    This interview was synergy at its finest. Both were genuine, earnest. Their respect for one another was palpable, especially for Ryan. Promoting his book and coaching was secondary-a distant second. He countered every question with his own. The interview is as fluid as they come.

    It's kinda hard to have respect for cheats and junkies, no matter how popular they.
    I know everybody makes mistakes, we are all human, and so on, it is understandable.
    But in terms of being THE BEST, it is unacceptable.
    For me the best cyclist and the best runner is somewhere out there, the honest, hard working dude who NEVER ever used cheats to win himself into champion status.
    If the others were honest, this dude would win, who knows maybe not, but we will never know thanks to Lance and his like.

    3:20 When cycling a bike, you never fully extend your hamstrings, so for an ex-pro cyclist, that's taken to the extreme; the hamstrings are basically a shortened, neglected, weak spot, because they're never fully flexed...until you go running, and then there's problems. I'm not a physiotherapist, but the obvious solution is an extensive hamstring stretching binge.

    Lance vegans live on rice, pasta, sugar, fruit, oats etc. How CANT you ride big km on a vegan diet if it is based on carbs???? xD
    I did 6545km in a month on a vegan high carb diet. Easy as. Muscle glycogen is king!

    • @huntingsynth
      @huntingsynth 5 лет назад +3

      Harley...I'm guessing here but based on the banter I think he would say to do a grand tour you have to actually start with energy/muscle stores which means ultimately heavy as the physical stress of racing will just deplete your body dramatically by week 2...so if you are pushing low protein/fat and high carb while still training 500-700 miles a week working up to the tour you will be lean /strong as fuck but your body will disintegrate by week 2...for those of us not doing pro grand tours this is probably not a concern...just a guess...love your stuff and Lance...cheers mate

      @@huntingsynth So there is this thing called iron which is notoriously difficult to get on a vegetarian diet of any kind .Iron is an essential mineral found in every cell of the body. Its main role is to transport oxygen in the blood to the tissues. Iron ensures that our muscles are working properly. It also helps the body convert carbohydrates into energy during exercise. You can get some from lentils etc but meat, poultry , liver etc are by far the most abundant sources.

    • @agilesamus
      @agilesamus 5 лет назад

    • @fireblade2681
      @fireblade2681 5 лет назад

      It's natural to have low T after running a marathon. If he hasn't already taken steroids his body is more of less at the limit of how much muscle it is possible to build. He plans to get bigger than he is which tells me he's either juicing now or he will realise he's hit his natural limit, give up, accept his limit or start juicing. It's not possible to look like the rock without the juice. When these freaks claim they're clean it makes me laugh. The rock's skull is literally twice the size that it used to be. How many Bulgarian squats do you need to do to make your skull grow?

    • @fireblade2681
      @fireblade2681 4 года назад

      @Ken F how many bulgarian squats do you have to do to make your skull grow? how many push ups do you have to do to make your voice an octave deeper? how many dead lifts do you have to do to make your skin blush red at resting heart pace? If you think the rock is clean I've got a river to sell you.

    Lance, I've been wondering.....after watching so many videos on the runners from Kenya.....and the fact that the high altitude causes them to have adaptive responses to that (higher red blood cell count, etc).....and recently on Beastmaster, I watched some Chinese athletes use a high altitude mask while training. My question is: shouldn't you have just used a high altitude mask.....or had your training sessions in high altitude areas? Apparently no one can fault you for that.

      Actually, the muscle mass slowed him WAY down. He struggled to run his last few recreational marathons at 165-170 pounds in 3:30-4:30 hours. He said in this interview that 8-minute miles are very hard now. I gained 85 pounds of muscle and my fastest mile now at 100% effort is 9:59. I used to run 4:40 at 135 pounds.
