😂you made me smile real big this evening! I ask you a week or two ago if you would mind dropping in some shots of trains from time to time and low and behold, you did! My wife and I stopped RVing last year after 22 years because of our age. We were never full time but have been in all 48 states plus Canada. I'm a retired Metrolink train operator and have loved trains all my life. I travel vicariously with you now and love it. Keep up the great show and safe travels. See Tracks! THINK TRAINS!
I remember camping at Morro Bay in the late 60s. Three days of non-stop rain! We were in a van and a Hi-Lo trailer (15' hitch to bumper)! Yet, we were soooo grateful. Why, well as kids we normally wouldn't have been. We'd have probably driven our folks CRAZY with the whining! Late sixties though, the campground was packed with hippies going to or from SF's Haight-Ashbury area. We could see teens and young adults with no shelter, soaked sleeping bags, trying to find ways to huddle together and find scraps that could be used to create makeshift shelters. My sisters and I were very, very grateful we had our tiny, cozy, rainproof trailer!! Lol
I use the Archoil products on my SD and haven’t had any dispensing issues. Just uncap the long neck after squeezing the 40 ounces needed for a fill up but NOT the other cap, it vents itself from the long neck stem. Hope this helps. Safe travels, God Bless, really enjoy you guys! 👌🇺🇸
Oh gee Charlie and his sister look so much alike. So much fun to see them play. Tricia your food always looks so amazing. Interesting to see how they fill up with water to fight the fires. Hugs to Charlie. Enjoyed watching and thanks.
Some of those big helicopters come to Australia during the winter in the US, I remember a big orange one called “Elvis” being stationed here in my city quite often. Cheers guys, Stuart 🇦🇺
Wow, I have so many memories from those areas too! I grew up in Templeton, and my grandparents had a ranch in SLO before retiring in Morro Bay. Spent countless days as a kid at Morro Bay Beach by the rock and over at Pismo Beach. It really was heaven on earth back in the 80s! Sadly, now it feels like it's become a playground for the rich. Such a beautiful area, but it’s tough to see how it’s changed.
We just camped at Morro Bay Campground this summer and right across the street there's a marina but there's a little restaurant in there talk about the best clam chowder I think I'm going back just for the chowder😅 chowder chowder chowder
Well Marc, I know a real man would never kick a fellow man when he is down, but I hope it is okay if I chuckled a little bit? That scene at the truck stop was priceless. Sadly (maybe happily) all of us RVers have been there..... and despite my chuckles(well maybe a bit of all out laughter) I felt for you. S*** er Stuff does happen from time to time that makes us feel just a tad smaller shall we say. However it looks like you two are having a roaring good time. Trish we love your "rv" recipes as well. An amazing meal at our campsite is one of the pure joys of this type of travel. Your videos are just such a great capture of real life RVing. Continued safe travels to you both.....
Spectacular vista views, Trish's laughter & Mark's balance 'beam' on the trailer -- Charley & sister pup playful 'intact' 🦮🤗. Wonderful extravaganza of an excursion but simplicity at its finest too -- keep "routing" those roads👌😉
A friend of mine used to live in San Luis Obisbo. We made many trips to wineries, Morro Bay and a berry farm on a road between San Luis and Morro. Was such fun to pick a variety of fresh berries. We had our kiddos with us and they have fond memories of the many visits to the area. Love a B & B in Cambria that I have stayed at 3 times. Hoping to take my DIL on a camping trip to Cambria soon. A girls only car trip camping experience.
Mountain Valley, a hidden gem on the road trip travel adventure. Noisy from the tows, but when the day is done, it's quiet. This is our regular stop for a night's stay. The fires have a lot to answer for.
“Definitely a boy” oh man that cracked me up. Morro Bay State Park Campground is near and dear to my family. We camped there many times over the years. It is THE best campground for golfers ! Great video👊
You are in my town! Morro Bay State Park has a great little hike up Black Mountain right from the campground. You can walk to the marina, rent kayaks, and paddle to the rock right next to the sea otters. No visit would be complete without a tour of the infamous Hearst Castle in San Simeon. Yes, Sensorio is a must-see - it is like nothing you've ever encountered. Clearly you need to come back to SLO area another time!
Sorry you had some frustrations this round but appreciate you sharing! It made for a great episode and helps us RV'rs remember even the pros have some dips. Looking forward to seeing you in the PNW!!
I’ve had that griddle for about a year now. It’s held together fine. Watch the cheap screw on the lid hinge. Also I don’t store the drip man in its slot anymore. Lost mine carrying it suitcase style somewhere. Took Blackstone a month to get a new one but they sent it for free. Love the videos.
Marc & Trish always good to see you guys every Sunday. I’ve been following you on Zwift for a few months now and I gotta say you are a machine on that trainer. You put in a lot of work and it shows too. Enjoy.
