I love your videos and your coasters. I think most of us have failures, but we don’t always talk about them. Keep going, I personally always learn something new from you.
Thank you so much!☺️
They are all beautiful. My favorite is the darkest one. No borders.
I look forward to watching your videos in the morning with my coffee. Thank you for taking the time and energy to create beautiful resin pieces! 💕
You are so welcome!🤗
They all turned out so pretty, and what a surprise you got the crackle effect on 3 of them! Yes, you should do another crackle effect coaster, please! 😊 Thanks for doing this experiment. It's so good to see how they turn out using other color mediums. I think a silver edge could be nice but they are also pretty as they are. I'm so glad I found you, love your videos!❤
They all turned out beautiful. No edge.😊❤
Yes on the sticker! No edges, they are pretty enough!!
so beautiful Michelle! No border, less is More.
I love the dark purple and blue it's my favorite. But I really like the flower in the other one. Yes please on the silver edges.
😊❤😊
I love them just the way they are. Thank you for all your videos. They are so helpful. ❤
Glad you like them!😊
My favorite is the last one you unmolded. It reminds me of space and that glitter you added to the top coat are the distant stars. Just gorgeous.
I don't know about the edges but those crackles on the back were definitely a surprise. Shows who did them though lol Mr. Glitz's the only one not crackled on the back. Too funny.
✌️❤️🤣 peace, love and happiness
Those turned out BEAUTIFUL ❤❤❤❤
Love them just the way they are definitely don't need an edge
Yes border-silver. Love them all
They turned out so pretty❤❤ I think silver edges would give them a little more flair❤❤
The crackle on the backs. Wow! You definitely need to try crackle effect again. All the coasters are beautiful. The on with the flowers has a kind of galaxy feel to it that makes it my favorite. 🎉
These are definitely beautiful on their own with no edge colour, loving the purple one.I do think your glitter no matter how much you may have to cover the other centre would be better than the sticker.loving your style of resin art thanks for sharing 🎉🎉
Thank you so much!
They are very pretty, I say no borders.
They look pretty just the way they are
Love them as they are
Love them both the glitter center is a perfect color, I normally don't like the stickers in the middle but this sticker is PERFECT!!!
Thank you so much 🤗
OOOooooooo, the alcohol ink coaster reminds of of Aurora Borealis! Beautiful! Both of them..
No failures! As Bob Ross used to say, "Happy accidents."❤
Love the color combo. They turned out pretty
I ❤️ them. I love watching your videos. While watching this one it started at 158 and went up to 203 views. Keep on doing what you do. I for one can't wait for the next video!!
They came out amazing, no border.
I really like the way they all turned out. I am torn about the edge. I love them the way they are but I also like them when you put the edge on.
Love all the coasters!!! ❤ I don’t think they need an edge 🤷🏼♀️❤️❤️
They came out beautiful michelle
Great vibrant colors!
No on the edge those turned out awesome ❤❤
Cool experiment! And the alcohol ink one reminds me of the scene of Aurora. I prefer no edges this time.
All really pretty. Think edging would like nice on these.
I love both of them ❤
I like them with an edge but that’s just me looks more finished . They turned out very pretty
They all turned out pretty 😍. Learned something new today. I really enjoyed the live you should do them more often ! Thank you
Thanks ☺️
Love them. ❤❤❤
So beautiful
All of these turned out amazing.
They are all beautiful! My coasters are always way prettier on the back side. Who knew? I think I'll try your method and see what happens!
The alcohol ink one reminds me of the northern lights when I lived in Alaska!❤❤❤
Cool!!
I don't think they need an edge. But this proves my point that micas stick to the silicone. You have to have a translucent or clear on the bottom. Thanks Michelle, they are lovely 😍
Very interesting, I honestly thought that mica would have to be an ingredient. Good result 🎉
When you demould the other side will have a different affect so you can get two choices which is awesome
I like them.
It was the best live I've been included in! The demonstration wasn't super long, but after we talked for a long time. I enjoyed chatting with Michelle and Don and all the crafters!!
Glad you enjoyed it! 🤗
They look great
Yes!
They look gorgeous! No edges needed I think. Such beautiful work, thanks again. 😍😁👍
Lovely Michelle. 💚 I added a post on your Glitz & Glitter group of some I did 4 years ago. I never used white. Maybe I’ll have to go back and revisit geodes. 🇦🇺
I saw that they were gorgeous!
I have to say I love all four of them ❤ There is always an element of surprise when you demold. I absolutely love these. ❤
The blue green one reminds me of the aurora borealis
Yes😊
Those turned out really nice! I haven't tried any geodes yet, but I'm fixin' to order one of your molds, so I can venture into these. I'll definitely try this method.
Beautiful ❤ I noticed that the inks looked more transparent compared to the micas. I really don't like the look of anything in the middle as I feel it detracts from the beauty, but that sticker was so cute!
Loving them! And loving the new upload times. I don't have to wait until morning to watch 💜
Wow both look great 😊
Yes
Going back to my painkiller induced sleep.
Put some gold please. 😊 excuse wild typing. 😅
😁
Thank you for doing this experiment. This has been my question for a while. Conclusion: you don’t need to use mica powders to get a geode pattern. I shall be trying this with pigment paste in the near future!
Also I loved the results. The acrylic one looked like a supernova to me and the alcohol one looks like sun reflecting underwater. I know it was the mold peeking through, but I also really liked the idea of white centers! Very different from what I’ve seen and beautiful! 😍
I did use micas for the white in both of them.
