    PV + EV combo is a no brainer for Malaysia. Your typical commute is well within the range of any EV and you're not polluting the air while stuck in jams. You do need more L3 charging for inter-state travel.

    Thanks for sharing... I also installed solar panel+ Lgchem battery pack+ tesla 22kw wallbox at my house... And you know what?.. my electricity bill is minus- because of energy transfer back to national grid when not using it... It is so convenient... Government incentive on wall box seems to pay off... Not only can run your house but everyone house as well

    Unfortunately, the housing grid & sub-stations in Malaysia is not designed to supply 22kW of electricity per household. Just imagine if 20% of the households served by the same sub-station draws 22kW at night, you can expect power tripping every single day

    • @hadzrayarchitecture

    • @Ben21756
      @Ben21756 3 месяца назад

      22kW is not necessary, you can live fine with even 2kW provided that you charge overnight, this setup is enough to cover a daily mileage of 100km, which is above the average daily commute distance for most people. And if there is ever a demand for high speed AC charging in the future, electrical providers can upgrade the infrastructure anyways.

    • @nazimwahid5208
      @nazimwahid5208 Год назад

      I suggest that you get a dual glass bifacial solar panel 400-500w N-type or TopCon Mono Half-Cut Perc 182mm 16BB 108 Cells that the module efficiency-m(%) is >22.0% (it only cost +-RM500-600 ea.) this solar panel is most expensive in terms of cash flow because normally a grade-B panel which is a Monofacial panel (that only absorbs sunlight on 1 surface rather than bifacial; absorbs sunlight on both sides.
      A grade-B Monofacial panels cost around RM450-500 it generates lesser than Topcon cells by only 330w output generated out of a 450w panels for instance.
      The difference will be noticeable from a power system of 12.5kWh once it generates 25-30% more it will be increased to 16.25kWh
      Setup : put the solar panel on ground fix or flat roof placement that is 3ft above the ground and 3 inch gap side by side this will increase the output efficiency by 25% , say a 450w panels you will get 480-530w depending on the forecast; solar panel placement syncing with sun orientation whereas the energy-heat conversion loss factor is applied.
      A solar-generated power system sized of 12.5kWh like Mr. Farhan would be adequate it depends on how much you're really willing to put money on to invest.

      disclaimer*: the numbers , value amounting calculated is only a rough estimation but it won't get far off.

    Solar panel payback period is short only when your electric consumption is very high. For normal to low consumption, it could take 10-15 or more years.

    • @ernielok2008
      @ernielok2008 6 месяцев назад

      If you size your solar system to your usage, it should have a similar payback period.

  • @wongcw08
    @wongcw08 Год назад +3

    13:19 Correction. Under NEM, you don't make money because TNB doesn't buy our generated power. They use it to offset our consumption.
    The grid is simply acting as a battery that stores the power to no more than 12 months. Beyond that, the power is lost.

    • @NetMaestro2009
      @NetMaestro2009 Год назад +1

      If you mean what is the difference between 1-phase and 3-phase (not 2), it is the two different type of electrical supply wiring methods available. For low electrical consumption homes (like single storey terrace house), 1-phase is sufficient. But if you have a bungalow and multiple aircons, EV chargers etc etc, better to have 3-phase wiring so the electrical supply capacity is more (and safer). You can upgrade a 1-phase installation to a 3-phase one with application to TNB (in Malaysia) and a qualified electrician to do the wiring and upgrading of DB (distribution board) and a whole bunch of other stuff that needs to be done.

      Look at in totality i.e. you are using greener energy. However, like someone else said in the comments elsewhere, there are still some negative environment impacts associated with EV (use of rare earth elements involving destructive and polluting mining methods) battery, disposal/recycling when end-of-life etc. Hydrogen cell technology is touted as the better option but its still some ways to go before being ready for prime-time.

    Everyone EV EV EV does anyone speak the truth? Initial buying the car already not cheap. Yes can save a bit of money if compared to petrol, How about the replacement of the battery COST? why every one review EV car afraid to mention. Don't hide the fact and tell the truth. After 1 or 2 year the battery will degrade and did not hold the charge like new battery so the mileage will reduce too, the additional frequent charging also cost extra money. I am hybrid car user and i know the pain.

    Sorry to say... Trying to save the earth by using EVs is BS. I understand the science behind making an EV, ICE car, and solar panel.
    But I do like the torque from an EV, cheaper mileage and the overall package of a Tesla.
