedian with George Carlin being my favorite. I do notice you frowning when he puts himself down, but that only proves that you are a caring person with a big heart. Thanks Maddy, that was fun.
Rodney’s always been one of my favorite comedians just a little younger than him so I know him pretty well and Dom Del Louise was one hell of a comedian also and of course Johnny Carson you just hit three in a row good job girl thank you you
RUclips reactors will recognize Dom DeLuise as the Busby Berkeley-parodying Buddy Bizarre in Blazing Saddles. His wife, Carol Arthur, played Harriett Johnson in the same film.
As an 80 year old Brit, living in the US for over 40 years, I must point out, that the picture Johnny Carson showed, of Rodney, shooting the doll, was actually a picture of the British comedian, Ken Dodd. Ken Dodd was a much loved comedian from Liverpool. 😁
You seemed a little confused about the rabbit comment by Rodney. In the days before home pregnancy tests, you used to have to go to the doctor to get tested. From what I understand, it involved a rabbit. If the rabbit died, it meant that you were pregnant. Aerosmith made a reference to it in "Walk This Way" when Steven Tyler sings, "..but you can't catch me, cause the rabbit done died."
That blank look on your face when he mentioned about "the rabbit not dying but staying in critical condition" made me chuckle. From 1931 to the early 60's the A-Z Test was a popular test for pregnancy (98.9% accuracy rate). A women's urine was injected into a female rabbit, after about 48 hours they would dissect the rabbit and if its ovaries were enlarged meant the woman was pregnant.
Maddy - for something else really funny, I recommend: Kevin Bridges: "I once accidentally bought a horse." | Would I Lie To You? It's 6 minutes 47 seconds and is one of the funnies things I've ever seen.
@@MaddyReactions Oh, yeah. Here's a sample of his style of comedy from a bit he did on SNL, in case you're curious. ruclips.net/video/iUL1l2TrjtM/видео.html Many others of his out there, just waiting for you. Love the channel, Maddy.

I have been around a while, and I think this is the prettiest face and prettiest most sincere smile I have ever seen. Love watching these videos .

Agreed 100%
yeah she is nice to look at
Awesome reaction. Glad to see young people enjoying old school, SEMI CLEAN, comedians.
Rodney was a genuinely nice and warm giant. His life story is amazing.
Dom and Johnny were not laughing at the jokes as much as laughing about some of them bombing. It was like an inside joke between professionals.
Thanks for sharing this Maddy. Thanks Maddie! Was one of my favorites. You got it about Rodney's joke telling.😅😅.
except the first joke, she didn't get it

Comedy rarely holds up 10 or 20 years ago, but 50, it's pretty nuts. Love me some Rodney
Hey, what was not to love?
Rodney Dangerfield had great comedic timing.
Rodney and Carson. Legendary duo.
Watching more Johnny Carson would be a good path.
Two great comedic actors and comedians... thanks Maddy
Dom DeLouis was a comedic actor, he was so damn funny in is own way on TV and movies
I think that he was at his most hilarious in the Burt Reynolds dark-comedy movie "The End".
The good old days when you can just laugh and who cares what they were talking about!
Back when late night shows where actually good. The Tonight show and the late night show are shells of what they used to be.
Yes Chaplin was in silent films. I love your reactions Maddie.
❤️
"Her cooking is so bad, the flies in the neighborhood took up a collection to get my screen door fixed!" - R.D.

🤣
Rodney was rapid fire. He had his list of stuff he had instant jokes for. The jokes were funny, but his delivery made it even better.
Dom DeLuise spoofed Marlon Brando's 'Godfather' in Mel Brooks' "Robin Hood: Men in Tights", & other funny films, so... Great reaction to 2 of the Greats, Maddy!

It's his timing, it's perfect. That picture he said was 60 years ago, of his dad, was in 1914 .

Funzo's Knuckle Room ... a "knuckleroom" is a very old term for a pool hall, where you go to drink and play pool or billiards. I don't know if it was a real joint Rodney was talking about tho.

Notice how Johnny gets sits back and sets him up and doesn't try to outdo or match Rodney's energy.

I find Rodney's humor rather hit and miss, but that "You'll be drinking early today" line had me laughing as much as Johnny did. Thanks Maddy!

Nobody else like Rodney!!!! The BEST, we all miss you. 🥰😘
"For rent" my favorite punchline.

That pause between jokes is part of what comedians call comedic timing.
So true!
Rodney was very funny even today.

The reason milk was over 238$ was that even the supermarkets in Vegas have slot machines.
Charlie, came over from England where he did a popular stage act and went on the Vaudeville circuit before he went to Hollywood
Rodney was the original ROFL artist.

Thank you! Will do!

Wow, thank you!
Rodney had great comedic timing. And Mandy is very cute! She gets respect. :)
For me Rodney is the King of one liners.
Let's all go back to the 70s so we can laugh
I’m down! The fashion was cool

Rodney Dangerfield. Don Rickels. George Carlin. These were classic comics
Tonight Show's Doc Severinsen's Thanksgiving story. was the best.
He was a master of self-deprecation and rapid-fire jokes. Miss him. Check out Don Rickles too.
So some quick math that Caplin photo was taken about 105 years ago now.
See Rodney in 'CaddyShack' (1980).' Hilarious!
Finally subscribed. You are such a beautiful lady.
