As a side note, if I know what you are referring to by "swan dives", they work pretty much the same way in Syndicate as in Unity (diving down to swing off a rope or bar). Surprised when there's someone who still talk about ACS which I think some of underrated & underappreciated in the franchise, lol. Honestly it would be better if the manual jump button isn't remove and instead automatically put the character on top of carriage when there's one below. I think Ubisoft just wants the player to use grapple more frequently
One thing that I hate is that after a patch (I don't know what patch exactly but you can see if you are on 1.00 version) they removed the possibility to climb directly in the roof after you climb it with the grappling hook. Now you just hang at the edge and make another move to reach the top but in 1.00 you can climb it entirely.
Are you referring to jumping to grab a bar with hands, swinging forward and then turning 180 degrees while still on the bar? I think you just input backwards movement after grabbing the bar, and possibly press the "eject button" (a on xbox, spacebar on keyboard). Not positive on that though
Manual jump was removed in Syndicate but I’m thinking vertical camera angle could be the key to working around its absence. For example, maybe angling the camera up when sprinting at a wall will make Jacob or Evie jump onto the wall earlier than if the camera was level. I need to reinstall Syndicate to test this.
@@Dallin_S I meant just running straight at a wall with no gaps in front of it and angling the camera up. Even if that did work, though, manual jump would’ve been useful for more things than jumping onto walls earlier. @@dachshund_gaming Right, I understand what you're saying, although I'm not sure camera angle makes a jump happen in that context. Also my suspicion regarding why they removed jump is that they ran out of controller buttons (they added the grappling hook and companion controls on the shoulder buttons, so crouch got moved to the default jump button, a face button). That being said, it seems like tapping crouch in high profile could still easily function as a jump input. Kind of the whole point of having high/low profile is to provide two separate actions per input.
