- Another movie with some solid creature effects, Tremors was honestly far more funny than I'd have ever guessed; nothing better than big worms and Kevin Bacon.

Other kids played the floor is lava. We played tremors.
SAME I watched this movie like 8 years ago and I was 6 and I actually played floor is tremors
@@johnballentine6638I don't think you were the only one. We did too. 😂😂😂
I play both ❤
this movie has incredible practical effects, great comedy, likable characters, and a perfect pacing. I love tremors.
I agree, I wasn't expecting the solid humor and character; definitely made me enjoy the movie even more with the amazing creature design.
Best B-movie ever.
plus characters making good logical decisions
used to watch this movie with my mom when i was a kid
Absolutely
"Shit, for all you know, they can fly!" Tremors 3: "Write that down WRITE THAT DOWN!"
Its so strange to actually tell people that not only is Tremors a great monster movie, but its also a GREAT MOVIE. The set-up and payoff, the pacing, the humor, the characters, the effects (aside from that one green screen shot in the basement), all of it is amazing.
Every man should aspire to have the friendship that Kevin bacon and Fred Ward have.
I could not agree more, we all need one like that.
Got it
Everyone needs a good bromance.
I love the character actor Victor Wong. He was also in 3 ninjas and big trouble in little china. He was great. He passed tragically the day after 9/11 due to the stress of that day.
Tremors 2-4 are also really good
25:56 - The graboid wasn't lifting the building. It was destroying the buildings' foundation. This resulted in the building starting to collapse into itself.
I remember when this came out and my friend wanted to see it. I wasn't impressed, since I thought it was just a schlock kind of picture, until we saw it and I realized it is a _parody,_ of these kinds of movies, and done far better than the films it was parodying. Solid movie.
That machine that draws the creatures towards Burt is a brass polisher, so you can reload ammo!
I was just about to say this lol, yep brass polisher, using fine grit sand that then shakes the shit out of it and the spent brass casings so it can be reloaded, a prepper and gun enthusiasts must have.
"What do you think they fly? Shooting out of the freaking sand."
Oh boy.
Man, I love Reba MacIntyre so much! She is such a queen! And she did a fantastic job in this movie!
Dude, I saw this film growing up in the Navajo Nation and it's pretty impressive. It's one of the greatest Sci-fi Action Comedy Horror films ever made. The idea from the movie came from writers Brent Maddock and S.S. Wilson whom were in the navy and were taking notes on a large boulder in Nevada. One of them asked, "What If there was something under the ground that was never gonna let us off this rock?" And that is what gave the idea of TREMORS.
How about a (short) series with its own follow-up movie:
The series: Firefly
The movie: Serenity (2005)
Created by Joss Whedon, who would later write and direct the first Avengers movie. The movie was made after the series was cancelled. The movie got made because soooooooo many fans (Browncoats) kept it alive even after being canceled. A treat, all the way through.
Firefly is solid recommendation; I've heard about it but never got to it. I'll definitely keep it in mind!
Greatest sci fi since the original Star Wars trilogy. Not one bad episode.
This movie gave me more nightmares as a kid than any other, full stop. The idea of huge worm monsters under the ground where you can’t see them, hearing your footsteps, able to bust through floors that didn’t have concrete, and pulling you down into the dirt absolutely terrified young me. I would have a nightmare about once every three months for at least ten years straight about being stuck on top of my house or my school or the playground slide, unable to go anywhere because a damn graboid was coming for me. It’s silly to now, but probably best not to show this movie to a super-imaginative six year old like I was. And I lived in the American Southwest, where it’s nothing but desert! This movie can make a kid fear the desert the way Jaws can make you fear the ocean.
I can understand why, a monster which you can't see and will attack at the slightest movement you make; it's terrifying as hell!
Was the last movie I saw as a kid in Kingman AZ before we moved to Indiana. I was very relieved to go 😂😂😂
I love how the married couple have a armory of guns ! And the wife is singer Reba MacIntyre. I would of brought food and more guns on the move.
Tremors 1 "can you fly, can you fly as$#ole!"
Tremors 2 "hold my beer."
No that is Tremors 3
Tremors 2 they could climb, they hadn't morphed into Ass-Blasters yet in the 2nd movie.
I said "not yet". Lol
You wrote that in a way youtube thought you were trying to put a hashtag.
I saw this when I was about 10 years old in 1992... and totally wanted to be Val when I grew up...
Now I'm grown up, I'm Earl :D
Earl is cool as hell man; I think you did great!
On another channel you said you were 10 in 1990. Now you're saying you were 10 in 1992. Which is it?
@@jackknauff7973 might have been a spelling mistake, I was definitely 24 in 1997.
@@TheRodentSama If you were 10 in 1990 and 1992 you couldn't be 24 in 1997.
@@jackknauff7973 I'm a time traveller.
