Thank you so much for simplifying it. If I receive 75/100 marks in Calculus and the Class average in my University is 43, and total number of students for this subject in this semester are around 8635 and the marks reqruired to achieve 4/4 GPA are 85, do you think I could get 4 GPA as my university follows relative grading. Also, I'd appreciate it if you give a relatively easier formula for me to calculate the grade using the above information.
Sorry for a late reply. 85 to get 4 GPA would be an absolute scheme. To calculate your chances we should know the maximum and minimum class scores along with standard deviation. Eventually the grade thresholds in relative grading are decided by the instructor, so it's very hard to say what would happen.
@SolvingSkills thank you for the response. Yes, I took statistics and probability course and learned all of it but unfortunately our university follows the absolute grading scheme. I was in the 99tn percentile in my physics course but the grade I received was 3.54/4 as my total scores were 79/100 overall. I wish our university had actually followed the relative grading scheme as the exams are very tough here.
I am still confused but i wanna ask i got 42 out of 50 in phy lab mid and 1 person get 47 highest 2 got 46 1 got 45 if we look only midterm exam what grade should i get in relatiive grading
I was so confused about the calculation of CGPA...This video cleared all my doubts... Thank you Sir🙏
Glad it helped
how did he get -4.68?
By subtracting the minimum from the maximum of Z scores. This number essentially represents the range of Z scores.

What is the average and standard deviation for the mid exam?
Thanks a lot. Life saving video !!!
My pleasure sir :)
Thank you for this extremely useful video.
My pleasure
