    Police like e-bikes too. They’re not worried. They may stop you just to check it out but they’ll never impound it. Just show them the 250w sticker and that will suffice.

    I love that us, savvy seniors are getting healthier every day on these amazing machines. Have a 3000w hub coming in a few days. Woohoo! Btw, Horrible feeling when your e-bike stops running far from home. At least you can limp home. Lol. Been there, done that Good luck friend 🤞🏽

    Wow. I have the gen 3 with the same battery combo on my mountain bike. Mounting the battery was definitely interesting. There are only 2 holes that align with the triple bob mount, and I completely sheared the first pair of screws I had in there. I ordered some grade 5 titanium screws and added some extra padding around the battery, and that seems to have fixed it. I've taken it close to 200 miles so far without issue, but it definitely seems like yours is toast. I wonder what the motor temp was when it failed. I've gotten mine in the mid 140's (f) but I try not to push it too far. Fastest I've gotten the bike is 49mph so far, running with a 52v 30a/hr battery and 52 tooth inner chain ring.
    Really hope CYC fixes yours, but I also cringe knowing how long I had to wait just to get 1

    • @baconbuttties

    I have a ristretto 303fs with a cyc motor x1 pro gen 2 and never had any issues with it. It might be the extra weight of the hub motor. Hope you get it fixed. I'm thinking on a mid drive on my cargo bike. Not sure on which one still thinking on the cyc motor but with a quick release axle wheel.

    • @baconbuttties
      @baconbuttties  Год назад

      I really don't think it's the weight of the hub as it's easy to pedal in the large gear I had it in and kept in the easy gear all the way. I suppose it would be the same if someone heavier than me had it on their bike.

    Hi like your video. I've got a problem we'll it's not a problem it's a question my controller is 45amp I'm making a triangle box just a bit bigger. I've cut hall wires so I'm using choc box connection what amps should I use I mean the wires aren't to thick would it be 15amp or 30amp 60amp are to big I've used them in the past for battery live wires to controlleri don't like bullet connectors it's going the proper ones on Amazon so I thought choc box connector the connection are different on hall wires

The lug connector in yellow plastic box is just a bolt with a nut to keep wires together. I seen on messages them fan cooling fans for hub motor blimy there no cheap. I think I will go on utube to see if anyone has used choc box connection thanks. I haven't seen more videos on ebikes I serpose if you have a good bike. I'm surprised you didn't snap the chain. The hub motor or the controller has a speed limiter. So when you reached a certain speed it's like riding with the brakes on. I was thinking that would have happened before I even watched the video. Sorry dude. Hope this don't discourage you. We all learn from are mistakes. Love your videos.

    • @baconbuttties
      @baconbuttties  Год назад

      No speed limiter at all as I have set controller to over 60 mph and have also been down a hill faster than I was going up it which was about 30mph .
      I didn't feel any braking at all.
      Where did you get this information that it starts braking?

    • @justinshields7501
      @justinshields7501 Год назад

      Not that it starts braking but it just won't allow you to go faster. So the hub is restricting the cyc motor. Even though the controller is set at 60 mph it would never allow you to go sixty,right. like on my hub motor bike when I have it in the hardest gear no matter how hard I pedal it will not go faster than 28. I could be wrong. I watched another video from this guy that had a 1500 watt hub motor and he did what you did.his motor didn't fail, but he could not go any faster than he did with his hub motor. So i think he had a similar issue.

      Sorry but what you are saying makes no sense at all, there is no limiter or anything. What you are describing is when the motor stops giving you assistance and it feels like its harder. Its just a sensation you are feeling and the hub does not stop you from going any faster.
      I can absolutely assure you that you are wrong, otherwise you would slow on steep hills.

    • @justinshields7501

      I read that some brand name bike controllers are hard limited in the controller. So you can't change speed. I only go 30 down hills. With a 52\11 gear. Which is only 2mph faster. I go way faster on my pedal bikes down hills. Good luck, hope you figure it out.

      Un motor central aprovecha mucho mejor la potencia que un HUB, mayor aceleración, mayor velocidad y mayor autonomía, la masa suspendida de un motor HUB en una rueda penaliza mucho, de ahí que las mejores motos y bicicletas eléctricas tienen motor central. Con un motor central puedes subir colinas que son imposibles para un motor HUB. Otra desventaja del motor HUB es su peor disipación del calor, de ahí que una avería común en estos motores con alta potencia continúa es quemar el bobinado.
      Un motor Bafang BBSHD con ASI BAC855 y 3.250w puede alcanzar las 52mph (84kph) como en mi eBike, para lograr esta misma velocidad con un motor HUB hay que subir a los 5.000w

