    There are only a few people out there that can do quality bodywork/welding / fabricating and be a mechanic as well . lots of one or the other but having all the skills is rare. good job as always.

    It's good to see someone who knows what they are doing. It's even better when he has enough confidence that he isn't scared of periods of silence while he's working. No stupid, annoying music is a rare thing to find on videos and it's a pleasant surprise.

    Extremely fortunate that failed pin did not crater the ring gear and pinion, possibly even the case. You stopped driving it just in time. Quite the blessing by my way of looking at things. Really enjoying your videos, thanks for taking the time to make them.

      I thought about a posi but decided against it because I don't plan to be doing any burnouts or driving in the snow and I didn't want the possibility of any chatter going around corners. Thanks for watching.

    I drive mew races in with the old ones also. Tip.. cut old races with thin cut off wheel with the grinder. One full depth cut. Then the old races pull right out.

    Side axles are known to wear excessively original GM ones…. Best years for better heat treatment r 71-72 corvette rears… hard to find

    No clutch pack? You'll be spinning one tire all day.

    Never showed packing the clutches … looks like way to much end play on the side yokes… probably ur axles r very worn… did u check for wear on the ends??

    NOT GOOD TO POUND ON SHIMS.. YOU NEED A DIFF EXPANDING TOOL.. NO POUNDING ON SHIMS

      @DickShaw  9 месяцев назад

      Hey, Thanks for the comments and for watching. Yes I know knocking the shims in is not the best way but I don't have the tool you mention. However, I did not have to overdo it on the pounding :) I weighed the option of posi-traction and decided not to because I'm not going to be doing any burn outs or high speed cornering ... just building a nice street cruiser. The posi's have clutches that wear out and always a possibility of some chattering around corners so decided that I didn't need it.
