Hi man, there is a battery test on RUclips amongst the iPads. So, actually iPad mini did great as compared to iPad Air. Therefore, I would like to genuinely suggest you to go for iPad mini 6 as chipset like others is the same but battery is good in it.
i think the iPad Air/iPad pro 11 is a more ideal iPad for students. I’m a student myself and I can tell you that the iPad 11 inch it’s definitely a perfect size for me in terms of writing on it. The multitask I would say it’s a tiny bit cramped but overall I think that the 11inch is balance, size not too big not too small . I went to the apple store that day and the mini is just too small for me. But who knows it might be the perfect size for you. Best thing to do is to go to the apple store and feel it yourself 📲
I feel like the iPad Mini is perfect for high school students If you don’t want to give your kid a phone (my parents didn’t), an iPad Mini is an amazing all-in-one device, for a single-installment purchase with a fairly inexpensive price as smart devices go. I loved my iPad Mini 2 at that time, had a phone number on it through an app that gave like 5 free phone calls a day and unlimited texting (Google Voice didn’t exist), I could contact anyone same as a phone so long as I was on wifi, which I almost always was. And it was also an incredible device for entertainment and decent for schoolwork. But today? I’ve got an iPhone XR, an iPad Air (2022), and fond memories of my old iPad Mini which had my favorite onscreen keyboard ever. That onscreen keyboard is not a good enough reason to spend $400 on an iPad Mini, every other thing I do is just as good or better on a 6-inch slab or an 11-inch slab than it would be on an 8-inch slab. The iPad Mini is the compromise, it’s the “good enough at everything” device if you can only pick one, it can be used as a phone (albeit a green bubble) but it’s not optimized for being a phone, and it’s not optimized for being a tablet either. Only thing it really has going for it if you’ve already got a real phone is that it’s more comfortable to hold and possible to pocket compared to a bigger iPad, but - if I’m drawing I want a bigger screen - if I’m consuming content I want a bigger screen - if I’m doing basically anything where I’m not needing to type extensively on the onscreen keyboard I want a bigger screen - if I’m taking notes or writing a paper I want a magnetic keyboard And that’s, about 95% of what I do with my iPad. Once in a while I’ll play a game on it, and most games don’t work comfortably with touch controls on a screen this big, so I suppose I’d probably get better gaming out of an iPad Mini than I would out of my XR or my Air. But if I’m at home I’d rather, play an *actual* game on my PC or my Switch instead of the latest money-grubbing scam that sucks unless you spend $500.
I have the 11 inch pro M1, but find Kindles best for reading. So I’m considering the mini as a kindle replacement. It may or may not be useful with MarginNote, for serious study but think I will still prefer it to a Kindle. Great to see Herodotus and CS Lewis are still in the university just as they were when I encountered them in the early 60s!
@@Ryukomytoy More power to them if they can afford it, I guess, but if I was looking to buy a tablet for reading, I would get the one actually optimized for reading and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. 😂
@@MsVamPireChic I'm also considering getting a kindle but I've read that they're not that good when it comes to academic reading (pdf's) therefore an iPad might be what I'm looking for idk