I love this MOVIE! Kevin Bacon, Fred Ward, Michael Gross and Reba are AWESOME!
I saw this when i was a kid on summer break and it was the first movie that legitimately scared me. I was terrified of the floor and only walked on cushions i threw on the floor for the rest of the day. This movie and kevin bacon hold a special place in my heart.
Can’t even count the amount of times I’ve watched Tremors! Everything about it is great!
"God, I hate Melvin."
Me: Everybody hates Melvin. Don't worry though he gets what's coming to him in the third movie.
Does he get takin' out by an ass-blaster?
@@ShamblesMD Unfortunately not.
@@ShamblesMD I'll just say "GET ON THE ROCKS!!"
he's still alive in the television series
Melvin: "I HATE YOUR HAT!!!"
Honestly, the only part of this movie that legitimately gave me chills, when I saw it way back when, was when the Dr. was being eaten. Only because it's still at the point of the film where you don't know what is under the ground, something is slowly dragging him under, and the whole time, he is screaming bloody murder as his wife is desperately trying to save him, and it gets me every time.
Chang's death was similar, only less of an effect because you see the monster.
But for the most part, this film is not really meant to be taken seriously and that's what makes it so memorable and fun to watch, especially the chemistry between Val, and Earl and you can't forget about Burt either. The creature effects are also top notch.
This is my favorite go to movie every time I feel down and need a laugh. All characters are actually smart and not following the typical tropes of making stupid decisions etc. The friendship between them feels so genuine and the banter is so delightful. I was 10 years old when I first saw this movie back in 1990. I remember coming home from vacation on Canary Island and my brother and I was browsing our cable tv channels this was just starting with the title screen and we were hooked :)
Tremors 2 Aftershocks is also pure hilarious gold
Without a doubt one of my favorite movies. I don't know how many times I've seen it. An unpretentious film that does the trick. Good characters, cool story, good directing and great special effects.
“Primitive people against progress” is my new favorite quote.
It's also cool that almost the entire movie takes place during the day. Not a lot of spoopy flicks do that
Burt's in all the sequels, that's why I say you should continue watching them. If they keep the same actor / character I'm always down
21:11 Makes me teary-eyed everytime. So proud to be an American.
I love how the film keeps it's sense of humor throughout - really sets it apart.
For movies, I would suggest Ginger Snaps, and The Crow. Both have kind of a cult following but both are really kind of edgy, dark and awesome.
The Crow. Yes!
People often forget that Burt is the dad from Family Ties XD
I have an uncle Burt who is also a gun freak like Burt in this.
This movie is a great modern version of a 50's monster movie. Tremors 2:Aftershocks is also definitely worth the watch. And the actress that played Mindy is also Lex in Jurassic Park.
Poor Ariana Richards... terrorized by Graboids, T-Rexes, and Raptors, lol
@@RraMakutsi 😂😂😂😂 it was just two guys in a dinosaur raptors suit
Kevin saves almost everybody's bacon one at a time or another! ( +1 for Reba )
another great creature film (like the thing) that got critically panned. shows you what the critics know.
The critics don't know anything, so many movies they rate so low are insanely enjoyable. I'm not watching these movies to critique them, I'm here to have a good time; I think that's something the critiques totally forget about.
I remember hearing that Kevin Bacon was having regrets about taking the role during the making of this.
What a shame, I thought he killed it in this role and overall it was an enjoyable movie
He came around and reprise his role in the latest installment (series). Although it din have a go, you can still find the trailer (2018)
4:09 - The actress was so cute that it hurts me a lot to see how she ended up.
15:25 - Fun fact: although the whole atmosphere is like a deserted, warm place, they actually shot the movie in the winter in icy cold conditions and all the actors were freezing the whole time since they had to be dressed like it was summer/spring.
I had no idea what you were talking about and then I looked up Finn Carter. Jesus Christ! Don't do drugs people. Such a shame.
I love that movie! :D
The whole copyright thing is getting ridiculous.
I swear it just harms copyright holders.
Because when no one gets to see or hear their content, no one knows it exists. Therefore, no one goes to buy it and it falls into obscurity.
In the mean time, everyone knows the non copyrighted songs by heart.
Right? The copyright laws are so extreme and really weird; like all the coen brothers films I have zero issues. But then there are others where it is a nightmare, it's just so annoying to deal with.
Nestor's death always reminds me of blues clues or some other kids show, "no Nestor, that's no good"
i feel sorry for Nestor
You better react to all the sequels, or at least the first 3 please
I love the Tremors movies. I hope you check out the rest. Looking forward to it.
Yeah please check out the other 6 Movies and Tv show
Yea this was one of those good ol’ movies that me and my mom would pop popcorn and watch together LoL
This makes me feel old..tremors 2 is where my memory picks up with this franchise. They've done a lot of recent ones but they just come off cheesy to me. This is a classic lol
Reba was a BAMF from Day 1! Great reaction!
