- Imagine you’re paralyzed and can’t move or speak. How would you communicate with the world? This video describes the principles of early brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) designed to read electrical brain signals, analyze how brain activity patterns contribute to vocal tract movements, and reproduce the sound patterns as speech. The model is a first step toward one day restoring paralyzed individuals’ natural rate of communication and quality of life. For more information see ja.ma/37dfVSx and www.nature.com....

Imagine Steven Hawking speaking at the speed of thought
Now do this but with human emotions, and that would be on the same innovational level of the discovery of fire.
Might be able to soeday, actually!
I tried something like this on a student project (using emotion input to application), and the software we were using did have "emotion" indexes, they just weren't very accurate, it seemed.
But I'm sure given enough time, developments in both AI and our understanding of the brain will probably allow us to do something with much more accuracy.
Definely!
They did it.
Or don't. This technology is already being used for evil.
It would be interesting to see if you could use this to record what you say in your dreams.
Also if it can record thought just before and after death which can solve the mystery of NDEs
Thank you for this amazing research and may we all prosper with love, intelligence and great health ❤️ 💜 💖
I've thought about things like this, I want to actually get some brain wave scanners and use a neural network to make something similar for people who can speak for them selves
Though it would be very expensive and would take a few years, but I'm committed
Same here , I have a sister that is unable to communicate with me so I plan on doing this aswell
Wow this is so interesting, I would like to learn more about this a lot will be helped by this... Amazing
I thing that the reason the vocal tone sounds lower from the synthesised speech may possibly be due to us tending to think in the mind with a bit of a deeper voice than we speak with as the voice in our mind is an emulation/ imma ration of how we actually sound to outselves and to others, just a thought 💭
hello JAMA network do you have neural mind voice device which can reproduce sound from mind neuro voice through output device
How to purchase device
Imagine if they build a machine that can read people thoughts by scaning the brain alone.
