Very good video on making quality tape darts .. duck tape cones can be to heavy, these cones would be very light and waterproof -very important. Good video on making a high quality tape dart ! I assume you used CA glue on the inside for the skewer to add some more structural strength to the cone ? Just watched your video again, Without a doubt, out of all the hundreds of videos on making blowgun darts yours is in the top 3 or 4 in quality of cone and precision of manufacture. A few others make primitive cones and/or tape cones of other designs that are good, but your precision of manufacture is second to none. You are one of the very few who are concerned with cone weight, and that is a very important factor with a blowgun ..... you want the dart to be fast to the target ... a blowgun does not have knockdown power as you only have ~5-8 lbs of pressure in your lungs. Bamboo Skewers make great dart shafts as they are light and can be made very sharp. I mostly use flag wire that is about .060 diameter and about 30grs for a 5 inch section. Again, very good video !
Awesome that you use blowguns! It was my use of blowguns with clay balls for bird hunting in the 90s that started my use of clay balls for hunting with a slingshot. Those are some nice cone darts far more durable than the ones I used made from paper & tape. You ever make dart stoppers from cork? They work really well.
Would that plumb bob work if I was making darts out from plastic bottles
How long are the bamboo skewers you use? Very effective
Can you use colored packing tape?
