    Within 100 million years, earth will most likely have had another mass extinction event anyway, so humans won't likely be here. Life WILL go on, but it will probably much different, just like how different it was 65 million years ago when dinos roamed the earth. Life always finds a way, just because we aren't part of it doesn't mean it's a bad thing though :)

    Here's an alternative to what exactly would happen in the future:
    1. We discover methods of energy production/ways to open up wormholes that connect our planet and another Earth like planet.
    2. We bend the space time fabric and pull the other point in space next to us and zap through and land on the other planet.
    3. For centuries we stay there and ruin that planet as well before finding another planet to infect.

    Given what we've achieved over the last thousand years (hell, even the last hundred years), I reckon it's fairly safe to assume people in a few million years' time will have the tech to solve this easily. Or by then we've wiped ourselves out anyway. Either way, not something we should worry about now =)

    • @FlourEater
      @FlourEater 10 лет назад +3

      I totally agree...like when someone was born in 1900, he as a child rode around in a wagon pulled by horse... not even 70 years later he watched how we conquered the moon. That´s really incredible achievement and science is going faster and faster. I really see it in medicine as I am involved in that as my profession and own experience as patient where we were 10 years ago and what we can do now.

      As it is true IF the human race is still around 1 mil years from now we would be more advanced, we would not be on earth, it id not plausible to believe we would not have blown ourselves up or used our available resources, i personally believe the human race is irresponsible yet advanced and as we continue to gain information its only a matter of time until a hitler 2.0 comes out and wipes out life on earth, hell we can already do that, north Korea (as scary as this is) could end life on earth in a time of maybe 2 weeks. This is a what if of corse, world powers would step in fast, i believe if that honestly happened the USA Russia and China would fight as allys for the first time ever, but hey maybe im wrong, maybe humans will learn freedom and peace, and we may find out a way to that with out a trigger or a big red button.

    • @squiddyfish9159
      @squiddyfish9159 10 лет назад

      Chris Duncan While there's always the possibility of a Hitler 2.0 coming out and wiping the planet out, this probably isn't likely as wiping out the planet would also destroy everything they would have fought for... I'm not sure if anyone would be stupid enough to press this big red button, let alone someone with enough power to access it in the first place. What I would say is that in a million years this planet would be too screwed up to be habitable any more... We'd have to find a new planet by then =P

    • @wolf7115
      @wolf7115 10 лет назад +1

      +Cyber12 GMD It will orbit Jupiter not go on it. (Essay alert).
      Since Jupiter is much larger than Earth, it's gravity is stronger than earth. So then landing would be much harder, there would be more gravity resulting in higher landing speeds. And also it is very stormy on Jupiter, with strong wind. And also, if it was on the planet of Jupiter then it probably could barley move because it is being nearly crushed by Jupiter's gravity. I hope I didn't say anything wrong or I will feel stupid. Thanks for actually reading this.

    If we want to keep Earth afloat, the easiest method would be to build giant boosters all around the equator. If each booster was to fire off for a period of 5 minutes at 6 pm within its' timezone , the perpendicular thrust would gradually increase earth's overall velocity, which would in turn increase Earth's orbit.
    The thrust of each booster engine would not be enough to move Earth by much, but if we were to scatter, say, 6000 boosters (1 every 4-5 km or so), and each would fire off every 5 minutes with a strong enough force, we could in theory accelerate earth AND maintain its' rotation.

    • @newera478
      @newera478 10 лет назад +10

      And theory it shall stay. Practically it is impossible due to Earth's mass versus fuel you have access to. But then again who knows about the future in couple million years from now they might have some super fuel/engines. Then again we wouldn't know because we are going to die in about 100 years. I'd say better to start thinking new planets to inhabit.

      No, in 3000 nothing happens, in 1,100,000,000 all the water in Earth will evaporate and life will cease to exist. Or a major asteroid will hit us in a few hundred thousand years. We should live into another star system. Our only choice and closest exoplanet is Proxima Centauri B.

