- This is an interview conducted by David Dye for 'World Cafe' for the promotion of Bish Bosch. The program was broadcast from the USA and Scott seemed to be in the studio with the interviewer. I think this makes it interesting.

Scott has a reputation for being awkward in interviews but he really doesn't seem anything other than open and polite in all the ones I've seen and heard
Beautiful man beautiful voice ❤️ RIP Scott 💔 So lovely to hear you talking 😢👏
Scott has the most amazing speaking voice. I just don’t know how he manages to be perfect to listen to. I don’t have the words to describe him, I’m really going to have to listen to his speaking words more. How wonderful it would have been just to sit and have a conversation with Scott to understand him. Love u Scott no one comes close Arlene xxxxxx 🥰
I could just melt into his singing, his voice is part sensual, melancholy, and oh so very very engaging and very articulate.
He is a pioneer and a gifted artist. Walker has made some of the most interesting and great music around today.
I doubt we'll ever hear the golden baritone again. The man's a genius though!
I used to intern for WXPN and the World Cafe, and this interview was actually done long-distance via ISDN with Scott in a studio in London, if I recall. Still super cool though.
Stunningly amazing guy x
Hearing him describe Zercon is amazing. Honestly we’re used to great artists maintaining a silence around their work (think Cormac McCarthy or Jandek), but it’s so wonderful how generous Scott was in talking about his ideas. And with such enthusiasm
Thanx for the posting and the interview Scott! You sound great as ever! Same golden 60's voice.
I dont understand his albums since 'tilt' but still love him
Wish we heard what was meant to be next. Farewell, Captain.
For how difficult his work can sound, he isn't at all pretentious. Just goes to show that people can make extraordinary art without being so aloof and self-absorbed.
I always feel somehow unsatisfied at the end of Scott Walker interviews. It's not that he is rude or dismissive, it's just that I feel as though we're seeing a man in a mask. I don't think it's necessarily a loss either - if I want to feel closer to Scott I just listen to his music, which is the way it should be.
humorous how he can speak so seriously about such a psychotic product
Of the past HALF century, man.
he was here in Philadelphia and i missed it. not even far from my house.😒
He had some vocal training, he said so in previous interview on RUclips. One of the Tilt interviews. Apparently the training was spasmodic. With such a great natural voice, the little bit of help would have made the difference.

Lets hope scott and sunn o))) do some shows!
Danny Cheesums Have they done live shows together ?
nah...maybe one day,
THAT would really be great !
Interesting that he does not listen to his work once it is completed. As challenging for him as it is for us.
Zercon
Strange that he says he is not a trained singer. Everything i have ever read about him mentions his vocal coach, the great Freddy Winstone
Can't seem to find any history/info on this Winstone?
I read that he took a few lessons from Winstone, but that these were erratic and spaced out widely in time, and thus he never underwent a rigorous or sustained vocal training...
romeosyne Yes I heard that too. He had a few lessons in breath control but was too busy and traveled too much at the time to receive the sort of prolonged training opera singers receive.
nite flights is a spectacular song...other than that, most of his work is complete madness
Not before then. I.e. most of his output.
What's next - farting in the bath.
From you,? Probably
He could have become an educated musician, instead he hit the bottle. Wasted talent.
Perhaps. Then again, we got the records we got and I’m very happy with Scott’s contribution to music... notably the latter period stuff. It’s been important to my personal development as an artist.
