Hey Magnus can you start doing makeup tutorials. Thanks.
Id love to see that
"I like to use I nice rich magnesium chalk and just apply generously in patches on the face and in the hair"
As someone who loves makeup and climbing I'd be into this lmao
As an exmormon I really love this comment hahaha
Stick your head in the chalk bag. Job done. Freaks out the cops.
Let me know if you want me to make more tutorials and if so of what?
I really enjoy the tutorials and it will grow your channel immensely, I hope you upload the occasional tutorial and hope it works out for you!
You could break down training for each type of hold or a particular style of route! I’d love to see that!
One thing id love more info on, not necessarily a video on its own tho. I am pretty heavy due to weight lifting and I get really tired fast while climbing and the guys at the climbing gym said its mostly because I stay too far away from the wall. I dont know if you have any tips for that or does it just come after climbing more.
oppvarming- og mobilitetsøvelser!
What about some stuff for absolute beginners? I'm one of your new followers who just came from Juji and Tom's videos, and I'm going to go to a bouldering gym for the first time ever next week. Never even thought about climbing before, but this looks like so much fun.
Great content as always Magnus! Here's a list of all the gym workouts in the video:
1- Bench Pull
2- Landmine Oblique Twist
3- Finger Curls
4- Wrist Curls
5- Plate Pinch
6- Reaching Pull Ups
7- Weighted Dips
8- Bicep Curls
9- Front Lever
10- Leg Raises
how does this not have more likes??
thanks

Lol thank you
#1 Bench Pull 3:20. 8 reps

Magnus is the smartest man I know
Hahah
bruh, don't you know yourself?
Nordic IQ. Is that racist? 😅
when do you visit magnus in norway??
Ttttooooommmmmmmmmm! What up bud. Tell juji i said hi
I think Magnus single handedly tripled the worldwide climbing community with the Juji colab LOL
there's dozens of us. DOZENS
I definetely came here from juji
yea ninja warrior video. I started working out an am going climbing once school is over

I agree
I understand that your channel is mainly about climbing but it will be interesting if once in a while you introduce Norway. Culture, places, people or any interesting things in your country.
While I agree that would be cool, I can't help but feel I should plug Simon's channel (the guy who films some of Magnus' videos now). Simon Braeck makes travel videos, many of which are about Norway. His work makes Norway look amazing.
Here's a very Norway-centric video:

YES!
Lol, chances are he'll just go to different climbing walls
HERE HERE! Or is it Hear hear??
Agree
So, how often do I have to watch this video until I get better?
About 10 times and you should start to see some improvements
Okay, I'll stick with 8 times...to prevent over training!
@@magmidt do you train legs at all?
@@ratas258 Do I even care?
@@ratas258 ok, pun master!
My buddy and I were just chatting about how we want to start adjusting out lifts to compliment climbing. Even tho you are substantially stronger than us I love that these exercises are pretty basic for more intermediate climbers! So thank you!!!
Alex A most gyms have wide grip attachments for cable machines. That has improved my finger strength substantially
Alex A
basic works, consistency *really* works
@@leelanau7271wide grip attachments? What do you do - wide grip lat pull downs?
Magnus: so you guys obviously know how to do pull ups, weighted pull ups, muscle ups, and all that.
Me: 😐
TheExPieRow not necessarily can, but anyone who’s in the fitness communities know the moves and that they’re beneficial to climbing
glad im not alone
When I saw him doing those muscle up so easily...I felt bad but motivated, since I'm working on my first slow muscle ups.

Magnus, you are a real renaissance man. Climbing, filming, editing, trying new things (and doing them disgustingly well), and bringing us all along for the ride. Thank you.
As a relatively new climber it was extremely useful to hear you explain the climb as if you were explaining it to a friend. It helped me get a better idea of how to hold a "map" of the moves for a boulder/route in my head. Thank you!
Second exercise is called the landmine twist , barbell Russian twist, barbell oblique twist or landmine 180.
M C also really easy to throw out your back so really control the lower and keep the reps well within your control.
Magnus with a barbell in his hands? Instant like!

