    Lot of respect for the guy that won the first time he was on Alone with you he was very good but you would have beat him if he didn't shoot the moose .you are a pretty incredible survivalist no doubt one of the best in the country.

    Woniya, congratulations again on your monumental achievements winning Frozen. 1st Woman and longest total time ALONE. So happy to see you looking healthy and happy. I truly hope all your dreams come true. Your coat for frozen is a work of art. Can’t wait to hear the whole video to see if FUNCTION & FASHION came together this time. You and your channel are so interesting. One day when I have more time, I will look into your Patreon. Thanks

      Could you send me the Patreon information so I’ll have it? People always mention links for different things but half the time, I can never find them. Thanks
      Oh, I just had a crazy idea when I saw you posing in your Hand made Parka for the different Alone shows. Again, this is a compliment to all of you strong women. What about a calendar of each of you in your full gear from the show. I feel so many of you are naturally photogenic it would be such a cool memento for each one of you and all of your fans. Of course for the ladies who are fans of the men, they’re welcome to do it too. I know it’s probably a silly idea but you seem like someone that is open minded to different ideas and this one just popped in my crazy mind.
      Being the show and results were sometime back, what have you been able to do about your wilderness school or whatever you mentioned you had plans for if you won? Thanks and take care.

    Congratulations to winning !!! I didnt know until I saw in the comments, you are soo worth it as far as I can see. Your attention to details is just incredible. I feel kind of proud that you are using scandinavian reindeer fur, I am from Sweden... But the thing you noticed about shedding is really true, I have one at home that I have used as a sleeping pad (combined with a old fashioned closed cell mat). The shedding is wat made me stop using it, its now just a backup in my storage.

    • @BuckskinRevolution
      @BuckskinRevolution  2 года назад

      Yes, as reindeer is a hair not fur, nothing seems to keep them from shedding. They are still warm and soft of course, one just has to get used to getting hair all over them! sometimes okay and sometimes not good!

    You live in Cali as do I. How do I get a permit to harvest roadkill for fur processing? Thanks! Congratulations on your big win!

    • @BuckskinRevolution
      @BuckskinRevolution  2 года назад +2

      So; it's kind of a gray area right now where it isn't illegal to pick them up but also the permit process hasn't been finalized. You can get an "educational use" permit but a regular use one. I have had officers stop and help me when picking them up though, so for now it seems to be okay to do so without a specific permit

    Very nice work! I’m working on making a moose hide coat that sheds a lot like that. I worked at a butcher shop and a fellow brought it in and didn’t want the hide so I snagged it up. I fleshed it but sent it to a tannery. Your skill set is amazing and I’ve enjoyed the brain tanning videos. I’ve got a couple elk and deer hides I’m gonna give a go at tanning. Thanks for the great content

    So beautifully skilled you are.
    Q’s: Do you/would you make coats for buyers? Are your garments had sewn or sewn by machine? If so what sewing machine do you use or recommend for such tasks? Do you sell patterns?

    • @BuckskinRevolution
      @BuckskinRevolution  2 года назад

      I use a combination of hand sewing and machine sewing, depending on the project and my needs. But no, I no longer do commission work.

  • @bonilsson3161
    @bonilsson3161 2 года назад

    Huge advantage with those natural material you are using is they are not flamable. Fur, leather wool are quite fire safe at least compared to syntetics.

    • @BuckskinRevolution
      @BuckskinRevolution  2 года назад

      Very true- I brought a synthetic pair of pants this time for the earlier, wetter part of the season and left with quite a few significant holes in them from sparks. My wool pants, which I sat closer to the fire in, not one!

  • @LampWaters
    @LampWaters Год назад

    Maybe for the wet weather have a beaver cloak.

    • @BuckskinRevolution
      @BuckskinRevolution  Год назад +1

      That would be fabulous, but cloaks aren't one of the allowed clothing g items on Alone. Also beaver fur is amazing and waterproof on the beaver, but doesn't stay that way when it isn't being constantly piled, preened and tended to by the beavers themselves

  • @mattstosh6960

    I am curious if you need a Trapping permit/license when you pick up "Road Kill"?

    • @BuckskinRevolution
      @BuckskinRevolution  2 года назад

      It depends where you live, every state has different regulations, fro quite illegal to laces where they call to alert you, and everything in between

    • @mattstosh6960
      @mattstosh6960 2 года назад

      Thank you. I'll have to check. I would imagine it would depend upon whether the road is under Federal or State jurisdiction too.@@BuckskinRevolution

  • @TheSplashey
    @TheSplashey 2 года назад

    I wonder how the type of tanning affects the hair slippage on reindeer.. for example I've heard folks say rawhide is better for sleeping pads than chrome tanned because the hair doesn't slip. Also, on another note, is waxed buckskin a thing? like how people make oilcloth?

    • @BuckskinRevolution
      @BuckskinRevolution  2 года назад

      Yes, bark tanning would reduce hair slippage more, but would be a bit tight and stiff for a garment of this kind. And ni, buckskin is by its nature very absorbent, waxing it would be like trying to waterproof a towel, or downs r make sense, where as grain on leathers are naturally water resistant so a better choice if that's what you're after

    • @TheSplashey
      @TheSplashey 2 года назад

      @@BuckskinRevolution Ah yes, it seems the same challenge getting breathable and waterproof gear applies to natural materials too! Thanks for your response.

    I just started watching frozen and think they should have been given shotguns for safety. Polar bears can be very aggressive and will charge straight for meal if they’re hungry. I’m only the second episode but they were all crazy for going out there with nothing…👍🏾✌🏾