As soon as the camera panned over to the gun wall, I knew Bert was gonna have some sequels lol
I’d like to see you two react to part Tremors 2 & 3. Really enjoying your reactions!
One of my fave movies!... Watching your reactions was great. So great to see ppl enjoying this so much for the first time ☺️
Best 90"s horror movie,i recommend seeing the sequels, there is no remake, only sequels and Keavin Bacon does not appear on the rest of The franchise,Michael Gross( playing the character Burt Gummer) Hold all the movies and the 2003 TV Series( 13 episodes after the third movie).
Agreed, also has 1 of the best sequels made with the second 1. The Shriekers are my most feared movie monster, kinda watched it when I was too young lol.
sad the tv show had no budget
@@jappperon7012 yeah
EXCEPT FOR #4!!!!
WE DO NOT SPEAK OF #4!!!
Sitting here needing to film some reactions but instead I am watching you two react to one of my favorite movies. Keep it up.
This is such a fun 80s film. The sequels are something else as well. Also watching your facial expressions is the best thing ever. Having your brother there is just extra fun.
Thank you for doing this one. My boyfriend watches this movie frequently. He regards it as a perfect monster movie and a perfect 'disaster' movie.
Me too❤
"broke into the wrong god damn wreck room didn't you you bastard"!!!!...🤣🤣🤣🤣
I really want to see your reactions for the sequels to this. Even without Kevin Bacon, its pretty good.
This movie owns exactly what it is and makes no apologies. It’s just fun.
One of my favorite movies, so underrated!
I love this movie. It's just a great popcorn flick. I highly recommend Brotherhood of the Wolf if you're looking for some amazing fight scenes and the best written plot I've ever seen.
and when bert breaks out the gun in the case. thats a elephant gun
His Name Is Burt not Bert 😂😂
The part where Kevin Bacon was missing the nail on the post was 100% real he was actually trying
A friend of mine called this “the smartest dumb film ever”! 🤣🤣🤣
This is the best of Tremors. No computer graphics. I like them all but this is my favorite. Its got humor too. Great actors. Love it.
That's my biggest concern of watching the others, I love the practical effects of the first movie and as the years go by I'm confident CGI replaces a lot of it. Though, I'll probably still give them a shot at some point.
3:15 - This is foreshadowing on how the last graboid gets killed by falling like he does in his sleeping bag.
I watched the shit out of this movie in college and on road trips in my van. Late 90’s early 2000’ with no cable, DVD player and a collection of 90’s dvds. At first I only had 10.
❤
What I love most about Tremors is the practical creature design. If they were to remake it today you know the graboids would be CGI.
Grinch: "I'M AN IDIOT!"
Grinch's echo: "YOU'RE AN IDIOT!"
You should watch the other Fred Ward movie, Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins. An underrated comedic spy movie.
You have to at least watch the next 3 films in the series, they are the BEST!
I actually think 4 is kind of cool too
Love the reaction guys really good, there is another 6 films
Graboids are cool, but Ass Blasters are where it's at, lol... also, Burt Gummer is one of the greatest heroes of all time!
@@RraMakutsi I prefer shriekers
The simultaneous "I don't know" at 25:47 made me laugh. true twins!
There's a reason why this set of films has a large cult following. It's fabulous!
Thank you guys for watching such classics! It's really great!🥰😘😎👍👍👍
You included one of my favorite movie lines ever: "Here's some swiss cheese and some bullets."
I have the perfect movie recommendation for you guys. There is a movie that came out in 1994 that is simply titled *'Mosquito'* which, among hard-core movie enthusiasts and collectors, is considered to be one of, if not, the funniest bad horror movies ever to be made. It's about a ufo crashing into a swamp, and the aftermath being giant mosquitoes attacking people. Everything from the plot, directing, acting and dialogue are hilariously, and unintentionally, bad to the point of it being very, very funny.
You guys could, honestly, have a lot of fun with this one.
I'm a sucker for hilariously bad films, I'll definitely add this to the list; it'll be insanely fun to watch with my brother!
Is it like Sharknado?
@@lindaisyoutubing No. Sharknado was made specifically to be ridiculous. Mosquito (1994) was just so terrible it was hilarious. The actors seemed like they weren't real actors. Just random people picked up off the street. The practical special effects were also hilariously bad. It's been a cult classic for almost 30 years simply because of how badly funny it turned out to be.
CLASSIC
It really is
I love Tremors, its a fun movie to watch.
A fellow was asking questions as I was leaving the theater. Wanted to get my reaction. I told him he had a hit. Great monster movie.
