I would like a vote here people to show Catfish Dave that we would like him to bring back his music in his videos. Like time’s past. Well, it’s Ben 10 days since we took this pole and I think out of a couple of polls takers and leaving their comments about too much music on RUclips and all that but what I mean is if you go back to his older videos and when he’s cracking in a fish. He throws some music in there a little banjo or a guitar I just cool what is real in the fish and playing that music in the background I’m not talking about playing music the whole damn video. Hell no what is cranking on the fish that is so cool when he puts his music in it
I was taught droughts bring worms in the fish I have seen it in the sides of fish. One time in Louisiana the Sabine river ever fish we caught do to drought.
Dave, you’re the best. I know guys that would give their right arm for a ( trophy) like that. What a great fisherman you are. Total respect for that fish. That’s awesome.
Man that was the biggest striper I have ever seen. You sir are a master fisherman by not only catching something like that but taking the time and care to make sure it survived the encounter. The sport could surely use more people like you.
I sure appreciate Dave's respect for that big striper. So many of the guys on the fishin' videos will do everything but write a letter to mama while they pose with some big bass instead of giving the fish a chance to survive
Striper aren’t as hearty as Largemouth or catfish. They spawn in my river twice a year, but California drought made that problematic recently. They are one of the better eating freshwater fish.
Absolutely respectful of the resource! Sets a great example for our young folks. No cussin, no bitchin, no drugs or alcohol. Pure fishin! Dave is a good man.
Yep… there is a local,(Phoenix), RUclipsr, that keeps fish out of the water interminably, while repeating the weight over and over again, every 10 seconds… “ yep, 6 lbs, 12 ounces, …yep, 6 lbs, 12 ounces, … yep, 6 lbs, 12 ounces, yep, 6 lbs, 12 ounces”. All the while, the fish is suffering… I stopped watching, and unsubscribed.
Love your honesty and being humble. I live on a river and fish all the time and am in the same boat with you my friend. It takes time and talent to knock down big cats like this. Don’t come easy.
“Not even a big fish” .. That first one is bigger than my current PB.. Dave thanks for the videos man, I came across your channel a few weeks ago and I’m “hooked” .. You have patience, Great tips and advice , and no big ego and fancy sponsors .. just a regular guy who loves to fish and is damn good at it!! .. If you ever hit the Ohio river I have some family owned property with a couple of private docks by Marietta! 🍻
I make my living fishing and iam very impressed with Dave and some of the other Catfish content folk in their conservation efforts. I think people tend to pass judgement on Catfish guys when in reality iam seeing better fish care and catch n release practices from this group over any of the others. Heck of a day my man and great job caring for those prized specimens. Let em go let em grow
Bass tournament fisherman are the worse. They'll murder you if you dare keep a bass to eat, but anyone that has walked the banks after a big tournament has no doubt seen the dozens of dead bass "released" after weigh in, after being in a live well all day, all so some prick can win some paper currency. Absolutely shameful. Im sure its the asian carp ruining the bass populations, nothing to do with pulling hundreds if not thousands of spawning fish every spring off their beds.
@whiteyfisk9769 You know there was a time I would have agreed with you but you obviously are not keeping up on it. You are still correct at club level etc but the bigger tours have gone to a weighmaster in the boat so fish gets weighed and released immediately which is awesome and I would say needs to be done with all fishing tourneys period. Now as far as just being general dickheads the BASS guys are king. Bunch of primadonnas riding around in 100k rigs and claiming to own the water damn near when tourney fishing. Catfish guys nope!!! Love the success and the fact a kid fishing from the bank has a legit chance of winning a derby
I look at these pristine videos in gorgeous environments and say to my self why are we spending so much time trying to populate a barren red rocky planet with no oxygen or chance of farming. This beautiful planet is as good as it gets for us. We need to save this world rather than go elsewhere with less than ideal living conditions.
Nice to watch I remember watching al Linder in the early 1980s on regular TV and darn look at me know watching you tube 😅 I still don't have anything but antenna TV but this is cool😊
The polls are still open people as of now 67 yes to 125 comments and the yes have it. So Dave can you bring some of your music back, your very good at it. Your videos are great Thank you
Haha I remember back in the 70s as a little boy, me and my dad caught over 20 catfish one day. While dad pulled up anchor, I let them all go. He was not happy. But I slept good ! Catch and release. Awesome.
Dav I’m gonna watch her you put on an awful awful nice soul but I do miss your music would you please bring it back please thank you kindly and God bless
Great video Sir and some nice fish I live in Michigan and we got some big fish up here so I know how you feel about catching big fish God bless and stay safe brother
6:11 Ya need to set up a hummingbird feeder, Dave! That lil guy looked hungrier than the Blues ! Shoot those Stripers back in the water like a dart, head first. That gets them down into the cooler temps faster. It seems to work ! J/S
I would love for my 2 kids to catch a catfish like that. They love to fish. I've caught enough for my lifetime, it's fun to see them get so excited... Like Christmas morning...
That was a Great video Dave, sure enjoyed it. The time spent reviving that Stripper was Fantastic, a lot of guys wouldn't have done that and the fish would have just died. Hats Off to you, Wow what some Fish.
Ive never had any luck out of the head piece, only gar. The best skipjack piece IMO is the piece next to the head and the skipjack liver is a phenomenal bait!!
Hello Catfish Dave I use spinning rods when catfishing the Chemung river in Elmira NY because of the snags shopping carts and cars and trucks at the bottom of the river bait tasting rods won't work in the Chemung river in Elmira NY spinning rods are the ones that works the best
Beautiful Striper there Guy! Out of all my fishing days, my best moments was landing those big bass. No other feeling like it. Love your channel. Thanks for sharing!
Dude, I've been finding you for a while. You make pretty good videos. I learn a lot from them but can you please do a video? How to set up the rig and hooks?
I have been fishing for more than 50 years and I had always believed the larger the better was the goal. But I have softened on that belief over time. The big fish are the old fish and usually the breeders that keep the stock going. When we hook them and bring them to the surface with the usual amount of handling and hook removal we are sending them back with significant damage and often a slow death. I no longer put large hooks and bait in the water hoping to catch that elusive big one. In fact I no longer catch unless the bait is small and the hook is barbless. Only catch and release. I will catch the odd large one even with small hook and bait but I try to keep the damage and handling as quick as possible.
From watching your show I have learned so much. I used to trot line fish 30-40 years ago. I used suspend my lines 6-8 feet below the surface, only put them out at night and used ivory soap, hot dogs, fiddle worms, muscles, etc and had skipjacks everywhere but didn’t use them. Your method contradicts everything I did and now I realize I worked myself to death and didn’t catch a lot but could have if I did what you do on your show. It’s great you take such care in releasing those stripers. Live to fight another day👍
I like watching your channel partially because you don't talk a million miles a minute You know how to catch em ! Good luck I hope to see more of your videos . Do you eat catfish ?
I've fished the Mississippi river here in Mo. Quite a bit and fished with herring for the big blues. They are a lot of fun but a lot of work as well. I've lost a couple over a hundred pounds unfortunately. I have landed a few though up in the 80lb class. That's a good looking river. Thanks take care and stay safe out there.
I wanna comment on how much I like ya boat. Looks very stable with plenty of walkaround room. Those 4 stroke Yamahas are hard to beat. I ran em offshore 20 - 35 miles and they never missed a beat. See you like circle hooks or from lack of hook set appears so. Awesome fishing day.
Oh Yeaahhh! That was fun just watching! Handling cut bait and eating with the same hands. A true fisherman. I've caught a few blues, but now I am back in Missouri and could use some coaching on how a Flathead acts as opposed to a Blue. I am surprised you caught one, though, I've always thought Flatheads were nocturnal. One thing I do know: Dave is the CLEANEST catfisherman I've ever seen. Most of us get dirty pretty quickly. BTW, we would have liked to have seen the "rough" fish you caught. What kind of carp do you have there? Big gold reverted Koi? Quillback? Any Gar? Big Buffalo are not only large muscle work, they look really cool. Big Drum? Folks get off on their croaking. White Perch? Do you have those? The greatest thing about tightlining a nightcrawler in Missouri? A LOT more species in one day.