Ive got my first iPad (Air 1st gen) 3.5 years ago and it happened to break due to the largest size. So I decided to buy my first MacBook this year which will be the MacBook Air m3 and also the iPad mini 6th. Love the size and all I can do with it compared to the iPad 10th which is not that good
Nice presentation. The size of the mini makes it very attractive replacement for my Pro, which is large heavy but has good screen real estate. My Pro has taken abuse in my over cramped bag, thus why I want to make a move. I mostly use my Pro for Notability, movies and internet, but I still do not know if the mini would be a good replacement or practical for notetaking especially for multi-taking. Thoughts anyone?
I actually just recently traded in my 12.9 iPad Pro for the iPad mini 6, and I absolutely love it! I'm also a college student who uses the exact same apps/for the exact same purposes, and I've been loving it so far. The device is definitely much smaller, but taking notes hasnt been much of a change. I will say that you definitely have less space to write, meaning you likely would have to scroll around a bit more frequently, but the zoom-in feature on Notability (and other note-taking apps) with automatic scrolling makes that less noticeable and doesn't hinder much anyways. Multitasking may be a bit weird to get used to, but in landscape mode it should be fine. Overall the switch has been really great and I actually find myself using this iPad much more than I did with my pro, simply because it's so much more accessible and portable.
The device is good but for multitasking if u wanna strain your eyes only then go for it because multitasking is extremely crapped and your hand always moves off of the device, also i noticed that the real estate isnt for a heavy note taker
@@CandyCaramel00 This was so helpful. I have the 12.9 inch and I find it so bulky. It's heavy for reading PDFs and honestly I feel like the big screen hurts my eyes a bit more (that might just be me). It's good to hear that there are those who "downgraded" to the mini and are happy.
Is the screen too small for students ? For example for making e notes and attending zoom calls (just the basic student, not talking about those who do editing etc)
The screen is definitely small if you are going to have 2 windows in multitasking mode. It's like using 2 small phones, better option would be to go for the standard 9th gen iPad. With accessories and everything it's a greater deal. And the bigger display makes it better for note-taking, online classes etc. The non-laminated display is not really a huge deal breaker. Will you notice the air gap? Yes. But does it distract you? No. It's a digital tablet. After some time you will get used to the feel. The display quality is very good. The only downside maybe the lack of stereo speakers in iPad 9, but it does have a headphone port. So you can address that. But for an emergency of course you can make do with the downward firing speakers absolutely fine. For students the iPad 9 is a good deal considering the costs of accessories and everything else even storage. The iPad mini is nice, but as you'll learn from a lot of other users it's a specialised tablet. The people who need it know for what exactly they'll use it. For students the larger screen will be extremely beneficial
I saw you have the Keys to Go. That is - in my opinion - the best possible option. You say "the keyboard isn't convenient". That is a heavy statement. Honestly - I love keeping the extremely thin and light Keys2Go in my backpack - it's like it is not even there. But when you do want to type longer things, then just whip it out, and off you go.
I'm typing on the keys2Go atm - it takes a bit of practise to get fast on it as you almost need a different technique (use less motion, and kind of feel the tiny movement of the keys), but it's an absolutely fantastic travel keyboard as you can literally put it in a backpack and forget it is there, it is so thin and light.
Because it pairs easily with Bluetooth keyboard and a mouse, that’s all I need; I’ve never gotten comfortable with Trackpads as I exclusively use a mouse for just about everything, the ePencils are for me are “just a nice εχtrα” and I’ll use a generic brand {though I did buy the 1st gen Apple Pencil for my iPad Pro}. Thanks again for your thorough review but I’m still not sure if the iPad M1 Air wouldn’t be more suitable for me.
I’m just wanting the iPad mini to stream shows, take notes for Work/School & sketch a whole bunch on Procreate. For those tasks, would the 64GB be fine if I have 2TB of iCloud?
Hello! I use the iPad mini 6 with 256GB for work, school, ibisPaint, planning and games! 64GB would be sufficient if you don’t play games on it, so the iPad mini 6 would be great for you :D
i will be getting the ipad mini as a student. I am a nursing student and work in a nursing home besides collage, so i need to study on the go and a laptop is a little big to study with on the bus all the time or just so take a quick note on. So for me it would be a on the go study device. I love my macbook air but i just need something smaller on the go. Inspecally since i swich between busses all the time to get to work or school. Like think of this situation, I get out of class with my macbook in my bag, go to buss nmb 1 and need to pick it out, fould it up, log in and then i can read or search for what ever i need but after 6 min i need to pack it back in to my backpack and get to the next buss where the same dilemma starts again. I need 2 min out of those 6 just to unfold and defold a laptop wehre when i had a ipad mini i could just pick it out of the bag and get started reading or looking up the fact i need to know. So in lectures and at home i use my macbook air but on the go i use my ipad mini. I think it would be a perfect combination.

