Wow, man! Thanks for sharing this video. The show was amazing, and what a band! I Takin always my hat off to Ernie Watts, who has been a monster since... well, forever. I mean, the ideas, phrases, high and low notes and all equal on the alto, tenor, or soprano. simply amazing! At 3:13, such an even full sound with that huge mouthpiece. It takes a lot of air and the right embouchure to control it.
Christleib played the great sax solo on Steely Dan’s Deacon Blues!
I got the pleasure of meeting Pete last night, was amazing
You lucky guy!
I love this clip. I bought both albums that the Tonight Show band released. Top notch stuff!
Christlieb & Watts and this whole band defined world class! (I'd forgotten the mystery eye over Johnny's shoulder for 1984 (Big brother).
Christlieb, crushing it!
It's wonderful to hear a great conversation of two awesome horns during sax.
wonderful

Kool!! . 3:18 I think they call it a slam dunk :)
Woodwind gods!
Ernie must have had some time to record his soprano and tenor sax tracks for Night Court just a short time before this aired.
Wow! That is a band that can drive! Who's on bass?
Joel DiBartolo
Titan tenor battle!
Didn't Ernie Watts play with Gino vannelli?
Ernie slightly behind the beat?
"Good Stufff!" Three great albums too!
