Amazing build, man. Made it myself and it’s working wonders for my leg days. One side note for those who are using this on a cheaper rack: Cut a piece of wood (or pvc in my case) that measures the distance from both bottoms of the rack. Great job figuring out the angles, leverages and substitutions for steel components. I built it and agree that the movement feels natural and surprisingly similar to a leg press machine (which I've always wanted and will never have room for).

Only downsides are that the right oeddale unscrews itself while I use it and increasing the tension causes it to squeak while in use. Both are minor issues that aren't that important to me. So I give it 5 stars.
Thanks for this. I was shopping for a leg press when I came across your video. Your tutorial was so well done and easy to follow and bonus, I managed to use wood I had hanging around my garage. I added a short pipe to the backside of the foot pad to hook a resistance band to. I find its smoother with the band and weight plates than with weight plates alone. Thanks again, I'm going to check out your other videos.
Well considering your leg press is about 20% the cost of theirs I think yours is still the winner, especially since it wouldn’t be difficult to either buy or build a sled. Love it. Good job sir.
This is amazing. Works just as good on a Hafl Rack. I added an extra 60'' Pipe and used Galvanized Tube Straps and mounted it to the corner of the 2x4's and where the the foot stand meet. This will replace the using of my barbell and getting extra J hooks. (also will save the barbel from possibly vending over time). The other thing I did was used some left over cable from my pully system and add to ends of the cable, a carabeaner to go from the end of the half rack to the bottom of the benchg where i goes around the bench foot. In the video Kaize used tie straps that go from across the rack. Mine is set up to go from back of rack to bench. You just have to measure the size cable you need for you settings. In all this saved me 400 + $. Awesome job. Thanks

Yes, I addressed this in a short. Basically there is zero resistance at the bottom and 50% at the top. If you put 500 pounds on there the max you’re going to feel is 250 and that’s when you’re at the top of the movement. It’s not ideal but it’s a trade off when using a rack attachment rather than a standalone leg press. I use bands to increase resistance without having to add more weights. I’ve also messed around with connecting it to a cable machine for consistent resistance.
Turns out, my half rack as 33” between the j-hooks and the wall. What would happen if I shortened the upper arms a few inches? Would it mess up the usefulness of this? TIA
@@KaizenDIYGym thanks - I weigh about 165 lbs and like to add weight to my dips (about 90 lbs or so) - do you think 3/4" would still be okay or should i just use the 1" ?

Thanks for watching! I got this question a lot after posting this video, so I actually made a follow up video testing out the weight capacity. ruclips.net/video/JXZ6dLdPL-U/видео.html In that video I got up to 450 pounds before I ran out of room on the weight sleeves.
3x3 racks are definitely more versatile for rack attachments. The rack in this video is the Ethos 1.0 and can be purchased for less than $800. I recently upgraded to a REP rack but it has similar dimensions.
Hey thanks! Sadly, I've only had time to make this over the last couple of weeks. I had a close family member pass away and had to take a break for a bit. Don't worry, it's still on my list.
I found a couple videos that other people have made ruclips.net/video/wuKh9YGRdfE/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/5b1wDQryf9Q/видео.html might be a good place to start.
Hey bro hope ur doing well I looked at those videos really didn’t do it for me but if u could please look at this video I found I like the build he did just curious if it could be built a little easier and it can hold 500lbs on the bench or squat
Your measurements are little bit off . 2 x 4 is around 3.5" wide at least here in Canada. when try to assembly 32" and 26.5" I am missing .75 inch on 26.5" and on 14". Is it OK to cut 32" and 19" little bit to be able to fit with shorter boards?
@@northswole You'll need something to cut your plywood down to size. You can use a skilsaw or a jigsaw instead of a table saw, but I don't think a mitre saw would work.
The easiest way to stop the bench from sliding is by using straps. You can strap the bench to the rack. This information is in the video about 3/4 of the way through.
R3place that diamond kick Plate with Skateboard deck tape then you just cut $40 out of your cost can get this down closer to 100$ depending on. What you already have on hand!
Looks like weights are too close to vertical at the beginning of the movement. Should modify it to have weights move more vertical which would make it a more even force over the entire movement.
I’ve done so many follow up videos since posting this two years ago. Check them out if you’re really interested in seeing an improvement on the resistance curve.

