Spidey is getting Bastion and Sebastion Shaw confused. Its reasonable since they both have the same first name. Sebastion shaw is the Logan lookalike that hangs out with Emma Frost.
Yeah and Shaw died in Genosha
It's Sebastian Shaw, Sebastian with an A ;)
A classic Normies video, they think they know, but they don't
Why does Mickey have to be here
It’s part of their charm 😂😂 they wouldn’t be “normies” otherwise
11:28 Nightcrawler is Rogue's brother
8:54 actually no spidey, she originally was just a strong telepath she later developed diamond skin as a secondary mutation at the battle of genoshia
genocide*
Hes probably referring to her in the comics after she develops this power
Sébastien died on Genosha.
This new guy is BASTION. A completely different character.
Logan is popular, and that dude, but he really wasn't main character on the team like he was in the movies. All he really had was a lot of guest appearances like Spider-man and the longest running solo X-men series.
10:12 Brazilians speak Portuguese, not Spanish
as a brazillian, that frustrated me a lot, but well, americans...
Não faz nem sentido ele errar, tem momentos que aparece na legenda "Brazilian Portuguese" kkk
@ foi só estupidez americana mesmo
Of course. But this is Suraj; not exactly the brightest of the Normies... He legit thinks that Lost, one of the shittiest, worst-written TV shows of all time, is a masterpiece.
@@quwykxzI don’t think he’s not smart lol. Besides he’s still their boss. Accolades. 😂but he do have some peculiar taste when compared to masses. Opinions so ehh but I thought it was a running joke. Does he really like the entirety of lost. 😅I never saw it just heard it’s good and bad from people. Surj thought one of my fav series hxh after completing it was an okay 8 which normally your like cool but for a juggernaut you expect more not the gentlemen’s score ign 7/10 or 8. lol. But as you said he likes lost his taste are or I though were pretty tuff. He usually has comments on improvements each show can have and I assumed he likes fast pacing and character stories over action and magic systems so hxh was uphill battle somewhat and it seems lost was perfect since he likes mystery boxes. He’s harsh like micky. Does micky like lost too? Who on couch liked it and didn’t. I can’t watch their reaction incase I watch the series one day. 😅
Sebastian Shaw and Bastion are two different characters. Shaw was on Genosha during the attack, I don’t know if he survived.
We saw his body among the dead, next to Dazzler.
He should’ve lol they always make his powers so inconsistent
@@stancinatti8198In the '92 show he was nowhere near as powerful as in the movie
@@FrowningCattHe was literally beating multiple X-Men in season 3 before Jean turn on the inner circle. He was definitely not weak.
I'm glad that Chris picked up on Cap telling Rouge exactly what she needed to know. His hands were tied but hers weren't.
Sebastian Shaw and Bastion are not the same person at all. Shaw was with Emma in Genosha.
"I can make earthquakes", It's a throwaway line by Chris, but this is simultaneously an argument for 'maybe the humans are right to be scared' and 'Magneto has always shown incredible restraint'. If mutants actually wanted to enact random acts of destruction instead of Magneto kicking whoever cheesed him off lately, it would be a bloodbath.
Putting aside the sheer number of reality manipulators (somewhere between four and seven depending on how you judge it) you have mutants that can: cause natural disasters (Storm, Avalanche, Rictor, Magma, Dust, Magneto), cause large, spontaneous explosions/telekinetic damage (Gambit, Boom-Boom, Havoc, Fever Pitch, Exodus, Jean Grey, Justice, Rachel Summers, Hellion), and mutants that can cause spontaneous riots (Wallflower and like...I want to say a dozen telepaths.) And again, all but like...two of the reality shapers are some combination of insane and evil.
One of the storylines I wished they'd address is how awfully lucky/trusting everyone is that the guy capable of mass mind control/rewriting memories is the 'good' guy and the 'bad guy' has to convince people through nothing but words, strength of personality (and you know, being proven right.) Part of the reasoning behind his helmet HAS to be that otherwise Magneto would never know if Xavier is genuinely convincing him or...making him think he's being convinced. I won't go into details for spoilers, but in the comic version of an arc this season, Magneto explicitly says that Charles only breaks his restrictions on non-violence and ethical telepathy when dealing with other mutants in general and Magneto in particular. (Which to my mind, is a far more interesting ethical/moral quandary than every time writers try to make Xavier into a ruthless manipulator using children as cannon-fodder.)