Nice video! But one thing - you said you can't put it in any pockets in the summer. Mine fits in my jeans back-pocket easily. I'm 6'2'" and have a medium waist...
and what's your solution for not losing your pencil when all day you are using and changing storage places such as backpack, jacket pocket, classroom, etc.?
It's too small. Definitely get the larger Air or Pro 11 inch. Those are great allrounders that you will not feel limited for most uses. The mini will have many situations where you wished you had a larger screen.
I’m thinking to buy the IPad mini as my main note taking device for university with my MacBook to display any sort of documents but I still hesitate to get the IPad Air instead . I just love the small form factor but I don’t know if the screen will be big enough for note taking (in pair with a laptop but taking note on the iPad). Which iPad do you think I should choose?
@@qoasdykas1051 - if you want to help make the screen feel more like paper, there are screen protector sheets you can buy that mimic the feel of papers. I know people who like to create art on iPads and that’s how they combat that weird screen feeling when writing.
I like to do split screen for ebooks and notability. I have an iPad 8 gen and can’t decide if I should go iPad Air 4 or mini 😫 I think a small iPad wouldn’t be big enough for my multitasking.
I would highly suggest getting a bigger screen. I have the iPad mini 6 and I love it, but I find it really hard to split screen and multitask on it. I bought it for a different reasons, so it doesn’t matter all that much to me. However, for your purposes, I would get the iPad Air 4.

From half of the B-roll material it is obvious that the font is far too small to read without heavily squinting. It seems to have some major scaling issues in the OS?
will have hard debate if i have a son going to university now. I think that if battery life is not major concern, then the Surface Pro is probably best choice for just school and stuff. Back in my time, i really jealous of mac users able to login to unix natively though. But i suspect modern windows solved that? No idea. I think the surface plus a 11 inch ipad pro would be perfect together. If i just want mac, mmm... probably don't want to carry the laptop around. But the ipad size is a big debate. 12.9 is heavy and battery life not perfect. But it is most versatile and comfortable for watching stuff. 11 inch is lighter and seems to have longest battery life. But limited to do multi window viewing. Ipad mini is fun, but no keyboard and battery life is worst. I traded in my mini 5. Got it after my 12.9. Loved it but used it least and when really try to use it, there is not enough ram. I always fantasized reading on it when i see them sold at bookstores.
I can just encourage you to try it out. I thought the same first, but it became I daily driver very quickly. My M1 12.9“ iPad Pro just collects dust now.

i think the iPad Air/iPad pro 11 is a more ideal iPad for students.
@@leegene1682 thankyouuu for this suggestion
Your review is really good. Better than others, points they did not make. Thank you. Really persuaded me in favor of this model.
*That bug* 🕷 on the top of the iPad at 1:31 really made my laugh hahaha
I love your iPad’s reviews!!!😍
I feel like the iPad Mini is perfect for high school students
If you don’t want to give your kid a phone (my parents didn’t), an iPad Mini is an amazing all-in-one device, for a single-installment purchase with a fairly inexpensive price as smart devices go.
Only thing it really has going for it if you’ve already got a real phone is that it’s more comfortable to hold and possible to pocket compared to a bigger iPad, but
- if I’m drawing I want a bigger screen
- if I’m consuming content I want a bigger screen
- if I’m doing basically anything where I’m not needing to type extensively on the onscreen keyboard I want a bigger screen
- if I’m taking notes or writing a paper I want a magnetic keyboard
And that’s, about 95% of what I do with my iPad.
You’re reviews are spot on. Thanks for this!
Thank you!!
Well done! Welcome back.
I actually baught the iPad mini 6 last week and so far it’s amazing! Great vid!
Why not just get an actual Kindle then?
@@MsVamPireChic We love consuming.
@@mylegocustoms3443 I've used a Kindle a fair bit and would agree that a tablet would be better as a PDF reader.
It is true that the ipad mini is very helpful device for taking note. I have an i pad mini 5th genration, i used for almost 2 years and I take it where i go, classes, lab and even my agenda are there🤗
It seem cool ipad mini 6
I have to choose between the iPad Air (used the have the first gen. iPad Air years ago) and the iPad mini 6th gen, as a replacement for our ipad mini 2nd gen. I think I would love the bigger screen when I am working on it f.ex. in split mode (but i don't know how often I would even use it to work on it as I usually use my macbook pro 2019 for work) but I love how small and LIGHT the ipad mini is. A very very hard decision... For now love the ipad Mini 2! Use it for reading in bed in the evening (love how light it is), for watching Netflix, Apple+ oder Disney+ in the train when I am out to my way to work and the kids use it for school and to play apps. Thank you for your great video and all the information about the mini!
which one did u go with?
I got the pink version, it’s so worth it.
When we most needed him, he came back 💪

Definitely thinking about getting this cause I’m starting back school in the spring 😌
Trust me, the Ipad mini is very small and hard to use
@@williamt6102 better buy 3 ipads,

