got the M3 air with 16gb ram and the 1tb SSD, and i love it so so much. im a student and don't do too much editing so battery life is like super amazing to a point that I charge it once in a few days. Amazing purchase very happy customer
Similar for me except in reverse. Getting the air for note taking and work on the go and keeping the M3 Pro at home for my daily desktop usages including gaming and coding and other tasks that are more beefy
Just bought the same config yesterday on a sort of Craigslist but with 32go ram. Got it for 1400€ and I have seen offers from 1300 to 2000€ for the 32go 1tb version of the 14” M1 Pro. But still thinking that I don’t need all that power and capacity and may sell it for an m1 air
Loved the video, a very creative approach to review a new product with little to no differences at all, such great vibes too! These videos always make we want to go out and about and be productive with my Air M1, though working from home I don't really do it very often.
Another fantastic video Tom, great work! It's been so fun as a viewer to watch your confidence continue to grow and your videos develop their own unique style. I think you really have the talent to do great things. Can't wait to see what's next. Cheers.

Great video Tom! I have loved the M3 Air, I have an M3 Max macbook pro and can tell a bit of a difference but probably not enough of a difference to warrent the massive price difference. Since everything I do is creative work I'm sticking to the pro, but for 99% of peopel I feel like the M3 Air is plenty good enough.
Well i bought an MacBook pro 14" with M3pro (base model, solely upgraded the storage to 1Tb and with Student Discount it cost me like base price) last year in November in space black for studying architecture and it's a hell lot of a beast. Even though I sometimes think about the ram but it was bonkers to upgrade it if I wanted it. I am very happy, coming from an msi 17 gaming laptop which i have shared with my brother. For me it already feels very light , especially comparing with my previous one. But i am glad to hear that the airs perfome quite similar. The only sad thing is if you bump up those beautys they will come to close to pro models which are at this point often the better choice. But yeah an even lighter laptop than the 14 inch MacBook Pro still doesn't come into my mind.
How about the notch when you watch videos in full screen? I know that using the toolbar you can hide it, but in full screen with other apps it is there...
Hello Tom, watching all possible reviews on all possible apple products I really enjoy this kind of content where you take device on your journey and test it in real life. I still have my16 inch MacBook Pro M1 Pro and I feel there is for sure no need for upgrade, especially when I have from work another one with M3 Pro chip... It is so so tempting to have extra tablet or new macbook, but realistically I really don't need any of those... I dream about Macbook Air 13 inch only, to be so light and portable, but I would love to have it with pro-motion and extra port on right side too... for sure I am not buying any with M4 for now - even all reviews are sooo good, but let's see how MBA with M4 will be like...
Man, I just love your videos. I totally agree with your sentiment - the MBA, when configured beyond its base config, is absolutely perfect for people who aren't always creating on their device. The only reason I went with a 16" M1 Pro MBP was the amazing deal I got on an Apple certified refurb unit. It cost me less than a 16/512 13" M2 MBA with all the extra features of the MBP over the MBA. I definitely wish it was a bit thinner & lighter, but overall I'm content with the tradeoff.
Now thanks to the M chips Macbook Airs are really capable machines depending on your workflow, I use a base M2 MacBook Air and compare to my Windows 16gb laptop it is a total game changer when it comes to creative flow. I do mainly light photo editing ( the majority of my work is not digital related) writing and do some design and it works perfectly. I especially love the portability of this machine.
My M1 M2020 MacBook Air's screen was just broken. It is almost two and a half years old, so what should I do now? Should I trade in my old MacBook for a new one or change my screen? Your opinions, as a professional working primarily on office apps for creating educational content &!reading books
I’m choosing between MBA m3 15 16/512 for 1450 (250 savings) or MBP m3 pro 15 16/512 for 1599 (400 savings). Any advice? I’m used to 15 inch bec of old MBP 15 inch. 14 inch keyboard feels cramped. Oh, I will transfer 220gb onto internal of new laptop bec I want quick access to my date.
I found some really good offers on the m2 MacBook air, so i’m really considering purchasing it. I’m wondering how much of a difference is the new one to the old one is, so any insight on that would be appreciated.
Very little difference unless you're in the market for a lot of AI use, which the M3 is tuned for. Otherwise the difference is small compared to M2, so go for it!
I love my silver M3 MacBook Air, in 13 inch. I am a general user, and aspirational Xcode hobbyist. I splurged and went for 24/1000 and I specifically switched from a 16 inch M1 pro MacBook Pro to the 13 inch M3 Air for travel.
I won't lie - it'll likely be ok but 256GB is low, I know it wouldn't suit me but I edit a lot of video. Maybe look at how much storage you're currently using and see if it'll be enough.
I love how all the creators and consumers in the tech world are openly complaining about the 256-8 starting config and outrageous update costs. I'm really glad, and I hope the waves we're making becomes large enough until Apple can't ignore it any more.
I m getting the MBP 14" 16GB Ram and 512GB with M3 (not M3 Pro) in my country for lets say around 1800 euros, when the MBAir 15" M3 same specs comes at 2130 euros.... why would you suggest choose the MBP 14" over the Air 15" if they have same specs? for screen or? I know the PRO is heavier though.... and has a fan which can make noise...
Pro for constant creative or graphical work where you know you'll be pushing it, the fan will help here if it does turn on (which seems rare for me tbh!). Air for more standard computing work with some creative things thrown in on the side, or you know you just want a more portable machine
I’m honestly waiting for the 32gb ram version of m4 air, the chip’s capability is more than enough but I’m need more ram than 16 on the air and I don’t want to pay the MB pro price tag
Coming up to 3.5 years on my MB Pro 13 M1 base model and it still flies with great battery life. I am a light user, basically what the Air and Pro 13 were aimed for (base M1 chip rather than M1 Pro, Max or Ultra), so I can attest to the fact that saving £400 with the base over 16GB/512Gb is not a sacrifice. I would only upgrade to the M3 MB Air for the larger 15-inch display and that is tempting. The base model on Amazon is already over £100 off so £1189, which is exceptional value for what you get. Those complaining about its base config; I ask them what is the difference between Apple selling just a MB Air at £1500 with 512GB/16GB or what they currently do, a MB Air 512GB/16Gb at £1500 but the option of lower configs for those that can afford it? Obviously, those complaining about the lower spec models are missing the point and Apple offering a cheaper entry point is good, not bad. FYI, nearly every premium Windows ultrabook OEM offers 8GB starter options which rarely get mentioned when creators claim they are not happey with 8GB base. They all do it for the same reason, so people that cannot afford £1500 have a chance at a premium laptop at a lower cost.
In my country, Iraq, the MacBook Air M3 is available in a base model (8/256) version. I want to buy it, but my use will be to learn programs in Xcode and the Swift programming language (as a beginner and beyond the beginner stages). Your opinion matters to me if 8 RAM is enough to use without stress and opening many windows. I am really confused and I fear that I will face problems with performance or slowness. Sometimes I think about getting a MacBook Pro M3, which also comes with (8/512) 😞 , and I say maybe it is better thanks to the fan. (I'm not interested in m2 processors)