Yeeeeeeeesssssss. I miss the story telling he used to do also, back in his bank fishing days.
Leave the man be with the dag blasted music. His videos have been fine recently.
@@bidenhasdementia8657 never said his videos haven’t been “fine”. Just saying what we miss about his older videos.
Also I love your name😂
Got my vote
I always like to see Dave put effort into the recovery/well being of the fish. Great video as always!
normally throws them in torpedo style lots of effort on this one
I can hear better when theres no music
I was taught droughts bring worms in the fish I have seen it in the sides of fish. One time in Louisiana the Sabine river ever fish we caught do to drought.
Omg he’s awesome!!!
The happiness of a man fishing alone on a lake, river or stream is probably the happiest a man can be without a woman 😊
Thank you Dave for making these videos for us and for taking us on your journey for that big fish. Thank you for your time on the water
I sure appreciate Dave's respect for that big striper. So many of the guys on the fishin' videos will do everything but write a letter to mama while they pose with some big bass instead of giving the fish a chance to survive

I wish he would've weigh him,
Well said
He's thrown back more poundage of fish in one day than I've caught in the past 5 years.
You must be from Southern california where we enjoy dink stocker trout and catfish 1 pounders lol.
Love your honesty and being humble. I live on a river and fish all the time and am in the same boat with you my friend. It takes time and talent to knock down big cats like this. Don’t come easy.

