This channel is for the purpose of sharing some of my projects with others and potentially helping them with their own projects. Hopefully, some of my videos will be entertaining as well. Thank you for subscribing to my channel. I have had an interest in the automobile since I was about 6 years old. I once made a living as an engine rebuilder for a local Automotive Machine Shop. In my younger days, I raced the dirt tracks of the Southwest in Sprint Cars, Modifieds, and Stock Cars. Now I pretty much just restore, rebuild, and customize cars, trucks, and motorcycles of all makes. I like everything automotive, including gas station memorabilia. I have always done my own fabrication including mechanical, paint & body, and upholstery. It is just a hobby that gives me great satisfaction. I do not have a business and I am not for hire.

I have a question nobody could answer me yet. My 56 hard top rattles and squeaks all the time and it is so annoying. Is this common on all early birds while driving with the hardtop on an can i do anything about it? Greetings from Germany, goldenrod yellow '55
Just did this job myself two weeks ago if you wanna know the right way to do it watch the al knoch video!!!
A screen spline roller might have helped with that cord
That's a great idea and I have one of those. Wish I had thought of it. Thanks for sharing!
What kind of brakes did you put on?
I used Wilwood calipers that work with the original style rotors. They are 6 piston for the front and 4 piston for the rear.
This popped up today. You’ve come a long way.
It has been quite a journey. Thanks for following along on this ride.
👍
1st time or 200th time it would not look any better, it looks fantastic. Thanks for the info on the weatherstrip parts, i had no idea of how they went on and they need to be replaced. Super great video, thanks. It looks real sharp.
I appreciate the kind words.
i had that truck as my first truck i bought with out any help from anyone i bought a dodge rampage for 650 bucks i brought it home sold it the same day for 1500 bucks my dad laugh at me so i found the 84 f 250 2 wheel drive dual gad tanks for 1500 not far from my house i bought it for a grand got it home and my dad stuck his foot through my bed i had to cut him free before he did more damage i bought a new bed for 250 from the junk yard i miss that old truck
Great story! Thanks for sharing.
Great job! Is your vet flared all the way around or just in the back?
Well, it was flared in the back only, but I have returned it to stock now.
@ 10-4. I remember watching one of your vid’s addressing the fenders, but couldn’t remember if you were flaring them or returning them back to stock. I’ve got Mid Year Mitch building me a 65 roadster on a roadster shop spec seven chassis. I’m trying to figure out engine options that will provide the safe horsepower and value. Please let me know if you have any recommendations love your videos thanks.
@@vstags Since you are using a roadster shop chassis, it tells me that keeping it stock is not a concern. I have a LS1 from a 98 Corvette in mine and I think it is going to be great. The LS3 though is a better option and there are plenty of them around so the cost will be reasonable. The chassis you are getting could probably be ordered with the mounts for it already installed. I think the LS3 is 430 horsepower so that is more than enough for a street machine.
Looks great. You have a high skill set. I have a Mustang to do in the near future; will be my first attempt.
Thanks for watching. Best of luck with the Mustang.
Thanks turned out great
I appreciate that.
Thanks great as always
I just started a '72 frame off resto. This has been saved, I have a feeling I'll be looking for it in a couple of years... :D
Thanks for watching. I hope it comes in handy.
Great work
Thanks!
I have a 65 and need to replace my top … thank you for the video.
I hope this helps you out.
Beautiful job! Love your videos!!!
Thanks, I appreciate it!
Looks great !
Best video I've seen for what you've done. Wish you wouldn't have lost your carpet install. Can't find one that covers the detail. Amazing job.
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it.
Thanks this is gonna be a great present for your wife LOL great job .
She only likes NEW stuff! So, it's all mine :)
Great video as ever! I'll do this in a few months, so thanks for the guide! At the beginning of your video, you can see the underfloor storage compartment where the jack normally gets stored - and yours is all black, did you paint it black (if so, what did you use?)? That area in my C2 looks like raw fibreglass 😐
Yes I painted it black and then lined it with a durable material that was about 1/8" thick to help with noise control, just glued it in. Thanks for watching and good luck with yours.