Exactly
And as we see magneto literally turns the world upside down

You are absolutely, 100% right in everything you''ve typed here.
I just wanted to add a few more examples:
Kitty Pryde could phase the entire planet into almost weightlessness, and then just make it float into the sun.
Iceman can turn the Earth and everything/almost everyone on it into a ball of ice, anytime he wants to, within a second, and without much effort.
Dazzler can blind almost everyone on Earth. Not all at once, but in swaths of thousands at a time.
Lila Cheney, Magick, maybe Gateway, and I think one or possibly two more characters who I can't remember right now, can instantly teleport the planet and/or its inhabitants, either together or separately, to another dimension, or even to Hell.
Sunfire can burn thosusands of acres, even the soil, in minutes.
Quicksilver can run through just about everyone on Earth (like A-Train ran through Robin, on The Boys) in under an hour.
And I was sad that you didn't include Jubilee on your spontaneous explosions list...
99% of people SEVERELY underestimate her or think she's a joke, but COME ON!... I mean, she can create an explosion powerful enough to tear the whole Earth to pieces in a single shot, and everyone on Earth 616 should be thanking her every day that she CHOOSES to "just" make "fireworks"... Please give Jubes the credit and respect she deserves, everyone!
A few podcasts (Immortal X of Words for example) made the point that Emma took the time to re-apply the lipstick before being carried out. The most On Point Emma characterization ever.
Also, when she drops him, they have a world class telekinetic and a teleporter just standing there watching him fall. A very Wonka-esque "No, stop, don't." moment if there ever was one.
Logan spoke nothing but truth when he said she did what they all wanted to. 😅
1:54 Suraj stfu! 😂
Cyclops had a psychic affair with Emma in the comics. They changed it to be with Madelyne here
They were also fully together for like 5+ years
He was married to Madelyn in the comics for years and during that time, they teased that he would cheat with the resurrected Jean Grey. Then he left Madelyn and got with Jean and they teased an affair with Psylocke for a few years. He later hooked up with Emma after Jean died but it was revealed that we was cheating on Jean with Emma for a while.
The latest status quo is that Jean, Scott and Logan were in a throuple and Emma partook for a while but then left and married Tony Stark. It started as a sham marriage but then they really fell in love.
@@BaithNalmao, marvel squashed that disgusting “throuple” as quickly as it was formed. No one enjoyed that ish. Exactly why comics are dying.

Rogue is iconic, I'm looking forward to seeing her in the MCU
15:39 neutralize doesn't mean dead. It means they're no longer a combatant in the field.
Not Spanish, Suraj, it's Brazilian Portuguese
Bastion and Sebastian Shaw are two different people Sebastian ran the hellfire club
It's sad that Gambit and Rogue couldn't be together in this show hopefully next season
You’re getting Sebastian Shaw and Bastion mixed up. Similar names haha
It’s funny how many people make the mistake though, considering we see both characters in this show two episodes apart and they look NOTHING alike…
Rogue went rogue in this episode.
Very original
The people that Bastion is talking to on the tv monitors are Dr Doom, Baron Zemo, and Madame Hydra.
Wrong episode!
Sabastion Shaw lead the Hellfire Club and he was already shown eariler as a member of the Genoshia council.
X gon grieve it to ya is some nasty work 😂
We've already seen hellfire club Sebastian in this show. He was in genosha at the meeting remember. This bastion is a whole new problem
One of my favorite things about these reactions is watching the usually chill Spidey get to flex all of his X-Men knowledge on everyone else. It must be so fun getting to the most knowledgeable reactor on the couch.
But he still is getting stuff wrong. He doesn't really know what he's talking sbout
I doubt he read a single comic book
Not remotely surprising but still disappointing to see the president fucking them over, when they literally saved his ass in the first season from having his brain end up in a trash can and become a Sentinel puppet. A politician through and through.
Beast was on point talking to the reporter.
Exactly
Roberto is from Brazil, so the song in his mother house was in Brazilian Portuguese
ahh right mr. captain "my hands are tied" america, he would've turned into u.s agent w/the quickness in this universe if he wanted
This is why they should have watch the original xmen series before in reference to Sebastian. 😂 Bastion
Bastion isn't the one who runs the Hellfire Club, but they do have a name similarity: you're thinking of Sebastian Shaw, who was the guy who was with Emma Frost during the party and got killed. Bastion is something else, the show does explain it
Awesome cameo of Captain America.
