  • There is a lot more to the Alone experience than can ever be aired on the show, particularly, as in my case, when you aren't introduced until well into the second week. I filmed this just before Episode 4 was aired to fill in some of the gaps and explain more or what I was up to than the snippets that got shown

Sounds like we had a lot of similarities to our sites. Very few blueberries, but I did eat lingon quite a bit. I did not eat many crow berries because they're diuretic and I didn't want to lose salt, but they were everywhere. I had to hike a 1/2 mile to get to water deep enough for my net.
Cool idea to peel your poles, I'd never thought of doing that for that reason before. And I love how you used your saw to do it. I have the same saw and I'll have to give it a shot sometime.
    Nice work out there!

yeah, the crow berries didn't feel like they had much in the way of nourishment, but the juice was refreshing and nice to put something in my belly. I had pretty much zero access to deep water from my site. pretty frustrating for fishing! it was intense watching you pull up that trout! i would lie in bed at night and dream about them!
Thanks, sharpening the back of that saw worked great, it made an amazing draw knife and limbing tool

You focused on being fed by other things. Good advice wherever you are. Thank you.

I really think your double wall shelter is one of the best I've seen to date for cold climates. Good job!

This has been the best season so far. Can’t believe your in the Antarctic. I remember you licking the birch tree sap. Lol. Your doing a great job on the show. I bet it’s really wild watching the episodes from home. Congratulations on making the show and I hope you really enjoyed your journey. Cool video 👍

I don't remember them showing you had pemmican. Did you make it yourself?

It was one of my 10 items- they just list it as "food item" on the History website i think.
We didn't have it yet when they filmed us talking about our items in our intros so it wasnt in that footage and they showed me holding jerky instead. I would never have chosen jerky though- lean meat was the most likely food we would be getting out there so why bring it out? It's all about fat out there and only the pemmican had enough fat to be worthwhile to bring.
Unfortunately, i wasn't allowed to make it myself, but the pemmican they provided was great.

Was there a reason given why you couldn't have hooks with barbs?