It’s been 2 years, is anyone else still getting as high as they can?
I'm still stuggling a bit with the escalators in our mall but this video greatly shows me how to prepare for them from home!
Life is one step at a time!
Yessss. I’ve been waiting for this for so long. I go to a climbing gym 1-2 times per week but with a busy schedule I need to be able to train at home as well! Perfect!

Magnus, I really appreciate your videos, I am 34 yr old calisthenics athlete and just got interested in climbing literally 2 days ago. I found your videos and am blown away. Thank you for the effort and the knowledge and keep up the awesome work.
Thank you for posting this Magnus - it is priceless to receive the knowledge that you are imparting.
I've genuinely researched this for the last few days so this came at a perfect time!
I really really enjoyed this video also hilarious editing. Favourite part was probably the very last boulder you "explaining it like you would to a friend" was very interesting
That was a really cool looking problem and he pulled it off perfectly
Yea I really like when he describes the problems and goes into every move, want more!! :)
Mangus, this is exactly what I have been trying to figure out since I found your channel. Thank you for the great video! Keep up the good work. Your videos are really inspiring!
One of your best videos Magnus, loved the commentary!
Went climbing for the first time today because it looks so fun in your videos. Had a really fun time but I'm sore everywhere :D Keep doing what you're doing!
Hey Magnus, just wanted to say the quality of your videos is getting next level! Keep up the great content as always!
Thank you so much for this! This is a real struggle for me right now, and this video is EXACTLY what I needed. Please, keep the tutorials coming, especially "building technique" based ones and "home / gym / on-the-road training", feel free to throw in some "non-climbing lifestyle" as well (diet, routine, other training, rest, etc.) and "gear reviews" are always fun. Last, I'd love to see a "road-trip" series at some point as well. I love the Juji / Tom stuff, and throwing in some "crag climbing" in there as well would be fun. Thanks Magnus; this video was excellent!
I was a pro sportsman, saw tons of strong people. But your strength REALLY IMPRESSES.
Never stop. U r great
I only get to climb once every week or two, this was great! I'm definitely going to try out the reaching pull-ups, those look great!
This video was great, I can't wait to try climbing. I always wanted to and your videos have given me the motivation to just do it! This was so helpful, specially using the band to practice front levers.
Thank you so much, Magnus, for putting it all together and showing the the progression from beginner's version to the hardest and final variation. Very much appreciated. Finger curls have improved my and many of my friends' climbers strengths and quality in several times. "The secret German weapon" really works!
Im happy to see you doing so well on youtube, you are such a wonderful teacher and person :)
This is exactly what I have been needing. You rock Magnus
"Somewhat useful" Really Magnus? This was honestly just incredible. I absolutely love how you make your videos. Incredibly helpful and also fun to watch!
I have been watching since your first visit to juji, uncluding going back to some of your older videos.
I think this is probably my favorite video, especially the very end where you described how you were doing the puzzles. especially the last puzzle where you "explained as you would to one of your friends"
You can bet i will be re-watching the first half at the gym today
Thanks so much for continuing with all of this great content!
Great tutorial! I'm not near a climbing gym but have a hang board and love climbing when I can. Also, your background music is simply beautiful. Thank you!
Get High Stay High...life goals. Great Video! I am scared of heights..but love watching you climb around. Would love to see
you explain and do each wall in that gym.
Hi Magnus!
I love your vlogs, and how informative some of these are. 6 months ago I got back to climbing, but i still haven't figured out good pre climbing warm up/ stretch routine.
It would be awesome to see proper series on:
1. How to properly warm up for climbing.
2. How to properly stretch.
3. How to warm down after climbing.
4. How to get better endurance while bouldering.
5. How to train for climbing without any equipment.
I am pretty sure, I am not the only one who would be interested in this kind of content, there are many people who tried climbing once, without proper warm up and never came back to the gym, as they were aching too much the next day, or just simply injured themselves.
PS. Cant wait for the vid with Bouldering Bobat.
WARMING UP BY MAGNUS? TRAVESTY
Absolutely amazing editing and production quality Magnus!!
Favourite youtuber atm, such good varied content. Your editing style is so chilled too unlike so many crazy paced videos and channels. Thanks
8:28 I knew magnus had balls of steel
Isn't that nuts?
Wow, this is a phenomenal video content and edit wise. Thanks Magnus!
Magnus - love your humble attitude in combination with your amazing physical ability!
This was informative but also well organized and well filmed, as well as something new for you. Thanks for putting it together and for sharing it all! GO MidtBO!
