No matter what fans say [ And I am a fan of the original line up ] These guys are still rocking in old age with all credit to them. And I doubt they need the money.
Yes, he IS retaining his timbre and range well into his 60s. Amazing. If it weren't for Paul's surgery, he probably would have retained all that power and range from his most powerful vocal glory days of the mid-80s to mid-90s.
Paul had a lot of vocal issues. Gene had less problems as he lived a much better lifestyle, plus a less dangerous singing style. Paul would sound even worse without his vocal surgery. Its not a problem as Paul does not need to prove anything, look at his voice from the early 90s, his peak. At least Gene still sounds great.
The band does a lot that's unique to the Kruise experience. One thing I haven't seen recorded as much are the song introductions. I think the introduction would be a great opportunity for KISS to tell about the writing, recording, and choice of song. I wouldn't want negativity - like "he didn't really play on this record" - just some neat trivia, e.g. "All the big sellers at the time were obsessed with the devil, so we put "hell" in the title lest we be perceived as anything less than sinister." (That's a fabricated example for illustration only, fanboys; it's neither factual nor an invitation to argue.) I wish I could afford one of their Kruises!
I was in my 30s when KISS first came out, so I'm an old man now (ha ha). I was a fan of them all throughout the 70s but haven't kept up with them at all since then. I'm not too well versed with computers or this whole internet thing and I recently discovered RUclips and boy oh boy am I glad that I did! I have been watching KISS videos non stop, I didn't even know they were still together!!! I am surprised they are still together! Ace looks great for his age (not so much Gene ha ha) and it does my heart good that they are still all a tight band. Never heard the second song they played, I guess it was after I stopped keeping up with them but it was awesome. But man oh man is Ace great, he was always my absolute favorite member.
@Andy Don I just fell into the family life. Got married, raised children, started my career. I didnt pay attention to music or what was going on in the music world for many years. . Anyway if that isnt Ace then why is that fella dressed in Ace makeup and costume
ONE OF THE BEST SONGS THEY HAVE BROUGHT BACK FOR THOSE OF US THAT HAVE EVERY ALBUM. ITS GREAT TO HEAR THIS SONG LIVE. GENE KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK WITH THIS ONE. MAYBE NEXT YEAR THEY WILL DO " ON THE EIGHTH DAY"
Rock and Roll Hell almost sounds better! Tuned down a little and Gene a little more “growly ”. Sounds great! Nice to see Eric playing for the song and not being “showy”
Agreed! If you review the lyrics esp at the 1st verse, the dropped key + aging voice matches "the years"! Bryan Adams, Jim Vallance + Gene Simmons thought WAY ahead when they wrote the lyrics!
Saw them in '83 Lick it up tour, Edinburgh Playhouse, Scotland, and they played Firehouse. Paul put on a fireman's helmet which he threw out to the crowd. So not first time since '82.
i hate people that take the picks off paul’s guitar. they practically cleaned them all off except a few. entitled brats. do like all of us and catch them when he throws them to you, not just grab them.
ALL THE BACK AND FORTH ARGUING ABOUT WHO IS IN THE BAND , JUST ENJOY IT FOR WHAT IT IS. PRETTY SOON YOU ALL AINT GOING TO HAVE ANYTHING TO ARGUE ABOUT, THEY CANT AND DONT WANT TO DO THIS MUCH LONGER. THE ONLY WEEK LINK WITH THE BAND NOW IS PAUL'S VOICE AND THATS NOT GOING TO CHANGE SO LETS BE GLAD THEY'RE DOING THIS.
Hanzon Macaque LOL That’s the hilarious thing. Ace left KISS...TWICE. MFs talking about how Ace should come back when he decided it was better for him to play clubs than continue to milk this cash cow. Gene and PAul have always been about milking this thing since the beginning, that’s the only reason they’ve said they didn’t get rid of both Peter and Ace sooner. And yet those two fools did everything possible to F it all up.
6:42 -- Oh yeeEEAHHH! Rock and Roll Hell! Loved the production on this album. They should have done this back in their younger days when Gene could still hit those notes live.
I think the real reason is because for a couple of the early shows they played Rock and Roll Hell and Keep Me Comin' on the original set list for Creatures but they were dropped later. Not likely out of jealousy that Ace covered it . . . .
Whatever the doubters and cynics may proclaim about KISS overall, only the deaf, dumb & blind could deny that this performance is 100% pure greasy absolutely amazing rock and frigin' roll!!!!!!!
