You can visit the Mekong River on a day trip from Saigon, but I wanted to spend more time in the Mekong Delta so I stayed two nights in Ben Tre.
You can explore the Mekong River on an organized tour but I wanted to go on my own, so I rented a motorboat for VND 250,000 per hour for three hours, which at the time comes out to about USD 32. We visited a brick factory and a coconut processing plant. We also rode a small canoe to explore the smaller channels of the river.
If you're traveling in a group, then I think renting a motorboat is the better option. You'll have the boat all to yourself and you can explore the Mekong River on your own time. Most people just do day trips from Ho Chi Minh City but if you have the time, then you may want to spend a night or two in Ben Tre.

We also often organise some games to practise speaking English. Plus, walking around the city is one of our frequent activities. Finally, joining is free because it's based on sharing and learning between members of the club. Hopefully, you can join with us some day !!

Yes! I spent a night in Sa Dec after Ben Tre. I stayed in the flower village. Such a lovely place. :)
@@WillFlyforFood-TheTraveleaters great! This is my hometown. The local people is so friendly, come to there you must eat Sa Đec noodles (speacial food like "Hủ tiếu Sa Đéc"). Especially, come to there you can sight flower garden Sa Đec. Have a good trip!
@@vuluan3617 I loved the hu tieu in Sa Dec! I think I had it 3 times in 2 days haha...it was so good. It's now one of my favorite Vietnamese noodle soups. :)