Your editing skills are so on point god damn I usually hate watching training videos from fitness channels as they are boring but I have to watch to improve. However i actually look forward to watching all your videos including the training videos even though i don't climb lol
fantastic video buddy just started climbing and you've been a real inspiration !!!THANKS!
Magnus I dont rockclimb at all, nor am I active, but watching your videos really inspires me to go out and try things like this. I love your videos, great job editing as well
I'm not a climber but I really enjoy your videos, and how you break things down where us non climbers understand, and you also make quality videos.
I feel like a lot of tutorials are either for beginners, or "how to climb this V14" that act more as guides for beta. I feel like I'm in a big group of climbers who would call themselves "intermediate" pushing V6 but kind of in that "stuck" zone where hard V6-V7 seems absolutely impossible and most V5s are too easy.
Could you make a tutorial about pushing through this middle-zone boundary to harder boulders? Some the crimps you hold look so impossibly small I can't imagine pulling hard on them. I just feel like there is something I'm missing or not focusing hard enough on when at the wall to break through.
Thanks and love the channel as always!
(P.S. just to be slightly more specific I think on the wall beta analysis and training certain holds or problems would be great advice to hear about rather than weight training or other exercises)
I'm in a similar spot, but the hold types are reversed. If I face a V6-V7 and it's crimpy, I tend to have an easy time, if it's weird slopers with dodgy feet, especially when combined with some overhang, I'm pretty lost. When it comes to overhangs in general, even hard problems in a roof are cool, but in the 30 to 60° area I seem to struggle a lot more. So on certain "intermediate" problems, I seem to be missing stuff, while on others it's cruise mode.
What my climbing partner used to do what transition to top rope whenever he would plateau. As we go up the grades, it gets harder and harder to transition to higher grades.
There is a great video here on RUclips by David MacLeod - a Scottish climber. He talks about how he injured himself and what he did for training afterwards (and he improved immensely). Check it out!
try to go to a different climbing gym for some time if you can, that helped me :)
This might actually be the time you want to train a little bit more =) not only climbing but have a propre hangboard routine or campus routine will get you through that plateau.. After, it is really boring and way less fun as climbing but 3 month with some good training might just do =)
I am in the same spot as you are
Thanks Magnus, this was really informative. My grip strength is pretty much shot but I think trying some of these might actually help me get it back in better use. Also, just watching you do those weighted dips made my triceps burn.
Never tried rock climbing, but after watching this video I had to rest up for a week I was so sore. Great video! It pushed me to actually start! Thank you.
amazing vid and love the humor spruced in here and there. please make more!
Not sure if anyone has already mentioned this, but the exercise you're doing around the 4:10 mark is called a landmine rotation. There are attachments at the bottom of most multi-role squat racks (racks pull-up handles, guards, etc...) in gyms for this exercise. Cheers!
I think a video dedicated to reading routes and figuring out beta would be cool and super helpful for beginners. keep up the good work!
Absolutely make more tutorials!! You should go over techniques and climbing practices that you think are the most important to know for inexperienced climbers to practice! And go into detail as much as possible. It would be cool to see a multiple video series of something like that!! Keep up the awesome work Magnus!!
Your videos just keep on getting better and better
I like how I never know what he’s talking about but he still makes it entertaining anyway
Ohhh I like that weight pinch for sloppers! I’ve been wondering how to train those, thanks magnus!
Hey Magnus, I just wanted to say that I really like every single one of your Videos. You are a huge motivation to me ^^
Last sunday i have tried climbing for my first time.... i clear a 5a outdoor and i started climbing cause i watched your video man😎👊 thank you Magnus😂
Not many climbing gyms in southern Iceland, trying these soon and defo making a video on how it went! Thanks for the tutorial Magnus!
keep up with the good work Magnus! Im really really happy I stumbled onto you through Juji and Tom
Explosive sub-base! Congratz to 200K!
Wow what a great video! I like how close you are to the actual climbing movements and how you present it in the video! Really great! Thanks :)
He followed through with my request. 💜💜💜💜
This is what I needed thank you so much
Bring back videos like this! I know it’s hard to do things because of COVID-19 and I love your content now!! This is simply a suggestion from a dedicated fan!
Thank you for motivating me to climb Magnus, I went and skinned my hands at my local centre, Awesome Walls in Liverpool for only the second time and enjoyed the hour of doing battle bouldering. Feels great and keep up the inspiring videos team Meatball, much respect.
You are my role model! And I don't even climb. You inspire me in my own sport. Thanks

