I’m considering upgrading from my Windows laptop to a MacBook Air M2 for learning new skills from online platform & RUclips, and some office minimal Excel work. I noticed the MacBook Air M3 is only about 12,000-16,000 INR more expensive in the UAE. Would you recommend the M2 or the M3 for these tasks? And how’s the transition from Windows to macOS for someone who’s used Windows for years? Also, I’m concerned about storage for long-term use-does macOS updates consume significant space over time, and will 8/256GB be enough for the next few years?
Hey there. It all depends on your budget. Can you get by on 8GB 256. Yes, but I wouldn't recommend it if you're planning to use it for years to come. If you do want to stick to the base config, go for the M3, because it does not have the memory swap issue the M2 has at base config. There's a bit of a learning curve switching platforms, but MacOS is much simpler than windows, so it should be easy for you after the initial getting used to. It's like switching from android to iPhone. Things are just all a bit simpler.
That was an excellent video. The US could gain insights into Europe’s airports, hotels, and restaurants, which are renowned for their cleanliness. I imagine attending such an event would have been a fantastic experience. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.

Not sure why the M3 Air can’t handle your 4K editing workflow? Can you explain? Is it just the speed rendering difference? I know lots of people that edit 4K perfectly fine on an M3 Air.
I may buy the upcoming M4-based Mini. The two M1 Minis I already have are SO good, though... BTW...mahalo for recommending that iPadOS18 Beta installation. My 8th-gen gobbled it right up no problem, and I CREATE more and more reasons to use the calculator this machine should have always had! Aloha!

While I live across the globe from you we share the same car, same watch, same main computer MBP (for me 16" M2 Max and 13 MBA M2), iPad Pro (large though) but you are more jacked haha. We even have the same taste in luggage (carryon). I do have the etag Rimowa version for my checkin. What do you use? Anyway, trip looks fun as always thanks for sharing.

Its pretty slick though because you can also change the screen with a picture and add your info via app from your phone. This is my use case now as not a lot of the airlines have etag integration to be useful. I got mine back in 2018 so some time now. I remember my first use, the airline dented both of them (metal version). Ironically I have a bunch of Samsonite hard cases which I use mainly for travel because of the very same reason. They are abused and I use duck tape to label (I, II, III.. and so on) as they are all the. same. TBH, Now I use samsonite mainly for travel (checkin) but carry on still use my rimowa. My record for travel is between my gf and I are 10 checkin luggages and 2 carryon.

I use LOG footage, multicam clips, and usually quite a few plugins. It's just beachball bonanza.

Haha nice! Would you recommend the etag? For my checked mags I've always just used Samsonite since they get thrown around so badly.