Voiced by THE Spectacular Spider-Man, Josh Keaton, no less!
0:26 Yes!! I suggested Chrishop way back on the 1st reaction 😂
BBBD
No one noticed how yall brought up Jean jacket and then the song from Nope plays like twice this episode
Morph is voiced by the guy that voices Joker in Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League, and Cyclops is vocied by the guy that voices the Pelican extraction pilot in Helldivers 2!
3:30 they really need to watch the original xmen episode where it explains where rogue got her super strength and flight abilities because thats something she does not poccess in the live action because a certain even has never happened in the live action movies
The way I understand it is X-Men 97 has permission to use anyone from the Fox cartoons form the 90's. So The folks that showed up in X-Men (Cap was in one ep), Spider Man (so Doc Strange and Daredevil mainly), The Iron Man and Fantastic Four cartoons and the Hulk one. Maybe that horrible Avengers cartoon where they all had "armoring up" sequences but the less said about that the better.
“Yes it is”
No it’s not, he literally told you. Diamond body is a retcon from 2001.

@@quwykxz sure kiddo
Do you know what a retcon even is? It wasn't a retcon. She developed the powers spontaneously in response to trauma. It's a story element. That's like saying Rogue dropping Trask was a retcon.
11:55 Look back in Lifedeath pt 1. You'll see Bastion with his face covered in a photo with Forge.
the city madripoor they went to is an key location in marvel especially for villains they went there in falcon and the winter soldier show also. mcu starting to throw out seeds
Chris Evan's Captain would've helped
Sebastian Shaw ran hellsfire club. Bastian is a different person
Also, and maybe this should be a #sundayrundown comment for discussion purposes, but there's something fascinating about how Cap is written in X-men comics versus his own. In X-men he's generally a authority apologist strawman who drops lines about protecting the image of America abroad and typically THE outside hero telling mutants to do things the 'right way' after recent tragedies. In his own comics, he's 'it's never a bad time to punch a fascist', willing to drop his mantle to do what's right and generally in a constant battle over moral consequences and responsibility with the government.
Didnt Cable also had a son in the future that helped him fight Apocalipse? I remember they introduced him in one of the episodes of the original show.
He was adopted not biological but yes he did, Tyler.

You guys probably don't know, but in the orignal show, both spiderman and black panther made an appearence (not voiced) while Captain America was in an entire episode in Wolverine's backstory
Bastion and Sabastion Shaw are completely different characters
And yet both named Sebastian.
One has “tion” in the name, the other has “tian” in his…
Cable can’t change what happens in Genosha. Certain events are fixed in time and can’t be changed so it has to happen. Sebastian Shaw was in Genosha and Bastion is new for the animated show. Bastion is definitely from the comics.
Captain america's already been in the series.. Even gotta full episode
Magneto is what would happen if batman had powers
Bastion has light-purple skin, that´s why the "purple people eater" song
As part of the X-Men in the comic books, Wolverine mostly always plays an amazing supporting character. Of course it's Wolverine so he gets his time in the spotlight but he aint the main character of the X-Men the movies tried to convince you he is. Characters like Cyclops and Storm fit that role much better. But Wolverine gives a perspective to the X-Men that you desperately need and that made him so awesome, especially in the original Chris Claremont run.
I love how everybody is pogging for this show
Friggen subtitles with the spoilers! lol
10:20 its Brazilian music guys... hi from Brazillll
Admit it; does *anyone* either in the setting or the real world feel bad when Gyrich is murdered? In the comics, he’s so detestable even Steve Rogers has no tolerance for dealing with his crap… Granted, nor will I argue that Trask is that much better; he lacks the smarminess and conceit, but it took things going this far for his conscience to overcome his paranoia.
I definitely feel how much Nightcrawler was needed for the cast to not give in to despair; having him become an X-Men proper right as we lost Gambit was exactly what we required here.
Bastion isn’t Sebastian Shaw!
Spidey just randomly yelling “PETTY!” when she throws Cap’s shield to the mountains got me lol
It's funny because it's true! 😁
The way ya'll be constantly saying the wrong stuff with so much confidence, lmaooo. Please read them comics that be on table.