When I got into them in '75 I never dreamed it would go on this long that they would let fans "behind the curtain". If they had broken up after the Elder (although I really like Creatures) , or after the reunion / farewell tours....we would have a totally different opinion of them from a Mystique standpoint
Actually they played firehouse a lot after 82 because when i seen them on 9/11/10 they played fire house unless you are referring to rock and roll hell
Oh so Tommy is wearing Ace’s costume From 81-82 and that is just not right. Ace is Ace. I don’t care if KISS owns the Spaceman makeup and forces Tommy to wear it. He can make his own makeup just like Eric Singer should. Ace Rules and he is a god. Nobody can at least impersonate or be him. Ace Frehley is Ace Fricking Frehley.
Granted I’m just watching this now, but I didn’t care for that either. Especially Singer wearing Carr’s fur collared suit when they started the Creatures theme again.
Paul's voice is shot. Like Rhonda Roussey he has stayed in the ring too long. at this point Eric singer can sing all his leads. The lust for adoration and $$ is strong with Gene & Paul.
An odd amalgam of what appears to be Destroyer era armor on the arms of Gene's outfit and Love Gun era boots, plus the Pedulla bass that ,unless I'm mistaken (and I frequently am) came at least two tours after the Love Gun tour. Now that I look closer,Paul's playing the B.C.Rich Mockingbird from the Animalize era and Tommy's decked out in garb from The Elder. Oh,and let's not miss the Lick It Up era drums. Should have called this the "Let's Just Confuse the Shit Out of Them" tour!
markpr73 What? These are all Creatures of the Night throw-backs. Gene’s COFN costume did look like a mashup of the Destroyer and Love Gun outfits, but this one is pretty much a copy of the COFTN outfit. Also, this is a Punisher bass. Check out the “I Love it Loud” video and the 1983 Rio de Janeiro concert.
That's just stupid. Eric's character is the Catman, so they're not changing it. That's like saying when a major league baseball team wears a throwback uniform for one of those "turn back the clock" games, the players should change their uniform numbers to those of the guys that played their positions when that was the team's regular uniform. You know why they don't do it? Because those aren't the numbers they wear. Eric Singer doesn't wear the Fox makeup, and there's no reason to start. However, I do think instead of the fox fur on the collar of the outfit (removable, I believe), they should go with some type of cat, like a cheetah or leopard, because a fox is closer in relation to a dog. Putting in cat in fox fur doesn't make sense.
No, they didn't. unyum has obviously not heard the original album recording of "Rock And Roll Hell" off CREATURES OF THE NIGHT, because if he had, he would realize that the production was better than the bombastic noise on Ace's album; he would also realize that Ace is pushing his voice through his throat to *almost* hit the melody lines, and it sounds very weak and amateurish; though Ace is a great guitar player, Vinnie Vincent did a much better attack job on this track on COTN. To compare Ace's album version with this live version nearly 35 years after their own album version, is certifiably bonkers. So to answer your question, KISS probably decided to add this to their songlist BECAUSE Ace did a version, due to the fact that KISS fans are hearing it again, and would welcome its inclusion. Don't let the door hit your ignorant ass on the way out...
+Jon Dumore Actually, Vinnie didn't play on this one on COTN. It was Robben Ford. Common knowledge among KISS fans. Check out the DVD included with the "Spin the Bottle" tribute CD. Ford is on it, and he says for all to see and hear that he played on that one.
genes bass sounds fucking awesome
The chorus in Rock and Roll Hell sounds so powerful. It sounds like there's a million people chanting it.
Part of that could be the audience singing along with it. But yeah, I totally know what you mean. Great chorus for a great track.
Love genes bass sound here
No matter what fans say [ And I am a fan of the original line up ] These guys are still rocking in old age with all credit to them. And I doubt they need the money.
They don't need the money, but they love it all the same! More power to them!
I absolutley LOVE Rock n roll hell. One of my first Kiss I listened to
Man Gene's voice is every bit as good now as it was in his 20's. Even better I would say.
Yes, he IS retaining his timbre and range well into his 60s. Amazing.
If it weren't for Paul's surgery, he probably would have retained all that power and range from his most powerful vocal glory days of the mid-80s to mid-90s.