Also it looks like that Blackstone doesn’t have as much wind ingress if that makes sense, would you say it is less susceptible to high winds than normal blackstones?
Thank you. Not a lot of activity there recently as we've been out on the roads, which is nice. I editing out a clip of why we like it so much. I could have gone out for a ride here - found a good route, but when we travel, I spend half my time trying to find the right turn and when I get back, it wasn't really that great. The Zwift is a sure thing.
You just loosen the fill cap to fill the arch oil reservoir Then pour it in. The main cap is just used to fill the container at the factory. On my 2nd bottle of Archoil. Good stuff.
Great video! BTW I used to watch Sunday nights after dinner but now find that I feel better about things if I watch after my workout, drinking my bubbly water and eating blueberries on Monday morning.....in our campervan, of course! :)
The sky cranes are so fun to watch, they can lift a lot, but are slow, that other male helicopter are amazing as well. I have stories on them. :-) don't feel bad Marc i could never finagle a ride with them either.
All those hours out of the way and back to the coast for a glider ride... and no glider ride. UGH! I can feel your pain Marc during your "Reset" at the Truck Stop. Haha!
Hey Trish and Marc, I have a red kyd hat, a great cookbook and just used the bourbon BBQ blend ! Love it! Honk your horn and say hi if you drive by Roseville on your way to Tahoe! You are always welcome at our house!
Marc, Stick with Archoil, I've been using it for years and love it. Always put the additive in before you fill with fuel. Fill the measured part of the bottle and when you tip the bottle up to empty it have the long tube facing out so when it's tipped up it's against the bed of the truck.
"I have to take one extra step! Pull off, back up a little bit, get back in the truck, take the little wedges out, get back in the truck, pull forward, pick them up and then put them away." Oh my God, the horror of it all! Look around you man! You are living the dream of many of us!!
Did anyone else get completely motion sick watching this video? Me and my hubby did! But other than that great video. I live in morro bay and love that you visited. Looking forward to the next one!
after watching this episode, I had to laugh because while completing crossing ND in a day, I had gone to the Pismo beach episode just a few hours earlier to listen to Josh Garrells and watch the fun on the beach. I think it's one of my favorite episodes not only because of the music, but because of Caleb and Charlie running on the beach. Miss that boy, but glad he's spreading his wings - he's going to be a huge success. Of course, Charlie is just precious and always will be. I'm enjoying him and his sister playing together.
Another great video. Marc I took your recommendation on tires from the last video and installed those Michelins on my F150. Wow what a difference so much quieter and ride great. Thanks for the tip
Ok, you guys really need to plan on being in Morro Bay when the Lighthouse Century happens. It’s in September and it truly one of the best organized rides in California.
Hello KYD! Love watching your videos! Traveling can make it seem tough to make good food choice. Trish, I know this is a camping/travel channel , but is there a chance you could talk more about your meals you make? They always look amazingly yummy… and healthy. Thank you for sharing your wealth of information and your sunny personalities with us! Stay safe. 🧭❤
Moro Bay is my decompress/reset place. It’s not too far from Ventura County, and is always calming for me. Always stay in one of the Mom&Pop hotels (no RV yet), and just hang around the Rock. Hope you enjoyed it…
I’ve had the same issue with the Archoil bottle so it made me laugh out loud to see your experience with it 😂. Seems to be troublesome when it’s a newer bottle… Was great to meet you @ Cannon Beach! Naples,FL
Hi, just starting to watch. I’m in St Petersburg and drove by your house. All looked well. Yay, Morro Bay State Park. My husband was a ranger there and we lived in the park, many years ago.
Central Coast is one of our favorite places to visit. It could be because we have 3 daughters and 6 grandkids there. 😊 We have stayed in that little RV park in Tehachapi next to the airport, too. I'm so sorry your gliding plans didn't work out.
I had to look it up. Yup there is a 10-20 fee to use the dump station not included in your camping fee. I’ve been to Tehachapi many times it’s very nice and the windmills just have me in Awh. They are so big and there are so many. I love the farmers stop at the bottom in Bakersfield. Can’t wait till next weeks episode.
funny we were coming back from a rv trip to the Sequoias, down the 5, and cal fire was picking up water for the fire on the 5, cars backed up going north for miles. We were going to take the 58 from the 5 to Barstow, but didn't want to chance the wind.
If you get up past San Fran, check out the Bolinas Ridge trail. Back in the late 80’s a buddy and I did it on mountain bikes. As we were riding along the actual ridge, we came upon several bikes laying off the trail. As we got closer we saw (and smelled) a group of locals doing some serious doobies.
Hi Marc, As you know, there’s a science to everything. I use Archoil. I believe we had same issue. When filling measure tube, crack open main cap to break vacuum if filling is difficult. Close main cap before adding to tank. Thanks for sharing all your episodes with us!