    • @termikina
      @termikina Год назад

      A mid-drive motor makes much better use of power compared to a hub motor, providing greater acceleration, higher speed, and increased range. The additional weight of a hub motor mounted on a wheel significantly penalizes performance, which is why the best electric motorcycles and bicycles utilize mid-drive motors. With a mid-drive motor, you can conquer hills that would be impossible for a hub motor. Another disadvantage of hub motors is their inferior heat dissipation, resulting in a common issue of burning the winding in high-powered motors.
      A Bafang BBSHD motor with ASI BAC855 and 3,250 watts can reach speeds of up to 52 mph (84 kph), as seen on my eBike. To achieve the same speed with a hub motor, you would need to increase the power output to 5,000 watts.

I have a 1500w rear hub motor and a1000w front hub motor. on my engwe pro 2 and it eats' any hill any time and i live in Spain and it is very hilly out here...lol. But Mid- Drives are very good if the price was better.

      A 750 watt mid drive is more "powerful" than a weak 3kw hub motor because it uses the gearing of the bike

    You no I've passed comment I find your video interesting and you seem to no alit of knowledge on ebikes. I went the easy way for my age and bought the kit my battery is om back. Didn't like in frame. I no in frame it balance up bike mine on back but its more to the seat. How can I send photos of my bike people always come to me and ask about the bike it's because I've made it different all the lights motor bike mirror. I don't like the the display sw900 that came with 45amp controller can't keep an eye on battery temperature motor temp if anything happens it would be a number would show. I've suscribed to your channel I find you very interesting and also you get on with anything you might think it will work definitely different from other bike videos. You remix f me of Tony from vortech

    Wait people build these? It's like the Homermobile of bikes...
    I am surprised it even worked at all.
    Maybe try a rear IGH if you want more speed AND torque WITH less weight. If you're worried about chains, spend a few hundred on belt transmission from Gates or Veer.
    If you're going to spend that cash, why would you chase brute force numbers with a kludge guaranteed to fail instead of performance and elegance?
    This is exactly like putting two motors in a car with two uncoordinated controllers that don't know what each other's sensors or motors are doing and then stepping on the accelerator and expecting it to perform with the sum of powers on paper when it will do as yours did, eat itself when it encounters the right confluence of events in both controllers that have them conflicting instead of synergizing.
    I would 100% tell a customer, no matter the subs on YT, to get lost on a warranty claim. A top reason small businesses die is cultivating customers that cost them money instead of make it for them. If I was Engwie and someone tried to warranty claim me when I can watch the video of them clobbering their warranty, I'd just ignore it because I'm in China and that's a terrible customer (we want them to go away).
    I have talked to Cycmotor a bunch about several projects and they're really agreeable people - I hope their liberal warranty polices don't eventually kill the company. They'll work with pretty much anyone on custom projects, you can get bare motors and integration help from them. Once I finish up some "interface" prototypes (cycloidal gearing, magnetic gearing to allow regen/braking to work properly with a freewheel, expanded drivetrains, etc) they're on the short list of vendors.
    Grin Tech can probably help you (not an affiliate, they just make open controllers and other hardware for PEV) and they have a LOT of educational videos about PEV tech, builds, custom mods, etc available and are constantly updating with new stuff. They are exclusively hub motor designers/developers at this time, though - but everything of theirs is Canadian designed/built in house. They know what they're doing and they share knowledge freely. I have also talked to them a bunch about several projects (controllers, charging, mag-lock type braking, etc) and they will give you loads of advice on integration with your own builds.
    But man, this is why I unsubbed before and the algo thought to give you another shot - keep doing you but know that there is guidance out there should you wish to seek it, then your projects will be things people want to build instead of choosing between a mortgage payment and buying another one of what you just destroyed. Please ask Cycmotor for help with integration - they will help you, I am sure, and that's likely why they're even giving you warranty consideration. It's an interesting project, albeit disastrously integrated and configured, and as a disabled person who uses a tadpole to get around instead of wheelchair I am myself working on adding braking and reverse in a couple small front hub motors even though my primary drive system is mid drive(TSDZ2B)/belt transmission/enviolo CVT IGH and super strong it can't do reverse or braking on its own.
    After a while I got tired of arts and crafts projects and wanted to start building things that Just Work(TM) when I want to use them; the process of driving towards designs that work are what's going to bring in the long-term subs instead of people just wanting some temporary entertainment in the "fails" category (which has already been dominated by several other brands).

      Why are you surprised it even worked????
      The rear hub motor was not turned on. You really are not making much sense as I was just using one motor not two.
      I modify ebikes to see what works and what doesn't work and I enjoy doing it.
      You have totally misunderstood what I was doing.
