Cycling Nepal: The Homeless Doggo 🇳🇵

  • ■ KATHMANDU, NEPAL: Over 3 years ago, upon my first visit to Nepal, I ran into Sunil, who grew up in Nepal but is now living in America. He'd returned to help fund cancer treatment for kids whose families could not afford it. Fast forward to today, and his foundation has now helped over 122 Nepalis get treatment. Many have survived!
One of the first people he helped was a guy called Pradip. He now lives on a mountain which is about a days journey from Kathmandu. Rather than take a bus or motorbike I thought it would be more interesting to buy a bicycle and journey up there on my own to visit him and his family to congratulate him on surviving cancer.
But since I obviously don't fly around the world with a bicycle in my backpack, I first had to buy and actual bike. The first bike I looked at was one used by a hotel to cycle laundry back and forth. It was a classic timeless cycle but would've been very hard to navigate through the Kathmandu traffic on.
My search for a bicycle continued.... Down the road I saw a man deliver water bottles to shops. The bike was perfect but the owner seemed quite emotionally attached to his ride. There was only one solution: The Federales Reservos had to be rapidly deployed.
With a bicycle finally secured, and my Federal Reserves somewhat depleted, I started cycling at 7AM the next morning on the dusty streets of Kathmandu, through the historic town of Bhaktapur and ultimately up the foothills of the Himalayas.
What I thought would be a leisurely, yet exhausting bike ride, turned out to be anything but just that. Instead this bicycle adventure from Nepal's capital Kathmandu turned out to be one of the greatest adventures I've had in recent years.....

My goodness Harald, I have never ever seen anyone in my entire life who has come from another part of the world to trek on foot for hours on end to meet and to give love and hope to a cancer survivor whom you don't even know much. And the sacrifices that you had to encounter all along the way must have been enormous and much more than what could be captured on cam. Our deepest respects 🙏🙏🙏 goes out to you and your family too and you have our prayers and blessings all throughout your life, Harald 💝. Your sacrifices and abounding love and humility will never be forgotten. Surely, I too will support this foundation that is run by Sunil and kudos and much love and respect goes out to him too ❤ You are just plain awesome, Harald and you are in fact an angel who flies all around the world showing your love and showing us the world through your camera and your awesome heart. Again, much love to you, Harald and I really wish I could meet you someday soon somewhere.. 🌺💐🌻

I can't believe that you came to my hometown. I'm too shocked and blessed right now. One of my friend has been captured in the background.😂
The town might be a little boring but the areas and hills surrounding the place has a lot of beautiful sceneries to offer to an explorer and I, myself have a lot left to explore of those areas.
Thank you again, Mr. Northman ! ❤

Above all, only send money you can miss. If you have little money, don't send any.
On PC: Underneath the video, you'll see three dots (...). Click that and you will see ''$ in a heart'' and ''thanks''. Or your local money sign and local ''thanks''.
On a phone, i don't know either. Look for the three dots somewhere i guess.

When you were resting on the rock, you moved your left arm a fraction and Downhill Dogo snuggled into that space. May God continue to keep you safe. The ridges in the mountain remind me of Machu Piccu.