That's dead helpful - thanks @@DickShaw!
What a beautiful truck and I commend you on the job well done!
Thank you! It was a lot of work but I enjoyed it.
VERY GOOD video explanation. I need to DIY improve my 1970 Nova throttle linkage. This is great info for me.. Thanks
Thanks, good luck with your project!
i needed this - thank you sir.
Glad I could help
I asked to see how to replace the throttle calbe on a 1995 S.10
Great video. I need to something like this for my project car
Good luck with your project!
Or if you don't have any tools or ability you can always slot the mounts and move the eng and trans forward the 7/8" 😄
Ha ha, that works too!
Restoring a 1963 and these videos are very helpful. Thanks!
Thanks! Good luck with your restoration.

I appreciate the feedback, but I'm happy with the progress of my channel.
Great video . I’m hoping to get my 95 looking like that .
Thanks for watching. Good luck with your project.
Haaaaa..... you answered my question at the end......I have always wanted to rebuild a dcoe but was hesitant because i was not sure what all the parts are called and what their specific functions are. Think I'll find me one that needs a rebuild and go hands on...... Excellent tutorial and confidence builder. Thanks 👍👍
Glad it helped.
Well done, as always. I believe that little roller is the unsung hero of this restoration. It must be in half the videos.
Ha Ha! You are right. I use it for everything!
Great job on the carpet. Watching your video made me realize that I'm missing the metal trim at the kick panels. I like how you did your seatbelts and your idea for bolting the seats. It is going to be amazing.
Thanks for watching and for the kind words. I'm looking forward to getting this car on the road.
The carpet kit looks fabulous. Of course your custom fitting skills make all the difference-great job! The black interior is going to look stunning in contrast to your orange paint. One step closer to a drive!
Thanks!
Awesome Dick, this is on my spring to do list on my '94f150.
Good luck with it, I hope it goes well.
Wow! You really covered that floor 😁 molded carpet, so much easier 👍🏻 gonna look great 😊
Yes! Thank you!
Wow, right on that you still have your car from 30 years ago, I wish to heck I still had one of my 1964 vw's from 30 years ago
It had some minor damage on the nose. I gave $350 for it.
Congratulations! It's always a blast when it cranks up the first time. What is the light used for that you said turned on when you installed the relays?
That light is the check engine light. It comes on when the car is started and then goes off after a few seconds once it is programmed properly.
Awesome job man looks amazing
Thanks!
@ do you remember what paint color you used?
When you started the Corvette RUclips closed captions said [Music] and I think that is about right!
Right on, I'm working on a 64 coupe, but it's all stock. Your workmanship is awesome!
Thanks 👍
Very cool that first start 👍🏻 gonna be terrific to see you driving it now dick. 👏🏻
"We have ignition"! Congratulations Dick, on the first start of the LS1 in your Corvette project. It sounds great! Now I can't wait to see you take your first drive in the car. I know there are a lot of little details that need to be attended to before that happens, but this video is a big milestone in your project.
Thank you. I'm anxious to start driving it.
I was on the edge of my seat. Great job.👍
You and me both!
Congrats! What a long journey and total reward hearing it rumble. Can't even imagine how difficult the wiring was. Well done sir.
Thanks!
Music to my ears. Sounds great and looks very nice. Cant wait for the next videos. A true labor of love. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful work,,,, OLD guys rule......
Did u glued that metal trimming into the seal ??
No I did not. No glue is needed there. Thanks for watching.
@ how u put it on then ??
Like the work on you car, your video is logically thought out and well presented. I look forward to seeing your next video and ultimately your finished car
Much appreciated!
Thanks to you and the manufacturer whoever does this will have very few problems.. Great job, thanks
Thank you!
As easy as it is to pull the engine on these cars, i think that would be my first step. It would also be a great time to change the front brake line to the passenger side. Great video thank you for your time and for sharing.