No disrespect...just a Joke
I think this is a very well done video, with agree a bit of content for folks to start with.
I wouldn't mind seeing more informational and tutorial videos about training. For example, interviewing folks that have researched particular methods to hang board, or who have popular routines, if possible. Also, though you've started you've not injured yourself, a video on how one might train while injured. Though people should always get professional medical advice, sometimes being able to bring an exercise and/or a routine to their doctor so they can determine if the person could use that in their recovery helps, a lot.
I also wouldn't mind seeing more tutorials on sport climbing, like how you might have trained towards that; and, outdoor bouldering (as you've done many videos on outdoor lead).
Great one Magnus ! Good balance between exercices, climbing and show off :D Very usefull and entertaining.
The editing on this video was very professional! Your just getting better and better Magnus!
Hey Magnus, huge fan. You should make tutorials on how to make boulders on chaos walls to suit your level and how to do different types of training on them such as power, endurance and power endurance.
I first started bouldering yesterday! it went ok :)
Watching Magnus over the past months was very inspiring and actually helped with a few techniques as well.
Too bad our hall didn't have any cracks to try though.
My body-weight to strength ratio is off, so here i am to prepare for the next climbing session! :D
Thank you Magnus!
Updates?
You can tell there was soo much effort put into making this video, it deserves way more views
We love you magus! You’ve inspired me to start climbing via your visits to juji and tom. Just landed my first v4 as a 198lbs weight lifter. Totally hooked. Takk!!!
Hi Magnus, the upper forearm muscle can indeed be protagonist as well as antagonist. When the hand is mostly closed, the tendons which are connected to the upper forearm muscle flip over the knuckles and thus the upper forearm muscle switches from anta- to protagonist. So training the upper forearm muscle directly improves the gripping strength. :)
Aah yes, the edgy anti-hero muscle 😎 they were supposed to be antagonist muscles, but fans just love them too much to NOT give them a protagonist spinoff
Loved the "cringy" part 😂
Nice editing
One of the most enjoyable videos of yours that I've seen. And I wasn't looking for tips for training. Very entertaining, very funny.
Keep doing tutorials, i started bouldering just recently and realy like ur explinations on this
Greetings from Germany :D
Loving it magnus♡
That masterful creative editing.
How to properly chalk up your hands tutorial 😊
Best vid I've seen on weight training complimenting climbing! Awesome!
Probably the most helpful video for starters that I’ve seen, thanks Magnus ❤️
As someone that works month on month off on a ship, I have been looking for this video for a long time. Thanks Magnus
One other exercise I find really good is a 1 foot section of broom handle with a hole drilled in the centre with a 1.5m length of rope tied in that hole and a 5kg plate tied at the other end. Hold the handle out in front with your arms parallel and twist away from you to wind the weight all the way up and then untwist it to lower it controlled then roll it towards you on the next rep. Don’t plan on driving a car after this :)

Hey Magnus, I dont really wall climb, but I play badminton as my main sport, and watching your videos really inspired me to train my grip strength by hanging (also pull-ups) on my pull-up bar at home. I've really noticed improvement in my grip strength and general feel when gripping my racket, and it noticeably also improved my power.
Thanks for this, and I really hope you release more videos like this that show how you train your forearms and upper body without actually climbing.
Hope you can do some stretching routines as well in the future, thanks! Keep up the good work!
