Foreigner Traveling Bến Tre in Mekong Countryside of Vietnam

- I left Ho Chi Minh City to travel through Bến Tre in the Mekong River countryside of Vietnam. While spending 48 hours in a local village I stayed at a local homestay and met some Vietnamese locals which invited me to party on a river cruise for sunset. Although we both couldn't understand much we still had an amazing authentic experience in Bến Tre!

I very much like it. It's not touristy - just you and the locals. The room in Mekong Delta is surprisingly spacious and comfortable.

Yeah you can get the boat without staying, i just had the hotel manager book it for me. It was some lady he knew that did boat rides

Yeah I had one there but I sold it after I left Bali
You can visit the place in Ben Tre that they make ‘coconut candy’ (keo dua). The candy is quite popular in Ben Tre!
There are fresh coconut and fish to enjoy.
It's sound interesting for Vietnamese but it's really boring.

if you want to visit the floating market, its near Can Tho. That's where you'll want to stay. I would just recommend you book a hotel/airbnb there and the local host can take you out. There are plenty of locals that own boats there that can take you out in the morning.