For making serious notes I use my ipad air 4 during college houurs
For media consumptions, video editing and content creation, photoshop I use my ipad pro..
SOUNDS a bit costly but still worth it
I had the mini 5 but I didn’t use it like I thought I would. But I traded it in for this and I can’t put it down, I’m using is a lot more than my pro 🤷♀️
Nice to know you have hundred of $$ to waste on iPads lol

Finally I’ve missed your videos!!!!!
Ive got my first iPad (Air 1st gen) 3.5 years ago and it happened to break due to the largest size. So I decided to buy my first MacBook this year which will be the MacBook Air m3 and also the iPad mini 6th. Love the size and all I can do with it compared to the iPad 10th which is not that good
The fact you have a shelf all apple products boxes 🤯🤯
They add up over time.
I have a wall of all looking box of apple kobo Sony and the likes, it does look like a puzzle ahah
💸💸💸💸💸 “where does all your money go?” XD
I’m sad he did not link the case in the description I really liked it :(
Nice presentation.
Exact Same Situation here!
@@thescriptingshow1950 went with the Air, would not go back. I kept the Pro, but use the Air 99% of the time.
It's a bit small if it's your only device. I think it works best in conjunction with a laptop or desktop computer
Hey Harris, internet here... Great to see this video and the OTR video too! 💚
Thanks Joey!
Wish Apple would make ipad with plastic, carbon type chassis at reduced weight with no camera at a lower price for readers.
Because it pairs easily with Bluetooth keyboard and a mouse, that’s all I need;
I’ve never gotten comfortable with Trackpads as I exclusively use a mouse for
just about everything, the ePencils are for me are “just a nice εχtrα” and I’ll use
a generic brand {though I did buy the 1st gen Apple Pencil for my iPad Pro}.
Thanks again for your thorough review but I’m still not sure if the iPad M1 Air
wouldn’t be more suitable for me.
Glowing as always. Love the hair and those eyes. And great video as every one before
Ótimo conteúdo!! Estou pensando em trocar o iPad que tenho por ele e este vídeo me ajudou. Já me inscrevi também depois de ver o livro do C S Lewis🤗

I’m just wanting the iPad mini to stream shows, take notes for Work/School & sketch a whole bunch on Procreate. For those tasks, would the 64GB be fine if I have 2TB of iCloud?
Was your question answered by any means? I am wondering the same thing. Let me know, please!

In watching on iPad mini 6
Just for your information, the apple pencils price is ₹11,900 while Logitech crayon’s price in ₹13,140 which is more expensive than the Apple Pencil,so just go for the original for better price.

Does anyone think it’s too small for note taking? I prefer the smaller form factor and I don’t wanna use a big iPad just for note taking
It's too small. Definitely get the larger Air or Pro 11 inch. Those are great allrounders that you will not feel limited for most uses. The mini will have many situations where you wished you had a larger screen.
I’ve been taking notes on it with GoodNotes and found it to be perfect.
Nice job, I like the quality of the video
Thank you, appreciate it!

@@klpl1737 Yh I was thinking tht too. Thanks for the help. Good to hear from the prospective of someone that has a mini.

I think a mini for on the go plus a 12.9in for working at home would be perfect for me. But since I don’t have the money for that, I went with the middle ground of 11in pro.😅
I have the same struggle…I’m owning an ipad pro 11inch, but now I realize i value the portability a lot, e.g. to read on the go, which the ipad pro cannot offer. Not sure if i should buy a new ipad mini…
@@makas01217 Now that I’ve had my iPad for a couple of months I’m actually really happy with it and most definitely glad I didn’t get the 12.9 inch… I’m using it on the go and in the lab and cannot imagine carrying around a bigger screen. The 11 inch is quite huge, big enough to read and write anything. I think the portability is still alright, I can hold it in one hand or upside down lying on the sofa, so I think it’s perfect!
I own a 11inch ipad pro and was struggling wheter to buy the mini or the 12.9 ipad pro. I chose the 12.9 at the end and now the 11 inch is my on the go ipad and I am super happy of the 12.9.

will have hard debate if i have a son going to university now. I always fantasized reading on it when i see them sold at bookstores.
the mini would be too small for me tbh. if i had to pick an ipad i would go with the air 5 or the regular ipad
I can just encourage you to try it out. I thought the same first, but it became I daily driver very quickly. My M1 12.9“ iPad Pro just collects dust now.