Yes, I addressed this in a short. Basically there is zero resistance at the bottom and 50% at the top. My rack is 59” deep, I don’t think you’d want to use it on a rack much shallower than that. It does need some space to move.
Can you do a stand alone weight sled/prowler? Been wanting to build one
I can definitely do that. I’ll add it to the list!
Nice.
How much weight have you put on?
Thanks for watching! I got this question a lot after posting this video, so I actually made a follow up video testing out the weight capacity. ruclips.net/video/JXZ6dLdPL-U/видео.html
In that video I got up to 450 pounds before I ran out of room on the weight sleeves.
@@KaizenDIYGym Fantastic!!!
I'm going to wach it. Thx.
Hi cak you send me the full list of the side yoy nedd amd all the staff i neeed toake this
What adjustable weight bench is that you have?
It’s the REP AB-3000, I love it. Great bench
wow. i need this
Yeah, you should try it out
Pendulum squat! It’s what the people want, it’s what the people need
You must have read my mind 🤯 check out the short I posted yesterday
@@KaizenDIYGym yes! Just found your channel last night. You are making some cool stuff!
Do u ever get compared to CM Punk?
Haha, no but I'll take it. He's a bad ass
Sub'd, this will be the perfect project to add an additional function to my power rack.
Awesome, thank you! I'd love to see how yours turns out!
Waow THX!
Heck yeah, I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Hackenschmidt that would be very interessting.
thank you!
I gotta sell my Nautulis rack that has the cable pulleys on the back for a square rack like this one.
3x3 racks are definitely more versatile for rack attachments. The rack in this video is the Ethos 1.0 and can be purchased for less than $800. I recently upgraded to a REP rack but it has similar dimensions.
How big does your rig have to be to get the full range of motion out of that? I think my rig is only about 2’ long and folds out from the wall.

Wow thank you very much for the reply!
Hey bro nicely done any luck on the DIY bench press ?
Oh man I am sorry for ur lose
Hey bro hope ur doing well I looked at those videos really didn’t do it for me but if u could please look at this video I found I like the build he did just curious if it could be built a little easier and it can hold 500lbs on the bench or squat
ruclips.net/video/PO_shwybp3c/видео.html
Your measurements are little bit off . 2 x 4 is around 3.5" wide at least here in Canada. when try to assembly 32" and 26.5" I am missing .75 inch on 26.5" and on 14". Is it OK to cut 32" and 19" little bit to be able to fit with shorter boards?
Honestly, I made this video so long ago I have no idea. I’d say just modify the dimensions to work with your lumber.
I just got another 2x4 from home depot and cut little bit longer.
How much weight can it hold before breaking down?
Yes! I answer this question and lots of related questions in the follow up video ruclips.net/video/JXZ6dLdPL-U/видео.html
@@KaizenDIYGym do you need both the table saw and miter saw or just the miter will be enough?
@@northswole You'll need something to cut your plywood down to size. You can use a skilsaw or a jigsaw instead of a table saw, but I don't think a mitre saw would work.
How to stop bench sliding back when leg pressing heavy?
The easiest way to stop the bench from sliding is by using straps. You can strap the bench to the rack. This information is in the video about 3/4 of the way through.
@@KaizenDIYGym Sorry I missed it. Great video
Most important question is/was... What is the weight capacity?
You’re right! That question is so important I made a video about it. There’s a link to that video in the description of this video 👍
Thanks
Genius
Thanks man! I love building this stuff!
In Spain I can't find any distributor that sells it and buying in the USA from the Canary Islands would be very expensive.
Nice. And for the record, the angles on Titan's model are too low to be a worthwhile sled.
Thanks! I’ve definitely heard that before.
Pls make plates and dumbells
The only DIYs I’ve seen are the concrete one, is that what you’re requesting?
@@KaizenDIYGym yes ❤️❤️
R3place that diamond kick Plate with Skateboard deck tape then you just cut $40 out of your cost can get this down closer to 100$ depending on. What you already have on hand!
That’s a great suggestion
Anyone figured out how to make bench to stay in the place without straps? I am thinking to do something with 2x4, like T bar to connect to the rack.
