  • When he died, Prince left behind a shoe collection that included more than 1,000 pairs of custom-made shoes, nearly all boots with high heels. Now, for the first time, Paisley Park - where Prince lived and worked in Minnesota - will showcase 300 of the artist's most famous and outrageous pairs.

Sad to say that it was those high heels combined with his high octane/high impact performance style that led to his hip/back issues and ultimately the pain killer addiction that took his life. He truly sacrificed his body in his meticulous dedication to his craft. Respect and RIP to the Purple One.

Grew up and still am a huge fan! But as I'm older now and experiencing foot issues...and learning quite a bit about feet and shoes....I can only imagine the pain he was in! Modern day shoes such as Nike, New Balance, etc. and not good for your feet. But Prince's boots were just devastating to his feet, leading up to more problems in the back, hips and legs. And you add up all those acrobatic dance moves he did during the Diamonds and Pearl's era and the jumping! It's a good thing he was so light weight or he would've not been able to hardly walk. I did notice in later years he walked in flat shoes and he seemed more relaxed. But his shoes and fashion really are works of art in my opinion. I still think his clothes were THE best looking and they did look comfortable (not including the boots on the comfort.)

And the sad part is they took a toll on his back. Knees and joints that led too the pain pills. I hope in the afterlife, he's wearing comtable flats. Lol. Rip sweet Prince.

Funny, his attorney and good friend L. Londell McMillan makes no mention of Prince being an abuser of drugs. Many of us know he was murdered. Dam shame how evil people are in this world. They KILL and then LIE to cover things up.

The one thing I admired about Prince was his inclusivity. People from different backgrounds, shades, sizes, hair lengths and more. I am personally feeling challenged because I am hoping his estate (I have not researched it) is under the control of his family and it has a chance to be passed on through their progeny. I don't want this be something where...let's call them people of greed....somehow wrangle it for themselves and overtime tell stories from only their perspective. Like Cleopatra one day far in the future, it becomes this great debate over Prince's actual origins. I am struggling because I am learning so much of this has happened in the past and I want us to escape this.

I worked for chiropractors for years and that’s the worst thing you do is wear any kind of heels totally screws up your knees your back. He was amazing truly an icon, and it is sad that he basically gave his life for what he loved doing the most.

At the very least and without question he was the most athletic pop superstar ever.......to that end, I wonder if he had a PT on staff to tape his ankles before a performance.

After Morris Day had hip surgery,
he recommended the same for his pal, Prince.
Of course Prince had no interest.
    After his death,
Morris regretted not staying after him about that.
