Hashtags have always been a hard to understand area for me. I have tried so many ways to make them work, followed so many different advices, just like yours. On one post they just blow up on the next one I don't get any reach! It feels like luck and my hard work makes no difference...
Thanks for the video, Johny! I've been following you for a while and your journey in gaining traction and audience has been both a helpful source and an inspiration for me. But lately I am sorting to find out that it's hard for people from non-English speaking regions to bring global value. What I mean is the following my initial followers audience were Bulgarians (speaking language mostly spoke ONLY in my native coutnry) and when I try to post non related to Bulgaria or even my local area I get zero attention from them. In the same time the audience in Bulgaria is pretty small and I need to reach people globally and I find it harder and harder to stay relevant in both fields.
Thanks Jonny, lots of awesome insight. Since I’ve been watching your vids I pay a lot more attention to my hashtags and don’t just copy/paste the same ones into every post. On recent posts I can sometimes hit 50% views from hashtags which I can see is getting me new followers. For a while I was almost exclusively posting in stories.. but this does very little to get followers so I’ve been now posting more as posts.
Can you please show on how to grow an istagram business account per say a real estate company or sales training company ig account... i feel like every example is of photography and its kinda relatively easy to grow that kind of account since every tend to like those kind of accounts... which using photography account as example doesn't really end up working for us that are trying to grow other accounts that i could say are a bit boring..
What if I want mix my neiche as an upcoming photographer with a few personality content like photos of myself and family or friends and events, how can I balance that kind of a algorithm
I manage 3 accounts and honestly it depends on the account. And the set of hashtags I use for one account doesn’t work well for the other account. They are in similar niches too so it’s a bit confusing tbh
This is a fantastic video! I make a lot of content that is about how creators grow through their business(es) as well - pumped to see others making stuff in the same space :)
Hi Jonney tnx for this video I'm a photographer but I don't have like specific niche I enjoy photography in general & spend most of my time editing & post an educationl editing tutorials yet I don't get the insight that I needed although I use related hashtags 😅 I do have another issue with my story viewers I've been reviewing by bots accounts for a while it's very annoying couldn't get rid of them some youtubers said the only way to get rid of these random bots is to deactivate my account temporarily for one day do you think it's good idea !🤔
I don't see how that would work, but it won't harm you to try it. It sounds to me like you've not standard IG problems, I wouldn't let it stress you out too much!
really cool video. ive got in 2021 so muss less likes on my posts then in 2020. Sometimes a post gets viral and the next day the post barly hits the 100 likes.
Hi Jonny! Thanks for that great video. That´s actually what i needed :) I´m a toy photographer with a simmilar reach that you got on your cabbins account. However I got one question: I really can´t think of anything how toy photography could be "useful" for anyone. Maybe it´s enjoyable to see the toys become alive... But I´m not sure how my content would be useful for anyone as said. The holiday inspiration you got going on is pretty clever. Ngl :D I would appreciate if you could lead me in the right direction or give some tips on how to make my content more useful. :) Thanks!
I presume within toy photography you can tap into fan cultures, vintage toys, educating people about those toys like release date, rarity etc. When I say 'useful' that could also be 'interesting or entertaining'. Hopefully that helps, I don't know much about that type of photography.
I guess, talking about locations, good times to be a certain locations (sunset, sunrise, rush hour, street lighting), you could talk about the places you're photographing outside of photography eg. a cool coffee shop, food place. You could ask the person you've photographed for a quote and add that to your caption. I hope that helps. Like the comment above, useful/interesting/entertaining all are important.
Thank you for helping us ♡ I'm trying to grow my Instagram, which is all about books, hehe. I put a lot of effort in my pictures (my cat helps me out a lot :P) but I really have a hard time reaching 3K followers for some reason :)
I understand this from an Ig marketing perspective but with this you introduce another maybe bigger business problem: you need to produce a style which is the opposite from unique, you won't be the photographer who can ask for a special premium price because there are thousands other who can do 1:1 the same style and might be much cheaper. And yes going for an unique photostyle is totally against the IG algorithm. I know a lot of photographers doing a shitload of money in the world outside IG, even in the art market and their IG is laughable tiny, their style just don't work.
There are nearly 8 billion people on the planet, being similar to 0.00001% of them is still being unique. No one should ever feel they need to create anything that they don't want to. The rest is pure navigation.
@@ItsJonnyKeeley 100% true but my gripe with IG in Photography is that it drives us away from creating something like a truly unique style in photography. This might be exclusive the case for certain genres of professional photography like fashion and advertising. The Stuff which works really well in people photography on IG is more tacky /kitschy/corny/amateurish which is not really asked by agencies and clients ... unless you do b2c, wedding stuff.
Your saying the same things everybody sais. We know all this and, you didn’t mention the new update where Instagram said to only post 3 to 5 hashtags to your description area.
Ok, so you're saying I should have included an announcement the happened many days after shooting and editing this video? I would love to but my time machine is out of fuel and we have a shortage here in the UK.
@@ItsJonnyKeeley I'm just playing. Personally I think humans are the reason behind environments being destroyed not geotagging. That's just an excuse for us to continue to be destructive

I feel you, I am a street photographer and I can't really think how can I be useful to anyone.

I get 80 views with 7 followers
Who cares what randos on the net think.
Why do YOU give advices to somebody? You only have 12k follower, doesn’t seem to work to begin with? Otherwise you would have 120k follower isn’t it?