Bruh the dude who created the hellfire club already died in the episode gambit died in
rogue stole miss marvel's power not captain marvel, seems the same, but they're almost two different characters. Rogue stole all of carol's memories and powers leaving carol as a tabula rasa, and then creating a whole new character
Mutant stories for me are always between really great. Or kinda silly and stupid. Cause when something bad happens to the Mutants. It doesn't have to be like genosha. Just some awful tragedy. It's like ''SEE!!!!. This is why we should massacre humans'' but bro they keep on causing disasters damaging and hurting however many people every other day. I find it super hard not to sympathize with humans and completely understand why they'd hate Mutants. Cause a portion of them wanna end humanity. And some might hurt or even kill you by accident even if they didn't want to. And them fighting amongst each other throws you in the crossfire. And they always have a threat of power that they can use if things don't go their way. So whenever a Mutant story tries to get me to have a dislike for humans in the story. It never works because of these things that always come to mind when I think of the prospective of normal people for even a slight second. The Mutants as an allegory for minority communities is kinda of a weird decision in general in my opinion. Cause framing it like people from minority groups could have the power to cause disasters and endangering everyone around them is a pretty problematic thing.
9:28 no, hes got a point.

This is where the fun begins!!!! 🙏🏽💪
My only critique with the show and just x men comics in general is how they portrayed Captain America because his true character would be literally go against the government if he knows they’re doing something wrong
Regarding the Hellfire Club, the leader of the Inner Circle was Sebastian Shaw, which is the character who was portrayed by Kevin Bacon. The Inner Circle members were often referred to by chess piece names, and Sebastian was often called the Black King.
Won’t lie. Kinda making me cringe hearing you confidently say bastion and Shaw are the same person.
It’s annoying that not alot of X-men get blatant second mutations and it’s hardly ever talked about
Exactly
does second mutation mean a mutation that occured some time after the first one? cuz a lot of mutants have more than one manifestation of their mutation
@@eugeniamarch some have it from the start like Scott having a strong neck to support his eye beams but yes most of the time it’s after probably from something traumatic
The xmen movie rogue was younger and had her original powers which is absorbing other powers and energy of others. Her super strength and flying came from holding a certain superhero for too long and taking some of her powers. If we going to criticize the movies we should call out the costume , wolverine height , and how they did jubilee. Rogue was treated better than jubilee .
uhh movie rogue was lame as hell still.
@eugeniamarch wolverine , magneto, and professor x. are the only people those movie made look good all the time.
17:42 The Hellfire Club in Stranger Things is a reference to the X-Men comics as the Hellfire Club was introduced in the 1980s in the same storyline that featured Jean Grey as the Phoenix/Dark Phoenix (X-Men was referenced as early as the first episode of the first season considering Eleven's telekinetic powers being similar to Jean Grey)
And both the show Stranger Things and the X-Men comics use of Hellfire Club is also a reference to real-life secret societies from the 18th-century composed of England's blue-blooded upper class who liked to engage in "immoral" acts.
In fact, in the X-Men comics, the modern Hellfire Club is supposed to be the successor to the original 18th-century Hellfire Club.

Roberto's mum is a red-headed pale lady, something this show seems to want to ignore
That's not Sebastian Shaw.
For me, Bacon was about as wrong of a casting as Sookie Rogue. They changed his look and accents in the movie. (They showed him at the Genosha party in '97.) He usually looks very old school British, and is way more yoked, serious, and threatening. He's also very business cut throat. In the movie they really took it a very different direction, and story. I was like wtf when Kevin Bacon with a fake German accent was executing young Magneto's mom.. Dunno if there's canon of this, but from what I know, that seemed very made up for the movie. I know lots of people loved it, but I think First Class is one of the worst ones; I get taken out of the movie SO much.
Emma Frost was SO lame too.
The only First Class era movie I could really love was Days of Future Past, which is my personal favorite, followed by X2. The rest all felt lesser than the OG Fox movies; and even those changed a lot, and were limited for their time. I find First Class SO corny, almost fan made.
Love J Law, but that Mystique looked like a bad Halloween costume. They just shoulda made a suit, instead of a half day of body paint that makes a person sick.
Magneto and Charles WERE AMAZING tho. But their thing gets old. So many other stories they could tell. We still haven't even had Shi'ar.
The films basically composites Shaw with Dr. Nathaniel Essex himself, with a smattering of the Mengele by making him a German scientist in WWII so that he’d have history with Erik… It’s a solid villain but very distinct from the comics’ version.
Cable can’t change what happens in Genosha. Certain events are fixed in time and can’t be changed so it has to happen. Sebastian Shaw was in Genosha and Bastion is new for the animated show. Bastion is definitely from the comics.