      Well, if we are still floating around our own solar system by the time the sun dies... then we have failed as the human race..
      If we ARE stuck in our solar system... then we need liquid water.. Europa and Enceladus have this... ..Titan is the only moon with a dense atmosphere.., so it has some potential for something..?.. terraforming? These moons will be 'safe' from the blast zone of the sun, but when it goes, everything in our solar system will be bathed in all kinds of electromagnetic radiation so... it would probably be wise to be out of our system by then..

      Even though our race will certainly die at some point, we may still live long enough to come into contact with the problem of the sun's aging, as well as much more advanced space travel. Also, the only other extinct races to compare Humanity's eventual extinction to aren't sentient. We're different, and we have no way of knowing what that will mean for our fate.

      2 intergalactical transportation is highly unlikely for a long time untill we find a way to travel the speed of light.or some "time travel" or portal creating technology
      3 the sun dieing means alot of things dieng not just our solar system (kinda sorta)

    • @Lithae
      @Lithae 10 лет назад +3

      Delvin Sauw
      I don't think intergalactic travel is unlikely, we're just not putting any resources at all into it basically. NASA's entire budgets from it's conception can fit into ONE YEAR of the Defense budget. People just do not care or think it's important, they would rather watch reality tv than learn about science or how to save the human race from our inevitable destruction, from asteroids, or the sun, or overpopulation, or any of the dozens of situations that will and may happen.
      We have new and theoretical tech that could get us at least to a near FTL speed, not too shabby generational ships could probably be made now with today's advanced technology if we actually put resources into it. We've found a lot of planets in the goldilocks zone, even in our closest neighboring systems. I would say once we can determine where to go, and if we had the adequate resources funding it, we could have colonizing missions within the next couple generations. But people have to care first.

    Here's what's exactly gonna happen in the distant future:
    1. We find another Earth like planet.
    2. Teleportation is made feasible. (Note its already achieved at a molecular level)
    3. We all go.
    4. For centuries we stay there and ruin that planet as well before finding another planet to infect.

    • @karnowo
      @karnowo 10 лет назад

      Karno There was a time when people didn't wanna fly because it involved your so called risk of going insanely high then coming back down, not to mention in a pressurized container. But its common now despite the fact if you fall from that height you die for sure.
      With time, teleportation will become publicly feasible...despite the fact if you don't materialize at the other end, you die.
      :D

    • @karnowo
      @karnowo 10 лет назад +5

      That's not what I was saying.
      It's not about materializing on the other end. It's the fact you are "dematerialized" aka killed.
      Even if it wasn't painful. Even though I don't believe in such nonsense as a "soul" etc.

      Well, we are currently in the most important transition of the human race. That is, going from a level 0 civilization to a level 1 civilization. If we successfully make the transition, we will most likely be fine from there on out. The transition will force us to come together and end most of the bullshit. Hopefully we make it..

    I don't know why but I've never thought about how much time humans have left on earth. I just have this feeling that humans don't have that much longer when you look at numbers like a million years. Not to say that it will end in our lifetimes, I just feel like humans won't be around for another 5000 years.

    well hopefully in a billion years we A: become immortal beings by inhabiting other planets in the glaxy so that the human race isn't destroyed or B: create something to physically move our planet to a safe location. I think its doable since humans managed to get into outerspace only 60 years after creating manned flight, a billion should be plenty.

    • @kodajolly2655
      @kodajolly2655 10 лет назад +1

      or we just become biologically immortal within the next few centuries :P (which is theoretically possible due to certain technological advances) and eventually just make a giant lasery satelite doohicky that would propel us away from the sun.
      plus it would just be soooper fun to be able to say i am immortal...but only if we can find a planet of INFERIOR LIFEFORMS to yell at and call pathetic mortals.

    • @pedroh273
      @pedroh273 10 лет назад

      that is actually a scary thought, being immortal in the endless space, though i am not sure what impact we will make to these aliens, maybe they will think were gods? LOL

He is ahead though, cause there is more good on this planet than evil.....So far. Plus he had to put in things like War, disease, famine, Testosterone, cause 99.8% of the evil on this planet is caused by Males.
      Even God fucks up and is on the Shitter...Just look at 9/11....they say God never gives you more than you can Handle ??,,,But tell that to the souls that choose to Jump or burn alive.....That's a bit much to handle for one day.