Another great video. I follow you guys every week. We plan on getting out there with our RV maybe in a few years. I didn't like the $5.29/gallon for diesel though. (Our truck is gas) We plan on doing Texas, Arizona, and maybe New Mexico after the first of the year. Drive safe.
Marc, you do know that the orange leveling blocks that you use hook together like 'legos' and you can form a "pyramid" 4 inches high if you wanted and the pyramid allows you to drive up "the ramp". You must know, but I thought it worth mentioning. Happy travels!
Just pull forward off the Anderson blocks. I do the forward and backward shuffle to get off mine but I don't get out of the truck who ever I'm with, normally my teens, pull them up
What brand of area rugs do you have in your Airstream? Lots of FB posts about avoiding rubber backed rugs. Thanks! Really enjoy your episodes - helpful hints about campgrounds, accessories for the AS and of course Tricia's recipes!
Marc....get the Love App and Card (get card inside). Then you tie EFS to Loves account and you can turn on the pump and pay for diesel/DEF all from within the cab of your truck. Just jump out and start pumping. Really nice!!! You can pour your diesel treatment into the diesel nozzel before you put the nozzle in the truck...problem solved.
That is cause the diesel conditioner goes in THEN the fuel (via a longer THIN funnel) so as to mix AFTER the fillup... The funnel allows the condy bottle to be turned up higher to allow it to properly drain at its proper angle...Happy trails...GB
Just take the cap off the small side. Squeeze the oil from the large side to the small container while upright. When it's filled to the proper level, dump the small container in the tank. Never remove the cap from the larger side. You should only fill the small side half full for your 40gal tank.
I can’t believe you went to Tehachapi and missed the world famous “Tehachapi loop”, you’ll have to go back. One of the 7 wonders of the railroad world.
Idk if someone said it but that aluminum grill with non stick coating is not supposed to be used with metal utensils. That will effect it's longevity. I love mine.
I'm pretty sure we stayed in exactly the same spot at Morro Bay this summer. We have a tiny camper van. It must have been tight for your Airstream! Good thing you have your own bathroom, we were not impressed with the state of the facilities there!
We've stayed in Tehachapi at this same campground & had a great time watching the gliders take off & land. Hope you get to go back in the future because you'll really enjoy it. & can't wait for next YT - you'll be in my backyard, Big Sur/Monterey County& Bay/Salinas Vly, salad bowl of the world topped off with great wineries❤.
I just recently found your channel. I am curious as to what you are using to capture all of your videos, especially on the road. Do you have a video that discusses what you use or could you list what you do use.
don't go back to the hotshots. Archoil is so much better. I always press to fill to line and have the long neck up and pour. Ive in the past put it in first then pump diesel that way the diesel washes it all down. What did A-rod say , first or last. I try to calculate how many gallons I'll need first. You must of had a bad day. LOL. We've all had them. Have fun out there
1st helicopter is a CH-47D Chinook. 472CH (2CH) used to fly for Columbia Helicopters but now it looks like PJ Helicopters is flying it with their paint scheme now. I used to work at Columbia Helicopters and went on a few fires along with that aircraft when I was on a Columbia BV107-II crew. Miss chasing wild land fires in a helicopter. 2nd one is a Siller Helicopters Sikorsky S-64E Skycrane. Probably couldn't fly because of a TFR for fire fighting assets.
Bought that Blackstone as well. I agree, love the form factor but feels a bit cheap. Time will tell. BTW, the legs on the Blackstone are adjustable. Very convenient and easy to level.
As soon as I saw the Chinook with the water hose I knew you would not be going up on the glider. All air traffic stops around fires. I also hope all people know that you should NOT be flying drones around fires. They have enough to worry about with the crazy air currents happening from fires to worry about other aircraft/drones. Sorry you didn't get to go.
So I have a Anderson vs wheel block question for ya. You use Anderson for the 2+ block area (but they only go up to like 3.5"). What do you do for the significantly more unlevel spots? I had a spot earlier this year that was 6" off left to right. I ended up calling the office and moving to a different site, but that's not always possible. Just curious what you do in those situations. Thanks!
Yes, I'd say they would go to about 3.5" Honestly, anything more, I try to find a different spot on the site or a new site. I don't like being 6" off. Makes the door shut weird and miss our step when getting in. Sometimes you have to and I guess I'd make a pyramid or ramp with the leveling blocks to make it easier to get onto.
lol the comment “that looked like a boy to me” was hilarious lol
I laughed out loud as well.
I almost spit my drink out 😂
Looks like your "boy" helicopters are fighting a wildland fire somewhere. 😂
We watch on our TV so there’s no commenting. I just came to my phone to type the Same Exact words!!!! 😂😂😂
Great video as always!! Thanks for sharing!!

