Guess I have to stop wimping out of front squats! Seriously though great informative video, I’d love to see a series with you and Steve doing home-gym alternatives for different machines.
Haha yeah… I honestly hated them at first, but weirdly grew to like them and I think it fixed a lot of my issues with back squats! There are more to come hope they help
Glad it helped, there are some more similar videos on the pipe work so hope they help too. Let me know if there’s anything specifically you’d like to see
Have you tried landmine squats? There’s a lot less pressure on the knees in this movement. Also things like box squats are great if you have bad knees- basically squat and sit onto a bench behind you so you have support at the bottom phase of the motion
You’re right they don’t, unless you’re doing something wrong. Should’ve really said alternatives to squats as most people know they are leg press alternatives and are usually looking for something else
Im subscribed with notifications turned on, why am i only seeing this 11 days after its release. this makes me sad. Great content as always. not a fan of weight lifting shoes but thats just a preference. My lower back is also in bits so glad ive got something to work on now. Thanks
I know people that love them and yeah makes sense for the money and space saving design- but heard others say it feels awkward and some even say they get pain (but it’s not likely from the machine but some other underlying issue) It’s not on this list as it’s technically still a leg press (not an alternative)

You can try Zercher squats too
Great video! Legs can be one of the trickiest things for me to work in my home gym. Appreciate the info! Subbed!

So tell me, what is so magical about 90°?
What modifications can you make if you have bad knees?

How do front squats put a strain on lower back?

Glad it helped amigo! Make sure you look after your back 😉
What about a vertical leg press machine? They are one of the cheapest machines I could find for home, and also don't seem to take up that much space.

Spanish squats immediately cause knee pain??
What do you mean? It causes you knee pain when you do Spanish squats?
@@stronghomegym
I feel a sharp pain in the front of my knee and thought I wouldn’t feel that as it would take the pain off the knee.
@@Sharetheroad3333 @HoylesFitness any ideas here? Have you had any knee injuries in the past?
@@Sharetheroad3333could be something like patella tendinitis but it’s prob best to get diagnosed if it persists
solid advice
Glad it helped s