They are gorgeous! Beautiful colour combinations! I love them!❤ no border.😊
Yes
Love them all! The darker one is my favourite 🎉 no border! 😊
YES
They both are so beautiful. Love the shimmer coating 😊
"Happy accidents" is what Bob Ross says!
Yep!! 😁
No silver or gold looks classy W/o
I really think the blue green alcohol one looks a lot like tie die. It’s way too bad you didn’t have a Grateful Dead bear sticker! Lol
Also, I really love the first real and white and blue, but they’re all beautiful! Congrats!
They turned great, very pretty colors and designs ❤❤❤
They both turned out pretty. I'm going to say yes to the edge. I've always seen geode coasters with edges. It's part of what makes them a geode. It's supposed to mimic the outer rock. It's one of the few coasters I will ever edge because I normally don't like the metallic edge. The only other kind I edge is a multilayered one to hide the layers. ❤
Yes sticker. 😊. They came out so pretty. For the pump resin did you let it get to a certain temperature? Yes do silver on the edges.
No I pour right away so it can move a long time
Silver border
Hey, Michelle, I mentioned this before, but have you considered using a glass heat mat? I love mine.
I never heard of a glass one, I’ll have to find one!!
You can take a syring at the 20 min mark and suck a bit out and get rid of that white in the middle
I like them ,now a idea just popped up when you get your new heat mat could you glue it to a piece of plastic class to stop it from wrapping or to a wooden board the same size or is that a firer hazard?
I have a piece of plexiglass and it warped it on the first try, someone mentioned a glass heat mat I need to look into.
😊❤
I missed the first part of the live but really enjoyed watching the rest.
I do not think these need an edge on them.
Michelle, you said something about this working for round molds. Would it work with an oblong mold? How would you do that?
You can rewatch the live in my channel if you want to, yes you can do it in an oval, just pour following the edge in an oval shape instead of a circle.
Suck the center out about 30 min into curing process. Slowly and not all the way to the bottom of the mold with the syringe. Suck up only until the center closes. Then your center will be closed. I like it when the center glitter fades out from the center circle as a halo or you can make it an irregular fade. I like the organic look.
I always forget that trick!! Every time 🥴
No paint the edge
Wow theyre real pretty i think the darkest one is the best for me but nooooo please dont edge them they're pretty as is
Very nice! Did you see any notable difference between the acrylic ink and the alcohol ink?
Acrylics have a more vibrant color but that’s about all the difference
Stive McDonald puts the silver or gold pen on the inside of the mould before he puts the resin into it.
I usually use metallic mica powder when I do it that way
I didn't realize that the Top of the mold would be the front I thought it was the bottom so I did mine wrong but maybe I will still get a cool effect 🤷♀️
You just never know with resin! Part of the fun 😁
Yes I always call it a artsy Science experiment🤣
No border!!!
Very pretty and I’m tempted to start… I don’t have acrylic ink. Can I use acrylic paint and add something to create acrylic ink?
Try the paint, I bet it will work!
For use in resin, no. And if you mean acrylic craft paint definitely not. Plus it will be much more opaque.
For canvas art I know you can take artist grade acrylic paint and thin it with distilled water and use it like an acrylic ink. But you can't put water in resin.
There are also a lot of other mediums in acrylic paints that may affect how it reacts once thinned that may make it act very different than the inks.
The 12 color set of Mont Marte Inks Michelle uses are only about $20 that's very cheap for a set of inks to start out working with.
If you have any transparent resin dye or resin pigment (they are the same) you can use it in place of an ink and get very similar results.
You may be able to use it as is and get a geode like pattern, but it will be more opaque.
Beautiful.. how deep are your molds
1cm or 1/4”
Hi its me again 😊 in your video you spoke about the heating mat you use to cure your resin. What heat setting do you have it on? I have just got one and it has heat settings 1 to 6 and I'm at a loss which is best! Also, can I warm my resin on the mat before I use it? Is there an ideal temp for the resin to be at? Thank you so much for all these vedios you have made, they are certainly giving me such help and inspiration. Your very much appreciated 😊😊😊😊😊
I wouldn't heat the resin or it will start to cure and you don't want that in a geode pour. You will want it to move as long as possible. Don't turn the heat mat on until it has stopped moving, probably a couple hours after pouring is safe. I have 3 settings on mine and I use medium and high usually.
Woops 😅 ok, well I know better now for next time then lol. 2 have sort of come out ok, the 2 I tried with the acrylic ink are pants tho, but I'm sure my grandaughters will love them for their room. I'll post them in the Facebook group. Thanks again 😊
Where do you get that paper under the coasters? Is it prefolded or do you fold it? All the coasters are so pretty!
It’s pre folded parchment paper from Sam’s club, 500 sheets to a box. I have them for my bakery but use them here now 😁
Thanks! No Sam's club in Canada. I will keep looking. @@glitznglitterbymichelle1
I tried to watch the live one but couldn't find the channel :(

No stickers
I was wanting to ask what kind of piping bags are you suppose to use? I got some from the dollar store and they are like real thick, hard to use.
Disposable ones. I usually get 8 or 10 inch plastic disposable ones. You get about 100 of them for around $5 at the place that sounds sort of like amazing. I would name it, but YT doesn't like that and removes the posts...don't know why. 🤔
I linked the ones I use in the description box
Thank you!
whats the name of the light with the shelf in it ?
Thats linked in the description box under dual UV light