I've always loved the characters in that one practical effects and design on the creature was great, but without Val and Earl if wouldn't have been such a fun movie. Their dialogue really just pulled we the audience in. Disagreements between adults decided by Paper, Scissors, Rock. That's how my husband and I settled in lighting in our dining room 18 years ago.
The whole movie was so much fun, I can sit down enjoy it regardless of how many times I've seen it.
And I think they missed a Graboid in their count. One at Burt and Heather's, I think two checking the store, and Mindy's mom said "this one's going too.
I think a total of 4
As suggestion for a show to look into, and I'm not a Patron, but I thought maybe you should give it a look.
Mira Furlong, who played Delenn on Babylon 5 (a female character that was Bad Ass, and she was that due to her character, not a McGuffin.
Old video, so I'm sure it's been answered, but at 20:44 when you asked what that was and if they were making a bomb, the machine is a brass cleaner.
Burt and Heather are preppers, so they have equipment to reload/reuse their own ammo.
The gun Burt uses a moment later is supposed to be an elephant gun, but because real ones are absurdly expensive, they are using an old 8 gauge shotgun with brass cartridges
You gotta do more Kevin Bacon movies...Death Sentence, Stir of Echoes, JFK. Being born in 1979 & a movie lover I've seen every single movie you have reviewed so far, an Kevin Bacon is a friggin Phenomenal Actor & often slept on. Tremors is top tier entertainment. 👏🏽💯 🙌🏽
And Barry Levinson's "Sleepers".
@Isabel Silva I was just about to mention Sleepers.
There are 6 or 7 sequels. Love to see you guys do them. Awesome character development.
This is my best classic movie ever...whenever I see it it gives me comfort and its so fun to watch
This was one of my favorite movies in the 90s. Just ordered Tremors 7 movie blu-ray set. :)
Makes me think of Pumpkin Carving every time I see these things Explode
I remember being so distressed when the shopkeeper died.
The twin brothers interaction is great, btw you guys should introduce yourselves to the RUclips audience. Cheers.
Great movie that spawned 5 sequels, a prequel, and TV series. The girl Mindy is the blonde granddaughter in Jurassic Park.
Why haven't you guys watched parts 2 and 3 yet? They're great, 4 is pretty good and everything after that is kinda... they're alright as far continuing the franchise goes.
this movie was played on cable for 25 years before you stopped seeing it. Where are the movies like this today?
Tremors is one of those movies that I NEVER tire of watching. Another one is 'Final Countdown', starring Martin Sheen: in 1980, the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier, while off the Hawaiian coast, gets sucked into a time warp to back to December 5, 1941...I won't spoil it, but check it out
Earl and Valentine made this movie whole for me😤❤️🔥 effects were the graboid even with the time they were made win with this👏👏👏👏✨😁
Rest In Peace Fred Ward, an all time great character actor
Originally the title of this film was going to be "Land Shark." That title was discarded once Saturday Night Live introduced their Land Shark skit.
'Hollow Man' with Kevin Bacon, Elizabeth Shue, Josh Brolin is a good flick too...
"sh** for all you know they can fly.... God i hope not "..... *nervous laughter *
One of my favourite movies!
Great reaction, thanks for sharing! Hope you'll do more 80s and 90s movie reactions!
How about "Crocodile Dundee" and "Weekend at Bernie's" and "Fierce Creatures" for more comedy reactions?
If there really had been a stampede, wouldn't the safest place have been in the back of the truck, where Earl was already in? 🤣
Wonder how they did the worm eye view. Looks like they maybe did it like in the Evil Dead. Strap a 2x4 to a wheelbarrow, then put the camera on the 2x4, and roll it just over the ground?
Beginning with a 2000 subscribers rant, and now you're at 30,000. LOL so glad the channel has blown up.
Also COWS!! 🤣
Can you fly those words make me laugh now. After seeing the 3rd movie no spoilers people. Let them find out for themselves if they wish. Pumpkinhead is also a under rated movie . Wich is sad because Stan Winston was one of the directors . His special effects team also did all the special effects for the movie . After he worked on Aliens .
I remember back when I was in a kid at Blockbuster I was always interested in Pumpkinhead; something about the box always made me want to watch it. That's one I need to add to the list!
It had issue when it came out . Like they originally planned for a October release . So they promoted it did posters and things . Then somethings happened so it didn't get released that year . But it got released the fallowing year but by then . The movie lost all of hipe around it . But throw TV syndication an DVD it got a good following. There are 4 Pumpkinhead movies in total. I like them all but. I watch them in this order 1,3,4 because . They are all contacted I won't say how . The 2nd one is more of a stand alone movie.
@@83shadow3 It's sad how that happens with some movies, they don't get their moment to shine but at least it's got a following over the years.
When I'm playing games or listening to music I have to wear headphones. I cannot STAND earbuds at all, I haaaate them. lol It's full blown headphones or nothing for me.
"A little bit of the spooky wooky." 😊