Loved the banjo when you hook up with a fish and greatly appreciate you taking care of that huge striper. Am a fan of your channel, Catfish Dave.

Love how you respect the fish enough to take time helping them recover before releasing. Damn that was some big fish. Liked and subscribed.
Can’t commend you enough for the treatment of that big stripper. Most beautiful fish. Happy to see it’s still alive 👍👍😃
The polls are still open people as of now 67 yes to 125 comments and the yes have it. So Dave can you bring some of your music back, your very good at it. Your videos are great Thank you

That striper was a nice fish.🎣👍
Love the way you handled that striper. A true fisherman you are.
Beautiful, thanks for letting them go. The big ones aren't good to eat anyway.
No misquotes. No bumping into fellow fishermen. Looks like a good reason to take off from work. Crows always got something to say
Thanks for postin' Dave!
Nice Striped bass, I wish they grew that big in my home lake 'cause they pull like all get out!
Bring back the music. Love your videos. 80 degrees in Central Indiana last two days.
Get two more over 40 last night. Bite is turning up! Nice video!
Great video Sir and some nice fish I live in Michigan and we got some big fish up here so I know how you feel about catching big fish God bless and stay safe brother
That striper was amazing!!!Thanks for taking such care! What a beauty- i'd watch that video again!
Thanks Dave. Appreciate your video’s.
I've been watching your videos since your bank fishing vids. I do believe that's the biggest striper I've ever seen you catch!!
They’re running my river right now. The boat ramps are packed.
I appreciate the time and patience Catfish Dave has with these large fish. Handle them as gently as possible before release so as to minimize damage.
Dave what river is better Tennessee river or Cumberland river ?
Me and my dad use to catch big strip on crawfish .We had so much fun.
Thanks for the care & putting that bass back in & same with the cat fish!

A bad day fishing is better than the best day at work.
Best thing is Dave’s background bluegrass music

Really enjoy watching this guy and he’s is hysterical to listen to…
I love seeing these big cats, but that must be the most laid back fishing ever. Just drop the junk and wait. LOL.
Those are nice looking fish it's good to see the back ground turning green again
That was a Great video Dave, sure enjoyed it. The time spent reviving that Stripper was Fantastic, a lot of guys wouldn't have done that and the fish would have just died. Hats Off to you, Wow what some Fish.
Pretty pretty BIG CAT DAVE.👍
Cool fishing video. I really love non windy days in general and on your videos. Thanks for posting.

Retired up by Chicago. Looking forward to leaving for N. Alabama. Tennessee River bound. Thanks for the fishin' lesson.
WTH DAVE !!! A STRIPER ???? A BEAUTIFUL FISH.
I really like the hat, Dave.
Hello Catfish Dave I use spinning rods when catfishing the Chemung river in Elmira NY because of the snags shopping carts and cars and trucks at the bottom of the river bait tasting rods won't work in the Chemung river in Elmira NY spinning rods are the ones that works the best
I don't get it... how does the reel or rod make a difference in the hook/bait/lure getting snagged on bottom trash ?
Love your videos, you’ve actually thought me a lot since I’ve been watching your channel.
Beautiful Striper there Guy! Out of all my fishing days, my best moments was landing those big bass. No other feeling like it. Love your channel. Thanks for sharing!
That was one big stripper! It seemed that fish faught extra hard today. Once agian enjoyed the video, thanks for taking us!
Great show Dave
Dude, I've been finding you for a while. You make pretty good videos. I learn a lot from them but can you please do a video? How to set up the rig and hooks?

Way to go Dave!!!
Thanks for sharing Dave. I haven’t wet a hook in I don’t remember when. One of my passions!
I appreciate your efforts in helping that striper
Monster striper.
Good stuff.
*You never see any of these youtubers fishing the Cumberland though* especially the back end. 😂 Cause it's too challenging and hard 😂

Bo catch videos are always awesome to me, well done brother!!
Nice catch of cats (and a striper) but you need some fiddle/banjo tunes to make the video more entertaining!
Unbelievable catch!catfish Dave what giant striper 👍

That might be the biggest if the one of the biggest I've seen you catch Dave . 🤘👽
Also good save on that fish .
Big fish no matter what it is, are great to catch. Dave very seldom weighs them.
I would like to see a fund raiser for Dave to get a wireless Mic so we can always here him.i would help
