Yes. Bought one last week on sale. Black dial /leather strap version. They've made a different bracelet with a traditional clasp for the "Prestige" version - the watch plus 2 leather Longines straps, - which adds £400 to the cost !! It's a stunning watch. Simple in design where less does mean more.
Longines got my attention a few months ago and I agree with you on this watch. The purity and the precision of it are beautiful. When I saw the lume pips, I thought "well, they blew it on the lume', even though i loved the pips and their perfect alignment with the pip on the made-in-heaven second hand. Brilliant. But when you turned off the lights for the lume shot, I exclaimed out loud "Oh man!" and was delighted with their lumed numbers. Thank you for this presentation.
In my eyes, this is the second best Longines out there right behind your blue Big Eye! Their Legend Diver is also a stunner. Great review as always, Rob!
Tried this on at the weekend. Was very impressed with it. I just thought that the lug to lug was a little bit on the long side for me. Shame, as I really like everything else. The polished arris edges on the case are a lovely touch.
Beautiful watch. I only have one Swiss-made mechanical movement -- the Sellita SW200-1 (ETA 2824 clone) -- and I notice that manually winding the watch requires considerably more torque than my NH35s. I actually thought something was wrong, but I looked it up & found this seems to be normal. It may indeed be normal for that movement, but I don't like it! When the power reserve is depleted, manual winding _should_ be fairly effortless (as you found it to be on this watch). Anyway, it's recommended to minimize manual winding on SW200/ETA2824 due to what is arguably a flaw in the design: the crown wheel is too small relative to the ratchet wheel, and its teeth can be damaged / sheared off due to vigorous manual winding over time, and of course those loose metal fragments can cause havoc in the movement. If you wind the watch only until it starts to run, then set it & let the automatic works do its thing, you're probably fine.
I am a huge fan of Longines but the proportions of this watch misses the mark for me. Lugs are much too long. The BigEye is much nicer. OMO of course. Do love the brand, in part because my Dad owned a Longines dress watch which is one of my favorite designs.
Note about the handset…on this silver version they’re sandblasted. This watch is absolutely incredible. The only issue for me is Swatch UK being one of the worst companies to ever exist!
The date destroys the beauty of the dial, as usual. And the closed case back, highly undesirable. Fix those 2 significant issues and it would be a real home run !
Beautiful watch, but that date window is a massive eyesore to me. I hate it when they remove a big numeral marker for a tiny, lazy date window like that. It looks like someone just tore the 3 off the dial and punched a hole in it. Yuck.
@@spikefcast1892 that's the funny thing, and both brands are since 1800 but thats not the point here, this model looks like a Seiko, I wont mention the model, you should know that...:)
@@Lion_ofJudah yes the first spirit design was 1930…. The seiko one you’re thinking was decades after. The pb is watch industry is a whole copy industry, and the first copying industry is the Swiss one among themselves. Concerning dial design seiko is maybe one or the most innovating for sure for quite lot of the last decades 👍
100% agreed beautifully done watch. Only thing missing is fold over clasp
The prestige edition has one

A frame around the date window would have been a nice feature.

I bought the blue version for my father-in-law. I was really tempted to get one for myself. It’s that good
I have the Longines Hydroconquest and it is well worth what I paid for it. Longines makes great watches. Thanks for the review of the Spirit.
I agree longines has some fantastic offerings.
That seconds hand is so satisfying!
Agree Longines have some good quality watches at reasonable prices, I would also add Baume and Mercia.
It is nice to see Longines has improved their lume - This is a really nice looking watch.

Lucky for you they've come out with a 37mm version!

My Longines Master Collection has the same movement and I completely understand the winding comment. I can’t even tell if it’s winding or not.
Really nice! I do feel like the date window is way close to the center of the dial. It looks kinda funny and it kinda ruins the dial for me.
Is this a silver dial?
The lugs are way too long though. Spoils the watch for me, as does the lug width
Great review 👏

My only gripe with longines are the length of their lugs like a lot of other people!
This is my dream watch, but I'd be afraid to wear it out....
I prefer dates at the 3 position but prefer a bordered date

Very cool

💟
I'd like to see polished hands here.
The date position on this is horrendous
First thing i noticed! I hate the position
Pretty standard 🤷♂️
@@redletterl78 how is it standard? Its way towards the center of the dial… standard is closest to the edge of the dial
If only the bracelet had female end links.
No micro adjustments at the clasp, and the little interruptions, I'm out.
nice review. boring watch.
A swiss watch company that homages Seiko, nice to see this :)
Lol Longines is one of the oldest brand….was here way before seiko. And What look like a seiko here…

??? Seiko is Longines' bitch.
Overpriced.
