I’m having this problem on a vehicle I just bought as well. A 2007 Lincoln MKX. I’ve watched about a dozen videos on this topic and your video is 1,000,000% better than all the others . GREAT JOB GAVE ME THE KNUDGE I NEEDED WITH YOUR DETAILED VIDEO.
I’ve got a 2017 interceptor utility 3.7, it’s got rapid converter clutch cycling through the gears except in 6th. It works normal once in 6. You can feel it and watch the tachometer, it’s in and out every 3-4 seconds, especially annoying 30-35 mph. The fluid didn’t look too bad, changed out 6 quarts, no change. 122,000 miles. No codes, it will shudder some at lower speeds when cycling. Thanks
How would someone know for definite diagnosis if its the TCM or the Clutch or bearing or some other issue with the transmission. Have you got any detailed guides on the shudder and what to expect for all thw fault codes
Thank you for this great video, I am about to tackle this job on my 07 edge, would you put in a new cover gasket (perimeter and connector) or do you reuse the old ones ?
Any tips for working the transmission cover off and on? The turbo/intercooler (I think?) pipe keeps getting in my way, took me a long time to take all the bolts off with just a ratchet and afterwards it kept getting stuck behind the pipe, hopefully looking to speed up the process of torquing it back on. It's on an Explorer so it could possibly be slightly different but the layout looks basically the same as in the vid
I have a 2011 ford taurus that I had the pcm replaced with a used one and it was reprogrammed to match the VIN. Do the Valve body have to be reprogrammed to? The old pcm had the 2.77 ratio I had to change it to 3.17
Appreciate that buddy, I had a code on these recently P090C, the mechanic was adamant it was the clutch, so we opened it and found that one of the forks were broken. After replacing a new clutch from Lux, we now are getting the sensor issue on clutch b and no reverse still
@BigBensCarsAndCycles excellent thank you, very much appreciated. I have a total of 6 ford focus cars off the road with Auto transmission faults. I only buy and sell
Hello! I have a 14 Taurus that I think may have this issue. How did you determine this was the issue rather than a bad Torque converter or other trans issue? We're there any codes thrown for this issue?
Hi! There were no codes. The delay occurred during shifts. If the torque converter were shuddering, that would have pointed me in that direction. That would feel more like jerkiness.
Thanks for the quick reply! Mine will have delayed shifts randomly but my biggest issue is rough up shifting and sometimes downshifting. I think i might just replace my solenoid body then. Was there any parameters that you checked on a scan tool to verify?@BigBensAutoDiagnostics
@infinitewho Since it's delayed when shifting its most likely a solenoid pack issue, definitely worth replacing. You'll need to program the new strategy with forscan and reset adaptive tables. And you're very welcome!
@@BigBensCarsAndCycles I do have loss of engagement for reverse. It clicks and shifts into drive and park but I feel zero in the transmission even when touching by hand while shifting into reverse

You can drain and fill it 2 more times then add lubegard shudder fix on the final fill. Then drive it hard for a while to work the additive in
Thanks!
👍

I snapped one of the 8mm bolts on the cover. Any idea what the part number could be?

Glad the video helped. I would replace both if they've never been changed out
Thank you so much. It makes sense

Hi, if convenient you can remove the duct that's in the way. At least one side of it to get some movement in it

Yeah, I'm fairly certain on a 2011 you'll need to program the strategy. There's a sticker on top of the transmission with the strategy and solenoid id
Hi Can you do a longer video on the DPS6 ford focus common issues with the transmission, discussing all the faults codes. I buy them from auction.
Okay 👍

Hello i want to know where i can buy the solenoide Valve for my Ford Edge 2008

So if I swap out a used transmission, do I have to program it?
Yeah just the solenoid strategy
How we can reprogram that piece,
😊
ForScan

Would this be the same for a 2016 explorer AWD 3.5 xlt with no tow package 6soeed
Yes. If you have loss of engagement though,2016s also had an issue with the direct clutch hub losing it's snap ring. loss of reverse, 3rd and 5th
@@BigBensCarsAndCycles would that be a rebuild type of thing that would fix or would it total the transmission
@@BigBensCarsAndCycles I do have loss of engagement for reverse. It clicks and shifts into drive and park but I feel zero in the transmission even when touching by hand while shifting into reverse
@ellijamitchell9316 if it's missing 3rd and 5th too then you need a new transmission or a full overhaul
Why would you need to do this. How do you know you do ?
Firm delayed shifts. Usually into reverse, 3rd or 5th