you beat me to it😂
And how about adding the Arch Oil before you fill the tank, not after.
Yes, ALWAYS add the Archoil before you fill up at any level. 🇺🇸
Oh gee Charlie and his sister look so much alike. So much fun to see them play. Tricia your food always looks so amazing. Interesting to see how they fill up with water to fight the fires. Hugs to Charlie. Enjoyed watching and thanks.

Looked a like boy... Classic!!!
Hey you hit the jackpot. Tricia looks to be a great chef.

Happy Sunday Everyone
🏆
We love it here on the central coast - thanks for swinging though. Hashtag Kalibsdad. Hah!! I love it! 🤣
That’s why I carry a funnel and a measuring cup for Archoil 🤣🤣🤣

I should have mentioned that. The wind prevention is maybe the best part.
If you are coming up the Oregon coast it is not too far out of your way to hit Beaverton where you could do the glider planes.
Love me some Sunday vibes with the Leach's. ❤
You just loosen the fill cap to fill the arch oil reservoir Then pour it in. The main cap is just used to fill the container at the factory. On my 2nd bottle of Archoil. Good stuff.
“Not going to plan”…love how you guys keep rolling with the punches.
Love Sunday nights ❤ even though I didn’t get to watch until Monday evening 😅🩷

CH-46 Chinook Boy Helicopter 👍🇺🇸😎
Loved the music and scenery!
Great video! One of our favorite campground is Montana de Oro Isley Creek 😊
We’ve stayed at the Rv park in tehachapi a few times, not a lot of frills, but very clean and well run.
Agreed. All we need really.
We bought a small camping blackstone last year, also nonstick. Ours has a side burner. So far so good! We really like it. Great video!
Tiny Hand is back!!!! Thurston Howell the Third must not be far behind! 🙂

Don't give up on Arch Oil! Pop the seal on the big cap side and reinstall the cap. Then use the smaller side.
Ok, you guys really need to plan on being in Morro Bay when the Lighthouse Century happens. It’s in September and it truly one of the best organized rides in California.

Hi, just starting to watch. I’m in St Petersburg and drove by your house. All looked well. Yay, Morro Bay State Park. My husband was a ranger there and we lived in the park, many years ago.
Adding adjustable feet to the bottom of the Blackstone is easy with Rivnuts. Allowing for easiest leveling.

These fires are so sad .. we live on a lake and it is awesome seeing the planes come in and scoop water. And I am sure they are "boy planes" 😊
Your videos are so great. I’m envious. You should do a masterclass. Lots of Planes Fire and Rescue vibes with this one, too.

How cool. I love it when you come to SLO my home county. I actually live in Nipomo ( Jockos) have fun and enjoy your time here in SLO county.

I did admit to be an idiot in this episode... so this lesson on how the bottle works is well deserved.
I can’t believe you went to Tehachapi and missed the world famous “Tehachapi loop”, you’ll have to go back. One of the 7 wonders of the railroad world.
What!?! I didn't even know about this. I would have taken my drone over there in a heartbeat. Thanks for the heads-up.

Love the Ca Central Coast!
Get a funnel for the fuel additive.
Agree! That park is a regular stopover on that route - enjoy watching the holders and breakfast at the cafe.
Love your travels on the west coast. Are there any on the beach rv parks that you have stayed at?
Man you guys were not to far from where I live. How exciting…. Fountain Valley, CA 😃
Very nice episode!!!
Oh NO! The camper in the ditch 😲 It's like a non stick pan? So, it has some coating on it? Jim & Michelle
I just recently found your channel. I am curious as to what you are using to capture all of your videos, especially on the road. Do you have a video that discusses what you use or could you list what you do use.
Hey, I wanted to see the corn salad and meat-smorgasbord 😂😂
That was fun 👍
don't go back to the hotshots. Have fun out there
Truly great. I couldn’t tell if you are still using the Air Safe and equilzer hitch?
Neither. Just the ball. For our setup and tongue weight, it's the most stable.
Thank you. Fun video. Blessings
Ah, good to know. Didn't even look yet.
What happened to the levelmate pro? Man I love that thing!
Blackstone makes a propane air fryer that works really well
keep the clips coming
