I’m just coming off a two month rotation of strings in my new 2023 Babolat Pure Aero+ and after about 10-15 different poly set ups (hybrid and full bed) at lower tensions I must say I am really enjoying the winner of that “string tournament” - A RESTRING ZERO / SYNC HYBRID. I have the ZERO in the mains at 32 lbs for maximum topspin and the SYNC in the crosses at 34 lbs for control and to temper the liveliness of the Zero mains. I think the result is the best characteristics of both strings in the proper amounts. Further, I think that it’s a good match with the Pure Aero in this configuration. I might’ve switched the strings in the opposite configurations if I was playing with an 18 x 20 racket or a more control oriented frame. I’d be very curious to see what your thoughts are over at Tennisnerd if you string this hybrid up at low tensions to reduce the stiffness and increase the ball pocketing and let me know what you think.
@@Tennisnerd I would love to see what you think of this set-up in your Pure Aero if you string it up. I thought the low tension opened up the RESTRING hybrid set-up and improved the pocketing and feel and of course nice spin from the ZERO and nice Control and feel from the SYNC. Seemed like the whole was greater than the sum of its parts when you blend the two at low tension. Much like ALU Power, the SYNC seemed to shine under 35 lbs.
I have been having very good luck with many of the strings I’ve mentioned at low tensions under 40 pounds. I would certainly say that if you have elbow problems, try stringing something up around 35 pounds and see how it plays. You may be pleasantly surprised.
Could we have a genuine tension test. All I want to know is once strung how long a poly lasts before it’s dead. Alu power for me as a twice a week player was dead after 4 weeks in both my first racquet with 6 hours played and my 2nd racquet with 0 hours on it.
Hey Jonas, great channel; measured Sync 1.25 it is actually thicker 1.30. Measured with micrometer. Any experience with this, and how does it then compare to Alu Power as a result?
@@Tennisnerd Jonas, I'm pretty sure it's all about physics and geometry. For round strings, as mains slide over the crosses, the area of contact between them increases steadily, friction increases and eventually the main string almost clamps into the cross string. The snapback disappears, but this still gives us a low launch angle and control even with low stringbed stiffness. For shaped strings, the contact area between mains & crosses does not increase so much due to wear, so after a few hours of play we end up with a high launch angle and low stiffness => rocket launcher
A couple of things: 1. The fact that it's taken 30 years for a company to come up with a realistic alternative to ALU is a pretty impressive feat in itself 2. There should be a new category of string, called the "influencer" string. There are so many of these small companies promising the world of better everything and getting pushed heavily on social media, but when you hear of the actual realistic reviews on the ground (non-influencer tennis players), the reviews of these strings are very much the opposite. 3. I applaud Jonas for actually giving a decent review, rather than shitting on the other string for comparison, just because it was expensive or to get some clicks.
If you dont like the vcore i would recommand you stringing the crosses with more then the mains thats also how most players on the Pro Tour string the vcore
I can’t take any of these RUclipsr reviews seriously when they have an affiliate/ambassador link in the description. What is he going to say, he hates it?
Don't watch then. I am always honest about what I feel. The miniscule commissions you get will not make you change your whole brand idea. I did not like Zero as much as this one, for example.
@@Tennisnerd I enjoy your channel and this isn’t just targeted at you as all you guys are doing it. Simply feel it is a conflict of interest to review a product that at the same time you are endorsing and have any financial interest in no matter how small. Just giving my opinion.
All these polys are just a big fraud. Just play with syngut. They are way better suited for amateur tennis players. And it will cost you 80 percent less.
Syngut is rubbish. Its for little kids or old people. Last time i used syngut i was 12 years old and it would only last 1 set befroe breaking. This happend maybe 5 racquets before i upgraded to a poly hybrid
Hmm, no. I played with synthetic guts before, and I hated having to straighten them out after every point. With poly strings, I don't need to do that at all.
The Zero on the mains and the Sync on the crosses at 52…my favorite by far 🤤

is it similar to MSV bussard?
Im also curious about this.
Yes, this is quite similar to Bussard. Both very good strings!
do you have any idea how long this string can stay in the package? does it have an expiration date?
How would you compare it to Toroline Wasabi-X? Have you tried a Restring Zero/Wasabi-X hybrid as comparison?
On their website they are only shipping to US and Canda 😢. Too bad, wanted to give it a shot.
Where are you located?
@@tenvault4015 Europe, The Netherlands
There's a distributor in Portugal. You can find him on ReString website
Thanks for the comment Konstantinos
@tennisnerd how would this compare to some of the grapplesnake selection? Tour sniper?
Just wondering, did you get fraying with the sync. Strangely mine got a little bit of it.
wow what a great review. Does this string feel similar to the Technifibre Razor Code?
How would you compare to Tour M8?
Tour M8 plays a bit softer to me, with a bit better comfort, but I get better control and tension maintenance from Sync.
@@Tennisnerd Interesting, thanks for the reply. I am going to try Tour M8 1st but next I’ll try Sync.
Tour M8 is one of the very best in a full bed IMO. An awesome string.
@@markmoore5981 I have elbow issues currently so I am going to hybrid it. It will be in the mains at 47 and a multi at 49 in the cross in a 18x20 bed.

How does it compare to Hawk Power?
how does this compare to Hyper G Round in stiffness?

I measured it myself with calipers after seeing this comment but couldn’t replicate your experience…
What do you like so much about round strings? I always gravitate towards shaped strings
I like shaped strings too, but somehow round strings often feel a bit better to me and play more consistently over time.

@@Tennisnerd i switched from the 2021 version and wasnt happy with the new one but with that change i really enjoy the 2023 version
How would you compare it to Head Hawk Power?
A little firmer, holds tension better.
Also curious how it compares to Bussard
The Sync had better tension maintenance perhaps, but playability was very similar. Both good strings
No more lead tape on the pure storm?
Got too heavy.
@@Tennisnerd is there a good replacement for the PST? I can't seem to find something similar atm
How to buy in Europe?
All ReString distributors can be found on the website. The Portugese distributor is 100% legit, he has shipped to Greece to some friends of mine.
Sync isn’t anything like Alu power lol.. poly tour strike, bussard etc are closer. Even Heads prototype V1 they recently play tested
MSV BUSSARD IS BETTER
I'll make sure I try Bussard late Spring - early Summer.
Now we just need them to deliver outside North America :)
Look in Restring website, ‘about’ section, that’s how I bought it in Europe (I live in Sweden)
There are some distributors in Europe, UK and Portugal to be exact.
Guys, I don't think he replies questions in the comments😢
I do when I have time! 🎾🤓 Sat eve release for a video is maybe something I won’t repeat
nice packaging