Its not a problem as Paul does not need to prove anything, look at his voice from the early 90s, his peak. At least Gene still sounds great.
Steven Dleifteh Saw Gene solo last year; he sounded awesome. Gotta ask, though, how did he lead a "better lifestyle" than Paul?
Holy crap, it looks like this is NOT lip synced!
I still like Genes voice from the 76-82 the best.
The band does a lot that's unique to the Kruise experience. One thing I haven't seen recorded as much are the song introductions. Always loved this song, nice to hear it played live again.
IVE SAID THIS FOR YEARS !!!!! add rock n roll hell to the fucking set list. It’s a fucking crime that it’s not on there.
That place looks awesome. I wish I had 3mil to spend on that ship.
ONE OF THE BEST SONGS THEY HAVE BROUGHT BACK FOR THOSE OF US THAT HAVE EVERY ALBUM. ITS GREAT TO HEAR THIS SONG LIVE. GENE KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK WITH THIS ONE. MAYBE NEXT YEAR THEY WILL DO " ON THE EIGHTH DAY"
Kiss got the best backup background vocals on earth
Rock and Roll Hell almost sounds better! Tuned down a little and Gene a little more “growly ”. Sounds great! Nice to see Eric playing for the song and not being “showy”

I think they mean first time Rock and Roll has been played live since 82.
kisses my one favorite band growing up and I finally got to see him back in 1997 at the Baltimore dump the original guys love you all keep Rockin
That was totally AWESOME !!!
i hate people that take the picks off paul’s guitar. they practically cleaned them all off except a few. entitled brats. do like all of us and catch them when he throws them to you, not just grab them.
I've always thought he leaned on purpose so that they could grab them

Ace needs to come back and sing his version , ACE ACE ACE
no no no
Why? Ass Frehley quit the band. He dont give a shit but idiots like you do!?!?! Go figure
hahahahaha...ass frehley...lol...
Ace's version is terrible. So bad.
Hanzon Macaque LOL That’s the hilarious thing. Ace left KISS...TWICE. they did it in 1982
@@magnuspettersson8056 True. I think they did it twice or three times total
Nice clear video. Thanks for sharing.
I think the real reason is because for a couple of the early shows they played Rock and Roll Hell and Keep Me Comin' on the original set list for Creatures but they were dropped later. Not likely out of jealousy that Ace covered it . . . .
They should play this on the final show
Great catch about Ace! These guys sound really good here. Better than some of the arena shows. Good stuff.
Thanks!
Whatever the doubters and cynics may proclaim about KISS overall, only the deaf, dumb & blind could deny that this performance is 100% pure greasy absolutely amazing rock and frigin' roll!!!!!!!
wow, never seen them perform Rock And roll heel before...like ever.
When I got into them in '75 I never dreamed it would go on this long that they would let fans "behind the curtain".
If they had broken up after the Elder (although I really like Creatures) , or after the reunion / farewell tours....we would have a totally different opinion of them from a Mystique standpoint
Awesome job on rock and roll hell anyone else notice Tommy playing a 3 pickup Les Paul?
OMG this is so lit!!! Finally!!!
wow, something you can only get on a Kiss cruise...Kandidness and rare KISS tunes...
Actually they played firehouse a lot after 82 because when i seen them on 9/11/10 they played fire house unless you are referring to rock and roll hell
Wesley 9199 Moron

Paul Stanley was one of rock's best vocalists. but he had to hang it up around 20 years ago. :(
Bass guitar and drum mix are badass here!!
Paul's voice is shot. Like Rhonda Roussey he has stayed in the ring too long. at this point Eric singer can sing all his leads. The lust for adoration and $$ is strong with Gene & Paul.
Played live for the first time . Rock and Roll Hell
Robert LeBeL Nope. Was done on the first few shows in 1982. Audio bootlegs are available.
@@thefonzkiss The FonZ. Is correct yet Again saw them play it live Rockford Illinois Metro Center New Year's Eve 1982

They should play this one on EOTRT
So now we have Tommy pretending to be Ace Frehley pretending to play on Creatures. lol
actually...ace sucks.....
...even if that was true, what does it have to do with the price of eggs in China?
you suck
I think it's the price of tea in China
Yeah.Imagine that.A guitar player with no mental illness or drug/alcohol problems. How dare he? LOL
I hope the next tour they do they wear the hotter than hell outfits
KISS ARE IMMORTALS
Firehouse, first time since 1982? I've heard it several times after that 🙄
Peter Star Mörker Stad they’re talking about Rock and Roll Hell, dumbass
Vinnie, Vinnie. LOL.
Fuck Firehouse is a kickass song.
7:18 People are taking Paul's Picks
you mean pics?
Its obvious he's talking about guitar picks
it makes me so mad.
Bryan Adams gets some song writing credits here
So Gene doesn't spit fire on the cruise?
The Dude Nah. No open flame allowed. No pyro either.
7:25 everybody stealing Paul's picks 😏 kind of rude, but I guess those are the perks of being on the Cruise.
2 picks for 5k
Frankie xXx actually on kisspickworld.com they’re like $5. or you can just catch them at the show like us smart, not rude people
I like Rock n Roll Hell. I think Creatures was a good album.
Great Brian Adams song
This song is about Ace!
Nice base
The donut demon, Bea Arthur gargling wasps with shaved in abs and two cosplayers. Eric is dressed as Peter Criss wearing Eric Carr’s outfit. Wtf
Anyone else notice someone playing guitar in the background?
i think it was a guitar tech tuning
Not a bad sounding tribute band.
It's The real band
Tribute ban? Are you blind or just stupid.
damn Paul, cover up
Gene sounds like Fred G Sanford! No, really RNR Hell sounds awesome Surprisingly.
Um, people ?? This is a cover band.
ReneeNme Two original members are playing so no.
I love gene
Me: 😅
8:14 The military canon is alive !!!
Theme is Creatures right? Would the ticket sales drop off if they put the fox 🦊 makeup on Eric for 2017? Don't think so.

Brian Lee nobody is worthy to have Eric Carr's makeup and be in KISS
Brian Lee it would have increased.
Brian Lee Real KISS fans would have loved it if they did Carr and Vincent makeup.
Olive Branch Not Carr, its disrespectful to parade in a dead mans signature look
Awe, did Gene & Paul get jelly that Ace did a better cover of this tune?
get a life.
No, they didn't.

Hello peeps
😀
Also, didn't a guy named Steve Ferris play lead guitar on the song "Creatures Of The Night" when they recorded it?
Gene don't look happy
Who's that wannabe guy thinking he's as cool as ACE? Ha-ha!!!
Should've dressed the fakes as Carr and Vincent.
this sucks out loud.
tommys been in kiss since 2003, and I dont like him.
Then why are you here? 🤣🤣🤣
